Hairless foofs

Ginismyfriendx · 06/07/2018 01:02

So can't sleep and watching naked attraction (please do judge me, I deserve it)
Are completely bare foofs a thing now? Having had a nasty experience of an ingrown hair from shaving bikini line (which required anti-biotics) why go through that? Nevermind the faff. Who want's an evening shadow on their lady bits?
All for a bit of pruning, but uprooting?

Lying Witch LOOK AT THE DATE AND TIME OF THE POST WHERE I SAID I REST MY CASE. it wasnt in reply to you. it was in reply to the poster who was being detrimental.

You seem to be making a habit of not noticing certain things on this thread.

I dont give a fuck what other women do with their own body hair ive never criticised them for it OR accused them of wanting to look pre pubescant But i do object to the inferrence that im dirty or smelly because i choose not to /cant afford to do it all And thats the other thing here .........the refusal to recognise that some women dont have the economic privilege to do it all.

And if a lower income woman was getting all this done there would be a queue of posters telling her she shouldnt be spending "taxpayers money" on these "luxuries."

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 06/07/2018 17:31

They are not saying anything against hair keepers, Rousette, they are giving an opinion that prickles regardless. The hair removers are being told that they cannot say that removing hair makes them feel more hygienic yada yada.

Argue all you like but that is what is happening on this thread and no, it's not much of a discussion either (in my opinion), it's more of an organised rant against hair removers who are being criticised for their choices.

Perhaps if we all just shrugged when we saw these (goady) threads, and didn't post, it would all just go away and neither 'side' need feel aggrieved.

Celebelly · 06/07/2018 17:31

I much prefer it off. I've got no interest in what other people's pubes are like, just my own. It feels better for me sexually and I feel cleaner in myself.

My DP sometimes has his v trimmed, other times can't be bothered, and I don't care either way. He wouldn't care what mine is like either and has never voiced an opinion on the matter.

This thread is kind of the bingo of women making passive aggressive comments about other women's choices.

'Ooh I couldn't possibly spare the time to do something like that as I have much more important things to do!' Snark snark, said by people who apparently manage to have time to post nonsense on Mumsnet.

'I find it weird anyone wants to look like a prepubescent girl'

And so on...

If you have a glorious bush, more power to you. Your pubic hair choices are not my concern, just as mine are not yours.

HelenaDove · 06/07/2018 17:33

Agree with Celebelly She didnt use the word gross in her post/

So it can be done.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 06/07/2018 17:36

HelenaDove, it wasn't clear. I don't make a habit of not noticing things on the thread, I just ignore fatuous statements and comments that I don't think are relevant.

Again, you're banging on about being told you're dirty and smelly. You're not being told that. You don't like other people holding that opinion that hair keepers are dirty and smelly but guess what - they can hold that opinion. Nobody is saying that to you or anybody else here. Nobody. If you infer this from what somebody is saying (about themselves) then I'm afraid that's your issue.

I'm not getting into a discussion about taxpayers money, I don't care what people spend their money on but it's a drum that you keep banging; I'm not your target audience.

HelenaDove · 06/07/2018 17:39

Well that bit wasnt aimed at you Lying Witch But economic privilege does come into it.

WhiteWalkerWife · 06/07/2018 17:40

I dont wax and shave anymore i just trim which is mainly to do with sensitive skin but also, no matter how much they reassure me, i'm terrified of anything sharp or ripping near where i was stitched extensively.

WhiteWalkerWife · 06/07/2018 17:41

Although i mentioned before, i do get rid of the leg descendee.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 06/07/2018 17:49

Perhaps be a bit clearer about what and to whom you're addressing in your own posts then HelenaDove, then we won't misunderstand each other.

DwangelaForever · 06/07/2018 18:22

I shave but not religiously and deffo don't wax.

My body hair is dark and coarse. My natural pubic hair if I left it would be a big wild bush. Big wild bushes plus clotty periods do not go. So yes shaving and keeping it short does feel cleaner for me.

Ps I'm so sorry for oversharing 😂 but I know anyone who has heavy clotty periods will know the struggle! My first few years of periods were horrendous because they were so heavy and also due to pubes 😂

CoffeeOrSleep · 06/07/2018 18:43

I started waxing my neither regions back over 2 decades ago when I had a tiny bottom so wore tiny pants, but was very hairy. (Think - from a distance, looks like I'm wearing furry hot pants).

Back then, they normally waxed round your own choice of underwear (it as always a tip in ladies magazine to make sure you took the skimpiest of your various bikini bottoms to the beauticians for your pre-holiday wax appointment to avoid having do a tidy up trim while on holiday!).

A beautician I had in the late 90's suggested it might be easier to try the "new craze" of a Brazilian wax where you didn't wear any pants to have the wax and they took all off other than a little "Landing strip". I did, I liked that I didn't have to pick bits of wax off my nice pants, didn't go back to old school bikini line wax even though I now wear pants of enormous proportions .

I have occasionally use veet stuff when I've not made it to the salon/been skint, but I've never been brave enough to shave.

CoffeeOrSleep · 06/07/2018 18:48

Oh and I don't think you can completely blame porn for the Brazilian craze, it definitely was a thing in northern towns well before home internet (and therefore mass access to porn) was common place.

Roussette · 06/07/2018 18:55

Lyin your opinion my opinion, perceptions of what someone means, perceptions of what someone doesn't mean.

I have not cricitised ONE person for their choice to remove hair, not one, so no idea what you mean. I've just said that there is criticism on both sides. Everyone should do what they want and you trying to say that everyone who doesn't remove hair is criticising hair removers is totally and utterly wrong. I have to correct you on that.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 06/07/2018 20:05

Rousette, I accept the correction, you haven't. Likewise, I have been really very clear that being hair-free is best for me and that it feels cleaner for me. That's how I feel about it - for me.

The last thing I would want to do is make personal comments about somebody as I know it would upset them. I outspoken I suppose but not purposely hurtful.

This topic is really polarised into two distinct 'sides' and there seems to be no middle ground. Whilst you haven't personally criticised anybody for removing their hair, your 'side' has done just that and takes pleasure in it. I haven't seen the 'other side' make personal comments, just comments as to how they feel about their own hair removal.

Anyway, I hope that's cleared it up and I'm sorry if you felt 'got at' with my comments, it really wasn't intentional.

SoddingUnicorns · 06/07/2018 20:15

With respect, if you’re saying it’s one sided then you’re seeing what you want to see.

And telling someone who hasn’t said anything negative that their “side” has and that they’re somehow responsible for that is ridiculous. The “sides” you talk of have nothing more in common than fanny trimming or not, it’s not political allegiance!

Purplejay · 06/07/2018 20:20

I generally leave mine natural but will trim for swimming/holidays. I have tried shaving and it itches like mad. I have tried various creams and none work! Does anyone else have this issue. Even when I leave longer than the pack says only part of the hairs come out!

samenameagain · 06/07/2018 20:23

I would really recommend laser removal. I had it everywhere 3 years ago and never think about pubic or leg fuzz anymore. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. DH has never seen me with pubic hair as I used to always get it waxed, but always used to dread going to the salon for this. Now it’s just one less thing to have to fit in.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 06/07/2018 20:25

I said that I hadn't seen anything personal written by the hair-removers to the hair-keepers. By that I mean that nobody has written anything other than how THEY feel about THEIR hair removal.

It really isn't that I don't want to see it, I HAVEN'T seen it.

I talk of sides because this thread is ridiculous, utterly pointless and nothing more than a bad-tempered diatribe between posters presenting as 'warring factions'.

The thing is, I truly do not care. I will do what I want with my own body hair and I will never tell anybody else what they should be doing or that there are 'implications', or that their choices are 'rooted in porn', or that they are 'doing it wrong'. All of this has been said, ad nauseum, by hair-keepers (not all of them, but many on this thread).

If I had the inclination to go back through and do a summary synopsis of who said what, I would. But I don't so I'm not going to.

I will agree with you that it's really just about fanny-trimming and add that I think we should STFU about it.

user09876543211234567890 · 06/07/2018 20:43

Fanny trimming war! Kind of funny if you think about it.

It's making me laugh that I've spent my Friday dipping into reading about people trimming their bushes (or not).

Wonder what these conversations would be like if we had them IRL?!

Sparklingbrook · 06/07/2018 20:45

Wonder what these conversations would be like if we had them IRL?!

I don't think anyone cares in RL. It's certainly not a conversation i have ever had with anyone. why would you? Grin

SoddingUnicorns · 06/07/2018 20:47

I don’t think I ever have had this conversation in RL Grin apart from with my friend who does my lashes and waxes my eyebrows, she’s desperate to wax my fanny because she loves waxing and knows I don’t wax Grin

It’s become a running joke, but she doesn’t pressure, we just have a laugh about it.

Roussette · 06/07/2018 20:48

No Lying I don't feel got at and really hope you and others don't also.

Everyone must - and will - do what suits them personally

SoupDragon · 06/07/2018 21:00

Funny how the comments by hair removers are all “opinions” and those by hair keepers are all “attacks”

SoupDragon · 06/07/2018 21:03

Saying that “I feel dirty with public hair” doesn’t mean “pubic hair is dirty” is disingenuous at best.

Racecardriver · 06/07/2018 21:04

@chillipizza yes, just like circumcision it was originally brought into practice for 'cleanliness' which is not altogether unreasonable considering that water can be scarce in that region and it is much easier to 'cleanse' yourself after your period for your husband with limited water if you are pubeless.
