to wonder why people buy expensive toilet paper?

Confused

Shops have almost a whole aisle dedicated to the toilet paper. We always buy the cheapest ones we can find (usually own brand), and I can't understand why people spend so much money on branded loo roll. You're literally only using it to wipe yourself and throw down the toilet.

Am I missing something here?

The Shea butter one kept shredding when I wiped myself. And I wasn't wiping that vigorously either. I was fed up picking bits of loo roll out my nether regions.

Cushelle quilted all the way!

I hate cheap loo roll and it's such a false economy. You need twice as much as the squares are smaller and the rolls are looser.

Actually the best loo roll is Kirkland from Costco. Economical as well. The rolls are massive and seem to last forever!

I buy the thickest I can find, 3 or 4 ply, because the cheap stuff disintegrates unless you use about 15 sheets at a time. I also buy quilted for the same reason, the little quilts hold it together somehow.

None of the perfumed and covered in aloe vera/coconut/fruits of the forest/peach blossoms/lime marmalade rubbish either.

Just as I find a nice strong and soft one it gets 'improved' and I have to find another one. Used to buy the Lidl Floralys with the pink flowers on, it wasn't thick but it didn't shred in use, then they stopped selling it and replaced it with cheap, poor quality stuff, have been searching for a replacement ever since.

Because my balloon knot deserves the best!

I'm on medication, one of the side effects is softer stools. Nice.

The cheap stuff clings to my pubes like velcro. And is rather uncomfortable on my flaps too.

Bum Hose = Shattaf! We fitted one for rinsing off cloth nappies into the loo :-) www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/shattaf

I also buy 2 types - expensive and thick for the ds loo, main bathroom and our ensuite, any old supermarket brand for teens' bathrooms - they couldn't care less.

Used to always buy Aldi shea butter loo roll, but the last lot felt different! Crisper and less soft. Anyone else notice?

Heatherjayne1972 · 15/07/2018 19:36

Cheapo loo roll all the way here
It’s for bottoms and noses and the amount my two get through it has to be the cheap stuff
Plus my cat loves to jump up and unravel whole rolls on a regular basis
No posh paper here

stressedtiredbuthappy · 15/07/2018 19:51

Yep cheap loo roll for me!!pp have said it's a false economy, I don't think so.
Cheap kitchen rolll that's a false economy Smile

RedPanda2 · 15/07/2018 19:56

Cheap loo roll breaks up in your fanny. Evem at my poorest I would buy good stuff, I see it as an essential

Mousefunky · 15/07/2018 19:59

Before DP and I lived together, I always bought the cheap stuff. Primarily because I thought it was a huge waste of money to spend twice the amount on something you wipe your arse and fanny with Grin. DP hates cheap loo paper and refuses to use it so now we buy the posh stuff to appease him and his clearly delicate bottom Confused.

wrenika · 15/07/2018 20:01

Cheaper is false economy. I bulk buy Andrex on Amazon. My butt thanks me!

DiabolicalMess · 15/07/2018 20:11

I like a quilted loo paper. I like it because my finger never goes through it. HTH.

DustbinTails · 15/07/2018 22:20

Well I'm incredibly wealthy so I get my man servant to wipe my nethers with kittens.

It's ah-mazing what one can afford when one earns all the money.

"l buy Asda Shades in packs of 24. £8, good quality, and it lasts me ages. l have three toilets so l can stock each one up!"

This, apart from we only have one toilet.
