What a sad life some people must lead if they are rubbing their hands with glee at England crashing out in the semis...

I feel sorry for you. Hope you find some happiness in your life soon.

Coz u sound like miserable negative twats LOL! Grin

WELL DONE ENGLAND. EURO CUP NEXT!!!

Then (maybe) the World Cup in 2022.

Don't respond to the haters and baiters folks. Fuk em!

Worieddd · 11/07/2018 22:35

I’m gutted Sad

MadMags · 11/07/2018 22:36

You ok, hun?

Enthymeme · 11/07/2018 22:36

Not English but was right behind a good young team and splendid manager until I accidentally tuned into GMB. I’m afraid that 5 minutes of overbearing Piers Morgan and the two bits of fluff he shares the sofa with (apparently they used to be journalists) cured me. I can now hear “It’s coming home. (It was invented in Scotland) England have their rightful place. Johnny Foreigner put in his place. Gave the others a good thrashing. Etc”. Still sad for the players and manager but relieved that we will be spared a ‘66 repeat.

cardibach · 11/07/2018 22:37

Don’t see any hand rubbing on this thread, really. People saying they aren’t bothered because they don’t like football, or pointing out Croatians would have been gutted if I had gone the other way are making valid replies to the question posed by the thread title.

IhopeyoulikeNavantoo · 11/07/2018 22:37

To be fair England played well in the tournament and really wanted it, so they had a lot of heart. But nah.... not bothered. Love both Croatia and les bleus so it's a good result.

French2019 · 11/07/2018 22:37

I'm gutted for them, but they did brilliantly well and should be proud of what they've achieved.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/07/2018 22:38

Gutted.

They came out with their heads held high,

Beehiveyourself · 11/07/2018 22:39

Oh is this the tournament that was same as the 66 one? Well England have won it before then.

igetalong · 11/07/2018 22:39

One trick ponies. Set piece threat is not enough. I think it's hilarious the way you build em up & knock em down but in all seriousness - you'll never compete with genuine quality if that's all you have. Kane sits too deep since being captain. He's a 9. You're fuck all use sitting in midfield.

BG2015 · 11/07/2018 22:40

Gutted.

I'm not a football fan particularly but loved the nation getting behind the team.

I'm a primary school teacher and it's been great at school. Every child singing the song, learning about the different countries playing, researching flags and players. Songs played in assemblies. Football played by boys and girls on the playground.

We.ve filled our scores on the wall chart religiously everyday. It's been brilliant

So sad. Great team. You did us proud.

RitaMills · 11/07/2018 22:41

DS and I were pretty gutted for England, esp seeing the players look so deflated at the end. It would’ve been nice for them to reach the final. A lot of us Scots were genuinely rooting for you guys.

Sunnymeg · 11/07/2018 22:41

They were always going to have problems when they met a decent team. Apart from Belgium, everyone else has been far less competent than England up to this point. At least it stops them losing to France in the final by what could have easily been an embarrassing number of goals. I say this as someone who watches Football week in and week out, both live and on TV. It is great that the nation got behind the team and it brought some excitement to the summer, but there was no hype around this team when the competition started. No world cup song, very little merchandise avaliable. They rode their luck and a favourable draw for as long as they could, if they had been in the other half of the draw, they would not have got through. They won t do anything in. Qatar, it is just too hot.

userofthiswebsite · 11/07/2018 22:42

Not really a football fan but it's a shame we're out. After the early goal, I did think we were on track to win but these things happen.

On the plus side, I'm on a plane 4pm Sunday so I'm glad I don't have to miss a final that are England are playing in.

TemptressofWaikiki · 11/07/2018 22:42

Na. Am pleased. Got sick and tired with this completely OTT behaviour. It was just the semi-finals.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/07/2018 22:43

We don’t build em up and knock em down igetalong. We appreciated they got a long way in the tournament and love them for it.

Sallystyle · 11/07/2018 22:43

I am a bit gutted for other people who really care about football.

I'm not a big fan at all but obviously wanted them to win. I am sad for the team and everyone who really cares. I have three very upset teens right now.

JacquesHammer · 11/07/2018 22:43

I’m really looking forward to the World Cup in 2019, then the Euros in 2020 especially given the unusual hosting format.

Interesting times ahead!

VictorianPrint · 11/07/2018 22:44

Does this mean that England lost?

jacks11 · 11/07/2018 22:44

Sharron

But why should I be gutted? It really doesn't affect me and so no, I cannot say I'm upset or disappointed. I'm not being bitter or miserly. It's a shame for the players, who have tried hard and exceeded initial expectations. But really, that is as far as it goes for those of us who are not English and not football fans.

And some of us are also relieved as we've been a bit fed up of the ridiculous hype and constant crowing. Given how long the BBC news have just gone on about it, I think the coverage had the English team won would have been insufferable.

Dumbledumb · 11/07/2018 22:44

Nice manager, nice players but they paid the price for lacking any real ability to create chances. Tbh I'm more sad about Federer loaing today

Sallystyle · 11/07/2018 22:45

I have seen a couple of posts on my FB from people who don't like football laughing about how happy they are England are out etc.

I don't get that. If you don't like football fine, but why be happy about them losing and why do they feel the need to laugh at the people who do care?

vampirethriller · 11/07/2018 22:45

No. Haven't watched any of it. I don't care about sport at all. I only knew England lost because the yelling from my neighbours suddenly stopped.

Candyflip · 11/07/2018 22:45

Absolutely gutted. I have taken to my bed. (It is only afternoon here)

SinglePringle · 11/07/2018 22:45

I’m sad for the players and the fans. And Sir Southgate.

I’m glad for me that I don’t have to give a shit about where I am on Sunday (social life dropped off a cliff at the mo and was feeling a bit FOMO about Sunday and being asked ‘where did you watch it’ for the next 20 years. Er... home... alone... would have been my answer).

Sad for women who’s fuckwit, abusive OH’s take it out on them.

Mostly I’m glad it’s over and that it can’t be used by Brexiters as some sort of metaphor.
