I've always loved McQueen and Fairbanks.

Kirby, I've loved it for years. I recently met a couple with that surname and was very overexcited.

For some bizarre reason I love the surname Anderson. No reason. I just love it.

My 2 favourites are Bourne ( I immediately think of new beginnings. And Paradise, what a great attachment to your name

Cavendish. I'd love that as my surname.

My maiden name is rubbish. Every time anyone hears it they ask 'oh, that's unusual. Where's it from?' Gets very boring.

Husband's surname is equally unusual but also ugly.

I went to a local history night near my house recently and found out that the old greengrocer on our street used to be run by the Lovely family. It was literally called the Lovely Greengrocer!

@ApolloandDaphne, somewhat similar - my favourite has always been Adamson. I don't know why, either! I do like all -son surnames.

I have an extremely common Irish surname, which I've always disliked. My fiancé has a very uncommon surname, which is very pretty, both written and spoken. I realise, now, that I quite like the anonymity of a common name (first+surname).

I like long names like Cunningham, Winterton, Anderson but also names that are real things like Drinkwater or featherstone.

We had neighbours with Banger as a last name. That's Banger pronounced "Bainjere" Like Bucket pronounced "Bouquet". Still amusing 40 years later.

Lightbody. I went to school with a girl who had this surname - always made me think of Native Americans, but has no such connection apparently. I love it.

I was born a Smith and hated how common that was. Then a married a man with a much rarer surname and, according to google, I'm the only person with my first name and surname, and I really hate that.
