Perking - just catching up on the thread. OK so basically the halt to family separation is fragile and so can be reversed and the MILITARY will be housing such children so their whereabouts and conditions can be kept obscured for some kind of ‘national security’ reasons.
It’s a classic tactic of child abuse.

I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised given Trump’s contempt for the wrong sort of adult human being (immigrants, women, POC, the list goes on). But you would have thought you could expect a leader of the people would have some basic humanity for the basic needs of babies and children (anyone under 18).

What an evil sociopathic husk of a human being he is. It’s the recklessness of the damage he is doing too- making the system so shit that these families may never be reunited. It’s an utter denial of human status and rights.

That's a very careful statement by FLOTUS. She doesn't say which adults the actions were by... so this is one of those Rohrschach tests: the reading depends on the reader. Same as wearing the coat.

Exactly, mimi, it was a $36 Zara jacket. It's what made that story seem a bit off when I first saw it. When does Melania wear anything other than designer clothes? So, now I'm wondering about the rushed nature and timing of Melania's show visit. There is no way that she would ever be seen fronting any facility that was less than the image they want out there. That homey Lutheran home fitted the bill.

The tale told is that she was also supposed to visit the largest facility on the border, but was prevented by inclement weather. The weather part is true, but timing her visit to coincide with that weather as cover for restricting it to a more suitable photo op is just how they work this stuff.

So Peter Schey confirmed that the aim of the ex parte modification request is exactly to undercut the foundations of the Flore agreement, Specifically to withdraw the requirement for licensing the holding facilities and to set no limit on how long children/parents are held other than the extent of the legal proceedings.
