All they seem to represent us keeping the rich, rich and the poor, poor. There doesn't seem to be that many rich people so why do they get so many votes?

Ghosto

If you think this country is in such a mess how do you think it would be under Corbyn?

Seriously really seriously you think he coukd run a sound economy and deliver all his ridiculous promises?

Of course he couldn’t. Get a sensible alternative for people to vote for or see years of a tory government

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 19/06/2018 11:08

Corbyn, Abbott, McDonnell, Watson etc. There's no way I want any of those in government.

baxterboi · 19/06/2018 11:12

Corbyn reminds me all too vividly of the people who used to stand outside our student union at lunchtime, selling the Socialist Worker and dishing out Marxist Society leaflets. I don't think he's ever really grown out of the student-politics stage - a lot of right-on hot air, but real economically sound answers?

My partners son is just finishing up Uni and him and all of his friends are massive Corbyn fans. They have posters of him on their bloody walls!! It annoys me really because they spout an awful lot of rubbish at very impressionable students. They all vote labour because the thought they'd get student debt written off or remaining tuition fees paid!

Ohmydayslove · 19/06/2018 11:35

Well they know better now. He’s back tracked on that idea and you may depend if the idiot is still labour leader the press will bring it up again and he will have to do better than ‘we will look at student debt’

The worst thing possible for the poor disabled and disadvantaged people on this country was Corby getting the leadership.

TammySwansonTwo · 19/06/2018 11:37

Quite stunned that people are still banging the economy drum. Austerity has failed. The economy is a shitshow. What planet are these people on?

TammySwansonTwo · 19/06/2018 11:38

The worst thing possible for the poor disabled and disadvantaged people on this country was Corby getting the leadership.

Are you deliberately taking the piss? Look at what’s happened to disabled and the poor and disadvantaged under this government.

TammySwansonTwo · 19/06/2018 11:39

Seriously really seriously you think he coukd run a sound economy and deliver all his ridiculous promises?

His manifesto was at least tested by economists. But sure, the tories have done so well paying off the deficit as promised... oh.

auntiebasil · 19/06/2018 11:40

@TammySwansonTwo - the Tories will stay clinging on to power as long as this unelectable idiot is leader of Labour.
I lived through Thatcher. I've seen this before. At least Foot and Kinnock were decent people. But they still failed to beat the Tories and we were stuck with them for too long.

Ohmydayslove · 19/06/2018 11:44

Tammy

Yes I know that’s exactly my point they will go on and on because the vast majority of people in this country won’t vote labour with Corbyn in power.

He’s the best thing that happened to the tories!!

Can you really not see that! Dear God it’s painful

Ohmydayslove · 19/06/2018 11:44

Exactly auntiebasil

Vicky1990 · 19/06/2018 11:46

And just to remind you Corbin invited his IRA friends over here and praised there members who were killing and maiming hundreds of British citizens with bombs and bullets, kidnapping and torturing women and making them disappear.
The very fact that he praised them and not our brave boys and girls who were protecting us makes me feel sick.
He is making the Labour Party unelectable so that is why I vote for the Conservative party.

Ohmydayslove · 19/06/2018 11:47

And you can always get economists to back any manifesto if you pay them. Even the bat shit crazy greens did.

It’s the general public that you have to convince and they arnt stupid. Apart from some old die hard lefties and daft students no one thinks he’s electable including the sensible ones in his own party!

LellyMcKelly · 19/06/2018 11:48

I don’t vote Tory, but I can’t vote for Labour at the minute either, not with Corbyn at the helm. He may be a nice man, but he’s not PM material, and in the end that’s what matters. The Lib Dem’s are too wet and earnest, and the Greens would get elected where I live. The Kippers are repellent and our ‘Independent’ candidate was basically ToriLite. There is nobody at the minute that I want to vote for at all.

Justanotherlurker · 19/06/2018 11:57

His manifesto was at least tested by economists. But sure, the tories have done so well paying off the deficit as promised... oh.

His manifesto was tested by economists and it was deemed only slightly worse of a shit show than the current Tory one.

Justanotherlurker · 19/06/2018 12:00

he tories have done so well paying off the deficit as promised

Unless you want more austerity I'm not sure what you are trying to make a point about.

Theleftparing · 19/06/2018 12:01

Whilst Corbyn, Abbott the Racist, Lady Thornberry, Chakrabarti , Mc Donnell et al are in they will always be the gift to the Tory party that keeps on giving.

If people REALLY gave a shit about the poor, they'd get rid of these obscenities and get in good people in who are electable.

Anyone who votes Labour at the moment is making life far worse for those they claim to care about.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 19/06/2018 12:02

I don’t know how Tory voters can take the moral high ground when the cons are in bed with the DUP and sell arms to dubious countries.

Xenia · 19/06/2018 12:14

As justanother says above the Tories have been dealing with the deficit fairly well actually. Now you might want us paying a lot for our debt rather than spending on the less well off, which is fine if that''s your view but it is not correct the Tories have done badl on the deficit. However they could do an awful lot better. I would like the deficit gone and we start repaying national debt. We don't even balance the books at the moment. It seems to be spend spend spend whoever is in power - Those of us who want responsible management of the economy and a smaller state have no one to vote for as the Tories are so wet and centre.

Lottapianos · 19/06/2018 12:25

Why are people giving Emily Thornberry a hard time over her title? She doesn't use it, and doesn't use her husband's last name at all (and good for her). From what I understand, her title would be Lady Nugee and she has it through being married to her husband. Not much she can do about it other than not use it

TammySwansonTwo · 19/06/2018 12:32

Just the entire point of austerity is that they were supposed to pay off the deficit by 2015.
fullfact.org/economy/did-george-osborne-promise-eliminate-deficit-year/

A term of belt tightening to get things back on track. Except they didn’t, so here we are again. Austerity doesn’t work, and people are quite literally dying. Up next is an attack on the money paid to parents of disabled children. How anyone can vote for them and sleep at night is beyond me.

Ohmydayslove · 19/06/2018 12:33

Well if Emily hadn’t tweeted a very offensive and patronising photo of someone displaying an England flag I would have more sympathy but she clearly showed her true champagne socialist colours. No regard what so ever for working people. None.

She was also completely owned by murghan as not knowing any other foreign ministers names or indeed their sex. She’s crap.

Not as crap as Dianne whose only there because she shagged Corbyn back in the day and because there are no other decent labour MPs who support Corbyn to sit on the front bench.

Absolute gift to the tories and a catastrophy for the country.

TammySwansonTwo · 19/06/2018 12:33

It’s not about what I want, it’s about what they said they would do and about why austerity would be worth it.

TammySwansonTwo · 19/06/2018 12:37

Yeah, that Dianne Abbot - 25 year veteran, consistently re-elected, first black female MP... only there because she shagged a bloke.

Brilliant.

m0therofdragons · 19/06/2018 12:37

@eightfacesofthemoon he would have got tax credits if it happened today as dm worked but minimum wage. We're talking a number of years ago and they had £8k in the account.

TammySwansonTwo · 19/06/2018 12:39

At least Foot and Kinnock were decent people

You’ve really bought into the bullshit if you can’t see that Corbyn is a decent person. I despair.
