He's desperate to get it done and I don't mind supporting Teenagers have a bit of control over their style (within reason).

But I just told my sister who thinks that it's horrific that I'm even considering it.

Would you let your 15 year old son have his ear pierced?

No.

KlutzyDraconequus · 23/06/2018 14:14

Would you stop a 15yo girl?

Sharkwithknees · 23/06/2018 14:14

Don't see why not, at 15? I got mine done at around 8/9 I think!

2blueshoes · 23/06/2018 14:15

Yes.

KellyBailey · 23/06/2018 14:15

He's 15 years old, not months. I see no problem with it.

XiCi · 23/06/2018 14:15

What is it about ear piercing that she finds horrific? Girls normally get their ears pierced at half his age. Don't see any problem with this at all the. Is there something I'm missing here?

LunaTrap · 23/06/2018 14:15

Yes, he's 15! I assume you'd let your 15 year old DD?

mzsink · 23/06/2018 14:16

Depends on if it would suit him.

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 23/06/2018 14:16

My ds had his done at about 12. Still wears it at 16. His ears.....

Chottie · 23/06/2018 14:16

I would let my son at 15yo. DD had her ears pierced at 7yo.

mozzybites · 23/06/2018 14:17

15 is about the age I would let my DC get their ears pierced.

NewYearNewMe18 · 23/06/2018 14:19

I don't believe there are any laws governing ear piercing, therefore he can go and get it done him self, there is no "allow" about it. What will school say?

anon99827 · 23/06/2018 14:29

Why not? His body his choice. He's old enough to make decisions like that

ErictheGuineaPig · 23/06/2018 14:32

I let my 10yo ds do it, it was the same age I allowed his older sister. I don't personally like it but it's not my ear lobe.

ICantCopeAnymore · 23/06/2018 14:33

DS has his done at 10. They actually look really cool with what he's chosen to wear in them. He's a bit alternative though and has long blue hair. I think some of the studs boys can wear look a bit... Beckham try hard. Still, his body, his choice.

Juells · 23/06/2018 14:35

Yes, I would.

itsBritneyBeach · 23/06/2018 14:35

Don't see why not!

JacquesHammer · 23/06/2018 14:36

Why not?!

Greenyogagirl · 23/06/2018 14:36

If people can pierce their babies ears why can’t he decide for himself how he wants to look? Good for you

PotteringAlong · 23/06/2018 14:38

It depends whether school allow it. At my school they have to be removed for PE and, as such, he wouldn’t get them done now but would need to wait for the summer holidays.

Vitalogy · 23/06/2018 14:39

Yes I would. I had mine done when I was around 10 I think.

bakingdemon · 23/06/2018 14:45

What's his school's rule around ear piercings? Because he'll need to keep it in for a few weeks after having it done so it won't close up - if he really wants to do it, maybe one to do at the start of the summer holiday?

NomNomNomNom · 23/06/2018 14:46

I thought beyond the age of 13 they could just go get it done on their own anyway. I can't imagine anyone stopping a 15 year old girl.

SandyFagina · 23/06/2018 14:47

Why wouldn't you? He's not asking for a tattoo on his face or anything.

QueenCity · 23/06/2018 14:50

Yes, I let my DD get hers done at the start of the summer holidays just before she turned 12. At 15 he should be responsible enough to follow all the aftercare instructions.
