Of course he’s a bloody liability!! He didn’t win bebcause he’s a liability

PrincessFiorimonde · 10/07/2018 00:20

I have no time for Johnson; I think he is absolutely a Trimmer with an eye to the main chance. His only interest, it seems to me, is the furtherance of his own career.

Even some of those who used to think kindly of him seem to have changed their minds in light of his shambolic showing as Foreign Secretary. His disgraceful comments in the case of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, I think, created some unease among people previously prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. And his laughable cowardice in fleeing to Afghanistan rather than take part in the Commons vote on Heathrow showed just what Mr Boris 'Lie down in front of the bulldozers' Johnson is made of.

Sure, he'll be thinking of himself as a future PM. Probably not just now, but perhaps in a year or so, so that he'll be innocent of any blame attached to involvement in the Brexit negotiations.

Seasawride · 10/07/2018 00:23

princess

Spot on. A coward and am incompetent.

His true spots are showing and for all to see.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 10/07/2018 01:22

Won’t be long before we head Boris is challenging May

Though she seems to be surrounding herself with remainers

I hope Boris has put the final mail in his chance to be PM but I am not sure he has he is a vote winner he is the reason Leave won and the Tories want more than anything to stay in power

jasjas1973 · 10/07/2018 07:47

Can you imagine the chaos she (Abbott) could cause if Labour get in power

What worse than May, who tried to deport british citizens back to the Caribbean, forced families to be separated from loved ones, denied them healthcare and benefits! cut police numbers to the bone, inc AR officers, at a time of increased terrorist attacks?

Abbot messed up Police costs due to a diabetic episode, Hammond got wrong the cost of HS2 by billions, with no excuse what-so-ever but thats all ok.

But really, could anyone, even the ridiculous Abbott, make more of a mess than Boris or David Cameron fucking a dead pig or calling a referendum on EU membership, without a shit for the consequences?

and you worry about a shadow home sec, that in any event would be moved to a less high profile role should Labour ever win a GE.

Frazzled2207 · 10/07/2018 07:49

If this means the end of BJ's career then I am delighted. I find that impossible to believe though, he'll just be plotting how to oust TM. He's only interested in his own self.

At least DD, as incompetent as he is, stood down because he couldn't personally deliver what TM asked him to, which is fair enough. As DD himself said, dealing with Brexit is not actually part of BJ's remit and as a Cabinet Member you have to agree to disagree on some matters.

Jorah · 10/07/2018 08:07

I seriously question the competence of any party who stubbornly kept Diane Abbott in post.

The majority do NOT want her anywhere near Parliament. Shes a racist hypocrite.

20nil · 10/07/2018 09:02

We are in deep crisis and it’s not just Brexit. The current political system is not working and has not worked for the majority for a long time: public services collapsing, both major parties imploding, inequality growing etc ... It’s not good but carrying on in the same way and stumbling from crisis to crisis is not the answer. I don’t know what is, but a start would be some form of consensus/national approach in recognition of the extraordinary situation in which we find ourselves. Bringing in genuine experts would help too. This would be radical but not unprecedented.

Jorah · 10/07/2018 09:11

some form of consensus/national approach in recognition of the extraordinary situation in which we find ourselves

I think a consensus would be hard to reach. I have lived through far more extraordinary times. Apart from Brexit things aren't that bad. Compared with strikes, power cuts, three day week, bombings

Seasawride · 10/07/2018 09:22

jasjas

I sgree they are both absolutely bloody appaling. Both the cabinet and the shadow.

I really can remember such incompetence on both sides since the winter of discontent to be honest.

Putting Brexit into this is just piling on the agony

QuiteUnfitBit · 10/07/2018 09:22

Regarding Brexit, I think consensus is what TM is trying to do - which of course pleases no-one.

What was the point of voting for Brexit, if it's just like staying in the EU, but with no say? Why not just Remain, and get a veto in EU legislation?

20nil · 10/07/2018 09:23

Yes, they are that bad on a global scale, they really are. And yes consensus would be hard to reach. I’m not holding my breath but it would be the right thing to do.

Seasawride · 10/07/2018 09:23

jorah

He hasn’t much choice has he. 100 resignations of labour MPs! Chaos

QuiteUnfitBit · 10/07/2018 09:24

Brexit is one of the reason, though, that we have such an appalling set of politicians. Anyone with any calibre could get a better job which won't end in failure.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 10/07/2018 09:29

All the chaos is on the Tory side ie the government who are paid to run the country. Pathetic deflection attempts of shills and a government in their death throes..

Jorah · 10/07/2018 09:31

All the chaos is on the Tory side

Whoosie what now?

Are you on glue??

GhostofFrankGrimes · 10/07/2018 09:33

Have you watched the news over the last 48 hours? Great stuff.

Jorah · 10/07/2018 09:45

If Labour could actually organise a piss up in a brewery we might have a viable opposition holding them to account. Because Corbyns cronies are so weak and obsessed with rooting out anyone who doesn't genuflect to the Great Leader, we have a pathetic opposition letting the tories do whatever they like!

Seasawride · 10/07/2018 10:10

Ghosto

Yes awful and if only we had an opposition the vast majority could vote for.

What are shrills is that a love island term?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 10/07/2018 10:14

If you prefer the ineptitude of a Tory government knock yourself out. You get the government you deserve

BarbarianMum · 10/07/2018 10:18
Jorah · 10/07/2018 10:24

As a remainer, I quite like TMs plan.

Seasawride · 10/07/2018 10:24

Ghosto

No one deserves Corbyn. And again what are shrills you used the phrase what does it mean?

Seasawride · 10/07/2018 10:28

Thing is will Brussels go for it?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 10/07/2018 10:28

The country does not deserve to be held to ransom by the Tories civil war.
