To ask what the funniest thing you've read on Mumsnet is?

There's some really funny people on here and some stuff has me smiling for days. One I read recently was about the names small children called their parents instead of Mummy and Daddy. One poster wrote that her DC called her DH "Daddy" and called her "Not Daddy" - still makes me smile.

That woman couldn't reach her tablets so sat on the kitchen cabinets for 90 mins. Then she phoned her mum and dad who took her to the Dr. Within the next hour she'd been to the Dr, been diagnosed, started the antibiotics and posted on mumsnet! It was ridiculous.

Blatantly, that was a memorably good thread. The OP took herself terribly seriously, which was the funniest thing about it. I think she had the thread pulled because she was so offended. I just remember one poster saying that the OP was the gift that keeps on giving. I did laugh at that.

Something from long ago sticks in my memory and makes me chuckle.

Someone said that when John Lennon died, her best friend misheard and thought John Craven had died and she was really upset about that.

It makes me laugh because it's the sort of thing I could imagine my friend thinking and being upset about when we were around 11/12.

I remember one where a woman was shopping in Tesco and felt something was in her shoe. She took it off, a mouse fell out and scurried down the aisle with people jumping out of the way and screaming. She told it way better then me. Also the recent thread about this ugly looking rock stuck to a posters wall, it eventually turned out to be a snail nicknamed Gerald. The poster and responses were hysterical.😂

There was a funny/embarrassing moments thread that was full of brilliant ones. The lady who said to her nanny and the nannys mum before leaving the house together 'right, lets go bitches'. POOPERTRAITOR!
Sistine Chapel was brilliant, I still laugh about that when I picture her wailing.

I have a vague recollection of a story with a lady going in her under-the-stairs cupboard to have a wee crouched over a pot or similar, as she didn't want to disturb the workmen who were in the bathroom... then her husband and other workmen came into the room the cupboard was in, and she was trapped crouching silently in the dark until they all left....? Please someone tell me they remember this!!! I want to read it again. It might have also been in a thread with lots of other stories though.

I'll see if I saved the funny stories thread on my home PC when I leave work!

Think it disappeared in Chat (sorry haven't RTFT) but the one where the OP meant to tell her DS he was being a whiny tinker and she said "tiny wanker" instead.

In a packed GP surgery.

It prompted great replies along the lines of, "sounds like a toddler class. Fucking Little Bastards at 11a.m with Leanne"

Embarrassing moments

The posters mother was being carried on a stretcher and farted and said to the paramedic "I'm so sorry Alan"

Also one poster who got out of her car on a winters night and disappeared under the car Or maybe it was her passenger. I was literally struggling to breathe at that Grin
