All they seem to represent us keeping the rich, rich and the poor, poor. There doesn't seem to be that many rich people so why do they get so many votes?

Meetoodear - well said.
They need to move to the centre a bit more.
They need a overhaul.

Ohmydayslove · 18/06/2018 21:26

And what Metoodear said so so much better. Excellent post and that totally

Heratnumber7 · 18/06/2018 21:26

I vote Tory. Always have. Who else is there to vote for? And tbh, our local Tory MP is excellent - really supports the community.

YetAnotherUser · 18/06/2018 21:28

I'm no fan of the Tories but I've voted conservative before, largely because I feel they do a better job of running the country than labour.

I didn't vote Tory last time, but even so I think they're better than Jeremy Corbyn's labour. By a long way.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 18/06/2018 21:28

*The Torres are pricks, but they're not stupid.

Labour are both pricks AND stupid.*

Agreed

Corbyn is (probably) a nice enough man
Really? He looks like a nasty piece of work/ grubby steptoe!

Gaspodethetalkingdog · 18/06/2018 21:28

J Corbyn
Abbott
McDonnell or whatever his name is

Why people vote conservative

Guacamoledip · 18/06/2018 21:30

During the last election seemed to be a load of uneducated thickos and racists that voted Tory, so that probably explains why its not just the super wealthy

Pikehau · 18/06/2018 21:30

From Ruth Davidson

“Thats the difference between our two parties: Labour is still fumbling with its flies while the Tories are enjoying their post-coital cigarette. After withdrawing our massive Johnson,”

Bearhunter09 · 18/06/2018 21:32

Because Corbyn would destroy anything good left in this country, the Lib Dem’s are not really suitable to run the government

madvixen · 18/06/2018 21:34

Wow @Guacamoledip talk about a sweeping generalisation.

I really fail to understand why it's acceptable to label Tory voters in such disparaging ways. I see tweets/fb posts calling Tory voters c**ts, calling for them to be killed etc. It wouldn't be acceptable to label any other group of voters in that way but because people perceive Tory voters as rich and posh, it seems to be ok.

The80sweregreat · 18/06/2018 21:34

They just need a new leader. ASAP. some proper direction on Brexit. Get shot of Diane Abbott and the shadow chancellor. Start again.

conservativeuterus · 18/06/2018 21:35

I often wonder why the fuck anyone would vote for labour.

The80sweregreat · 18/06/2018 21:35

I know Tories that are not rich or posh and never will be.

Ohmydayslove · 18/06/2018 21:36

uneducated thickos bad racists voted tory

And there you have the really nasty sneering patronising and stupid idiots who are now in control of labour and that’s why so many of us have left.

Very sad

Metoodear · 18/06/2018 21:36

Guacamoledip

During the last election seemed to be a load of uneducated thickos and racists that voted Tory, so that probably explains why its not just the super wealthyand this is why you will not be in power for a long time the working class and long figured out really the white middle class have nothing but contempt for them

Limpopobongo · 18/06/2018 21:39

I would certainly vote Tory. Socialism is all about giving big chunks of my hard earned money and giving it to other people whether they deserve it or not. I want to keep that to a minimum.

I did vote for Kinnock. He was an honest, decent man and a great orator.

I voted for Thatcher.

I didnt vote for Blair.

prunemerealgood · 18/06/2018 21:39

Can I ask people who think they do a better job of running the country than Labour (which is a totally valid point of view) - do you think they have made a good job of it since 2010?

lifechangesforever · 18/06/2018 21:39

Because there isn't a viable alternative right now.

I've voted Tory all my life, until the last election - because I've moved into Jo Cox's previous constituency and it will always be labour.. and I also really dislike Theresa May.

There's plenty of reasons for people to vote Tory.

lostincake · 18/06/2018 21:40

Good question. The current Tories seem like the continuation of NuLabour on steroids to me.

They seem intent on increasing immigration when their own voters don't want more and we have a terrible housing crisis, school places crisis and the NHS stretched to the brink, let alone all the cultural and social problems this is causing.

Instead of being small state, they seem to want to interfere in peoples lives even more and have introduced loads of new laws that infringe on peoples rights and seem obsessed with identity politics, punishing those with the wrong opinions and generally focusing on issues which don't affect the majority whilst ignoring real problems (crime, policing etc).

They are doing nothing to make life better for most people, will not reward hard work, have made getting a home almost impossible, reward the bankers and tax avoiders, cosy up to criminal foreign governments and have made a pigs ear out of Brexit.

They don't seem much different to Labour anymore in most of their policies and at least Labour has a leader who seems to stick to his principles!

Dragongirl10 · 18/06/2018 21:41

uneducated thickos bad racists voted tory..

Sadly Labour is the party with a real racist problem, NOT the Tories as recent events have clearly shown.

Also that language means no one will listen to your opinions, as it is purely hate speech and this is a discussion

caroldecker · 18/06/2018 21:41

I would vote Tory over a group of misogynist anti-semitic economic illiterates who hate and patronize the poor and call the rich cunts.

BartholinsSister · 18/06/2018 21:41

They probably think we need a conservative government to generate the kind of wealth needed to finance the welfare etc so many people feel entitled to.
That fancypants healthcare doesn't come cheap.

didsomeonesaybunny · 18/06/2018 21:42

I’m a staunch labour supporter but even I’m disillusioned with the Labour leadership. With that said, I vote for the party and not the leader.. Under Labour it’s likely I’d be worse off financially, however, I am lucky to be in a strong financial position therefore I don’t mind paying extra taxes so that those who cannot work through disability or require welfare benefits are able to get the help they need. I grew up in a very deprived area and saw those around me with very little suffer a little less under Labour. I think a vote for Labour is a vote for more equality.

People who vote Tory likely do so because perhaps the party benefits them financially through tax relaxations etc. they may enjoy a laissez faire approach vs Labour’s ‘nanny state’ or perhaps they have no faith in Corbyn (which I can understand).

Metoodear · 18/06/2018 21:42

Oh yes and their is lady thornbury but won’t use her title because she likes to pretend she not rich and posh just like the Tory lot

Guacamoledip · 18/06/2018 21:43

Does stating the fact that lots of racists and bigots voted Tory automatically mean I’m a labour supporter? No.
Unless you lived in a cage then you must have come across numerous UKIP supporters that hate immigrants voting for Tory’s because they thought it was a less wasted vote than UKIP and not because they had actually understood or read any policies from any political party.
