No real reason why!

I've always loved McQueen and Fairbanks.

My surname is on here too Smile
I also like Pevensie (from narnia)

HarshingMyMellow · 15/07/2018 08:29

McNamara is one of the best surnames ever.

Mine is a boring American name. It's quite easy to spell and say but everyone manages to get it wrong.

stephanielittl7 · 15/07/2018 08:33

I used to know someone with the surname Godbehere. Ive always thought it was really unusual and ive never met anyone else with the same name since.

HappinessIsAStateofMind · 15/07/2018 08:34

‘Truth’, as in the women’s rights activist, Sojourner Truth. The coolest name ever.

Zoflorabore · 15/07/2018 08:37

Years ago I worked in a call centre QVC and received a call from a "Captain Bastard" and I didn't know how to address him!

He was frightfully posh and sounded very jolly and said " dear girl, I will pronounce my surname for you as it's often said wrong- I'm Captain bstard " which sounds totally different to Captain Bastard.

Also had a regular caller Mrs O'nion who once came through to me with a complaint that another staff member had called her "Mrs Onion" Grin

Not names that I like but unusual ones I have seen lately include a Dr. Flowerbloom and a Mr. Pornstaub

Fintress · 15/07/2018 08:39

Featherstonehaugh

I worked with someone with this surname. I always imagined it would be a pain to keep spelling out over the phone. My maiden name has been mentioned. My married name is very Scottish and strangely enough anywhere we visit in the world people pronounce it properly but at home it's a different story, same with the spelling.

Mimmim112 · 15/07/2018 08:41

Davenport. I know it’s a sofa but it sounds nice and I used to fancy Jack Davenport in This Life

Fintress · 15/07/2018 08:41

Years ago we had a client called Mr Bucket and he was constantly telling people it was pronounced bouquet Hmm

Coulditbeme · 15/07/2018 08:42

When I was a child and read the Sweet Valley High books I loved the surname Wakefield like the twins in the book.
I named my dd Jessica but sadly our surname is not Wakefield.

I know someone with the surname de la croix which I think is lovely.......they’re very English.

Teddy1970 · 15/07/2018 08:51

I've met a Mr Christmas through my previous job, I remember thinking how unusual! My favourite surname would be a really posh one I think.

EggysMom · 15/07/2018 08:55

I'm rather partial to the surname McAlpine also, but that might be because I know a rather fanciable fella with that name Blush

I like my current surname, it's unusual, but would be outing to put on here.

There was someone at Uni called Nancy Tasker.
