Parking situation on my new road.

I have just completed on a new house. When I viewed it I spent time on different days popping by the road at different times of day to checkout the parking situation and all was fine. My house and the one opposite have a drive for 1 car odd road and the others have space for 2. I only have one car.

The house opposite was for sale at the same time and the new occupants have just moved in a couple of weeks after me.
They have 6 cars!!!! (Green)

I have tried my best on the diagram to illustrate where everyone tends to park - each house has a coloured for above and then their cars are the same colour lines.
I only have one car so my driveway is ample however with green house wankers parking their cars all over the place - mainly at the end of the cul de sac - it's really hard to get out of my drive with cars also parked on the road in between my house (red) and my nice NDN (blue)

I've popped round and introduced myself and explained asking them politely not to park the three cars at the the end of the cul de sac (which is a dropped kerb. But they closed the door in my face and I haven't seen them since. Tonight they've got all of their cars all over the road as per the diagram.

What's my best course of action here?

Parking situation on my new road.

Since you having enough money to have SIX cars, I assume you have the money to buy a house with a big enough drive way to park the bastard things on
They think they did as they mistakenly think the end of road is "theirs"

LemonySippet · 16/07/2018 18:24

Brilliant diagrams OP, and balls of steel to boot!

vinceb · 16/07/2018 18:26

Take off and nuke the site from orbit.. It's the only way to be sure...

Fairyhill · 16/07/2018 18:28

I would lend a nice big landrover for a couple of weeks - or buy a heap of a car ... then I d park on however I liked - so if that meant gettting in my drive with some scraps to the other cars so be it ... tough luck on them for parking that way ! And when they come round to complain .. shut the door in their faces. Yes this shit pisses me off!! In a previous house , I came home to find someone had parked on my drive outside my house and had gone to the local shop .. I blocked them in and went in doors ... ( they d done it a few times at this point ) when they knocked the door AFTER trying to get past my car - I told them the tow truck was on the way and had nt they seen the sign... I closed the door and let them sweat.
I did move my car and told them this was the last time I d let them off - they did nt park there again. Yes I m an arsehole about these things .. it’s your space you pay for it by buying your house.
Otherwise see if a Solictor could pop them a letter ?
Good luck

Leave your car there for the foreseeable, ell then you're having work done to your drive so are using the space outside YOUR house.

Give them directions to a fucking car sales room for their own parking spaces!!!

LexieLulu · 16/07/2018 18:29

Ooh order a skip! 😂

pollymere · 16/07/2018 18:29

Get the council to paint a white line or yellow one around the cul de Sac part making it a towable offence to park there. If there's a dropped curb you can paint a white one...not that I said that btw...

vinceb · 16/07/2018 18:32

6 cars seems a bit much... How many people live there? They're not running a car business from their house are they?

BoneyBackJefferson · 16/07/2018 18:33

@vinceb meme fail :( Grin

woodhill · 16/07/2018 18:33

I thought they were renting?

flumpybear · 16/07/2018 18:34

We've got one of those 'H' bars outside out driveway - it extends way beyond our dropped kerb - ask the council for this - they're knobs for parking over your drive way so you can't get in or out properly - perhaps they're the Boswells? Do you live in Liverpool?

MadisonAvenue · 16/07/2018 18:40

OP we have a similar frustration on our close. Some houses have drives large enough to cater for six vehicles but there's one family who have parking for two but own eight vehicles between them (two white vans belonging to the husband, he has a car, his wife has three cars and their teenage sons have a car each). Add on the sons' girlfriends parking regularly and it's bloody mayhem.

RandomMess · 16/07/2018 18:40

A very simple "I can't risk parking on my drive as someone keeps partially blocking it making it too difficult to use..."

Katr673 · 16/07/2018 18:40

Placemarking as don't want to miss any updates ☺

TheMonkeyMummy · 16/07/2018 18:42

@RandomMess I like that response the best!

MarieeBarone · 16/07/2018 18:42

I cannot believe that fucking note!

Pixiegirl76 · 16/07/2018 18:43

You dont really want to get into an altercation with them,it will turn nasty, and ultimately you will be at loggerheads, letting their tyres down is silly and childish.I would try and get on with them,yes,6 cars are ridiculous, but theres no law against it.Ask them round for drinks, and explain calmly how you feel?Say we all have to get on,and explain CALMLY the situation.

BoneyBackJefferson · 16/07/2018 18:47

Pixiegirl76

The OP has tried calmly

mumsastudent · 16/07/2018 18:48

got it! Blow up cars (not blowing up cars-although..) take a tip from ww2 where they had mock tanks all over east Anglia - only you have pretend cars you can move and shift easily into place but which look real enough to make nasty neighbours 6 cars a scare!

Nearly47 · 16/07/2018 18:49

It is shocking the way this people are behaving.
My neighbours had 3 cars and have this weird thing that if we moved our car for a few minutes to go the shops they would jump and park at the just emptied space so all their cars were visible from their house and in front of mine. I suspect they don't have comprehensive insurance to be so afraid that their car would be stolen. I didn't mind much because there are plenty of spaces on my road. I don't need to see my car at night and don't mind walking a couple of meters. Annoying when I came home from the supermarket though.
They are otherwise good neighbours.Confused

MonkeySlutIsBlown · 16/07/2018 18:49

Buy a toy car and park it on your drive so it's not empty. Maybe put a table and chair set out there and sit having a cuppa with a smile on your face while you watch the CF flip his shit Grin

Definitely get in touch with the council, try to get yellow lines put down. And keep reporting him (with picture evidence) each time he puts a car anywhere near the dropped kerb. Try to ask the mobility scooter man what he thinks and see if he willing to put in a complaint too. He's making it hard for a disabled person to use a public park, something has to be done about that, surely?

But seriously, who the FUCK needs 6 cars?! For THREE people! Really? That's fucking madness. I seriously can't understand that at all. 6 cars is just stupid there is no need for that.

LavenderDoll · 16/07/2018 18:52

Outrageous
Do not give in to these bullies OP

TheMonkeyMummy · 16/07/2018 18:55

Oh yes! Get patio furniture for your drive!

TheGirlWhoLived · 16/07/2018 19:01

I HATE people like this! Bet they take all the good food at a buffet too, it is NOT their road, it is just wanky

LakieLady · 16/07/2018 19:04

I really don't understand the way some people carry on. Parking's pretty hellish in our road, but everyone's really respectful and no-one blocks anyone else's drive.

I just don't get why some people feel that they're entitled to do whatever the fuck they like.
