AIBU about weed smokers

I think that they are becoming more in common. Every time I walk around outside on the summer day I smell weed.

AIBU to think that we should not tolerate weed? It's an illegal drug!!

My neighbours smoked it on their balcony and it would come right into my home if I had the windows open. I'm totally anti drugs and do not want to live in a home that smells of that so firstly I spoke to them twice asking them not to do it then when that didn't work I called the letting agents on three occasions because they were in breach of their tenancy. Sadly that didn't work either so I started logging it with the police every time it happened. I told them that's what I was doing and since then it has stopped although I do think they may have moved out rather than stopped smoking it. The police were good and said I shouldn't have to put up with it and encouraged me to report it every time.
I don't know the impact it has on the users mental health but smelling it daily in my own home had a huge impact on mine and my anxiety was through the roof. I wish people would be more considerate when their actions impact on others.

Some skunk smokers are ok, some become losers, and some people get schizophrenia. Maybe the losers would have got there anyway, but the schizophrenics would still be ok.

Is everyone still using an example of a person they know to prove that weed is bad?

There are actually some plants that smell similar to weed, that grow naturally in some places.

I have a new build private estate near us, surrounded by countryside, reeks of weed because of a plant that grows there that smells exactly the same, council won't do anything.

I can't stand it. It stinks. My neighbor smokes it and the stench wafts over the fence. A bloke my brother was Friends with got really ill after smoking cannabis. He he a mess now so it's not harmless at all.

Curiously with all the judgement on here, if you met someone who smoked it recreationally, unless they were smoking it at that time, I bet you wouldn’t know they were a weed smoker.

I’d just someone smoking a big spliff walking down the street in the middle of the day as I would someone walking along drinking a can of special brew, but if a loser and/or an addict. It has a time and a place for me but that ain’t after school at the bus stop like kids round here do. Walked to the train the other day behind a guy having a spliff on the way, at 7am. He looked like he was commuting too. He stank of weed unsurprisingly.

You do know that there are numerous chemicals involved in the growing and making of weed though? Not arguing for or against, but it is full of chemicals whether its green or solid you’re smoking. Especially solid.

I used to smoke it when I was younger but hate the stuff that everyone is smoking now. My sons both smoke and it is horrible to witness, hate the smell and how it makes them act.

Love the it grows in the ground it's natural statement, so does deadly nightshade and foxglove but we don't consume them.

With what chemicals weed is manufactured with it's hardly natural.

I was just thinking this as I was reading through all the posts. I think if anyone outside my close circle of friends found out I smoked, they would be shocked!

@baxterboi that’s my point, I think there’s an assumption that everyone who smokes it is a drug addict or a mess. But that’s like assuming someone who drinks is an alcoholic with a can of special brew!

Some like it, some don't. End of. But the people who don't have no right to judge the people who do. Just like the people who do have no right to force it upon the people who don't. Needs to be a happy medium. The police don't even bother about charging people for it anymore, if it's causing a problem with the smell etc they just ask people to stub it out. Waste of police time, they will never be able to stop it. Why not let them get on with charging actual criminals with proper crime than smoking a bit of bloody weed. People cause trouble everyday absolutely steaming yet there's pubs everywhere. Surely some of you see my point haha!

Baxterboi and most of it doesn’t grow in the ground. You need some serious hydroponic kit to grow these super strength skunks that people smoke. Weed grown in a pot on your window ledge is not going to have the same psychotic effects as something grown in a lab where the sole purpose is getting you as wrecked as possible.

Another long term functioning user here.

I've brought up 2 children, have never been unemployed, and am an extremely dedicated and hard working employee.

I've smoked for over 25 years and the only problems I've ever had were when I briefly tried Spice as a cheaper and easier alternative. Never EVER do that. That's the crap that makes people unable to talk and function.

But I think even users can agree it stinks, smokers know fags stink? Not a desirable smell, I don't want my house stinking of it (which it often does cause of my neighbours).

I'm not against it, it doesn't bother me anyone doing it, I just hate the smell
