All they seem to represent us keeping the rich, rich and the poor, poor. There doesn't seem to be that many rich people so why do they get so many votes?

Sorry, to be clear - your are disputing that there are suicides and avoidable deaths relating to government policy? Is that really your position?

Ohmydayslove · 20/06/2018 14:35

The only reason Corbyn did better than expected in the last election was that people were angry with TM for calling one.

They wanted her to just get on with Brexit and get a good deal.

Post Brexit TM will be dumped and the new tory leader will win a massive majority. if Corbyn is still leader.

Hopefully labour will see sense and dump his sorry arse but history shows a party needs to really be devastated to re build.

topcat1980 · 20/06/2018 14:37

"The only reason Corbyn did better than expected in the last election was that people were angry with TM for calling one. "

That's a load of rubbish.

The tories lost a lot of votes and didn't win the UKIP vote in a lot of place.

"but history shows a party needs to really be devastated to re build."

And after Brexit the Tories will be out of power for a generation, they are responsible for this mess.

Ohmydayslove · 20/06/2018 14:38

I honestly cannot understand any sane person thinking the country would be well run or even solvent and safe with Corbyn Abbott Thornbury and Mc Donnell.

It’s a terrifying line up.

Ohmydayslove · 20/06/2018 14:39

Na *Topcat

But I bet you champagne socialist ass was amazed Brexit happened weren’t you..

topcat1980 · 20/06/2018 14:39

Yeah when Boris, May, Gove, Rudd et al are in government they really show their class.

topcat1980 · 20/06/2018 14:41

Ohmydays,

Not really, when one side promises all things to all men and the other offers status quo then there will be only one outcome.

But if you are going to present brexit as some kind of working class victory you are incorrect.

Ohmydayslove · 20/06/2018 14:43

I have not much regard for the crew you listed but the labour front bench are laughable.

Fucking hell dianne Abbott as Home Secretary!!! Seriously are you on glue because she may have been by here election performances gaff after gaff.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/06/2018 14:44

I'm not disputing anything, Tammy; I'm merely asking if anyone has independent proof for the countless assertions made. When talking about our governments killing people - as happens on here time after time - I find it can be useful to consider what the basis for the claim might be

And to be equally clear, by "independent" I mean an agency which is free from both financial influence and outside, possibly political control

Ohmydayslove · 20/06/2018 14:45

I voted remain but knew Brexit would win.

Pity your dear leader couldn’t have stood on the platform with Cameron and spoke out a bit more but then he only knows protest doesn’t he.

When you have someone like Yvette cooper with competence and class you choose Corbyn.

Insane

topcat1980 · 20/06/2018 14:47

As did Boris, Gove et al, figures wrong, and all sorts, just like Abbot yet she comes in for far more criticism.

topcat1980 · 20/06/2018 14:48

"Pity your dear leader couldn’t have stood on the platform with Cameron and spoke out a bit more but then he only knows protest doesn’t he. "

Wouldn't that be a pity that Cameron didn't appear on a platform with those of his own party because he didn't want it to be seen as blue on blue attacks?

Cameron lost the referndum, not Corbyn, the majority of Labour voted to remain, the majority of tories voted to leave.

auntiebasil · 20/06/2018 14:49

I criticise Gove Boris etc with their incompetence and lies all the time. Doesn't mean Abbott gets a free pass. Believe it or not, neither party appeals.

topcat1980 · 20/06/2018 14:50

I didn't say Abbott gets a free pass, what I said she is constantly highlighted for doing exactly the same things others did as well.

Ohmydayslove · 20/06/2018 14:52

Brexit wasn’t a working class victory!

It was a direct concequence of the political London centric elites total failure to listen to people’s worries on immigration. Pure and simple.

You say you are very rich? I bet you live in London and were amazed at the Brexit vote.

Immigration concerns were not tackled and people were told they were racist and thick to raise concerns. blah blah blah

So Brexit happened.

Labour should have been at the forefront telling people the facts. They didn’t. Because Corbyn was always anti Brussels. He’s anti everything he’s a washed up leftie who against his will got swept into power by momentum and he would have shit himself if he won any election.

auntiebasil · 20/06/2018 14:53

She rightly gets criticised with all the other incompetent fools. And she wanted to be Home Secretary, not chair of the local PTA. Don't be shit, should be rule No. 1 for high office. She fails it. As do all the Tory jokers. And Corbyn. And McD.

topcat1980 · 20/06/2018 14:55

"It was a direct concequence of the political London centric elites total failure to listen to people’s worries on immigration. Pure and simple. "

Yet the areas with high immigration voted to remain and those with virtually none voted to leave?

Right.

Not amazed by the brexit vote at all, what amazes me is the constant justification of it by people like you as ignoring people's concerns about immigration.

Most of the concerns about immigration are either not to do with EU immigration ( which will stay the same after brexit) or in areas that have very low immigration where it has become the thing to blame.

Blame Corbyn and your "reasons" for Brexit all you like, they are still wrong.

Ohmydayslove · 20/06/2018 14:56

Cameron was out of touch and stupid to have called the referendum I agree but Corbyn did not speak out at all to support remain.

Both leaders were bollocks.

But that’s past. The future could be different if labour had a sensible credible front bench. Yvette cooper could best TM at the next election but labour seem hell bent on being a party in opposition not government.

Just as Corbyn has been all his life.

topcat1980 · 20/06/2018 14:58

"Corbyn did not speak out at all to support remain. "

That's simply not true, he did, but he wasn't the leader of the remain campaign that was Cameron.

Ohmydayslove · 20/06/2018 14:58

Don’t be silly. Come to the midlands where I am. High immigration and voted Brexit

London is in its own climate.

Brexit was all about immigration and if you can’t see that you are very innocent.

And again I voted remain.

auntiebasil · 20/06/2018 14:58

What @Ohmydayslove said. Pick a better leader such as Cooper and I would vote Labour. As I have always done until this shower of teenagers that never grew up took over. I even voted for Labour when Foot was in charge and he was pretty hopeless. At least he had integrity.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 20/06/2018 15:00

Because the alternative is Jeremy Corbyn and Dianne Abbot!

topcat1980 · 20/06/2018 15:01

"Don’t be silly. Come to the midlands where I am. High immigration and voted Brexit"

But not high EU immigration Eh?

Be specific, which bit of the Midlands?

Then midlands is one area. If Brexit was all about immigration why do the majority of areas voting leave have very, very low levels of EU immigration?

Immigration btw has become the go to thing to blame for the countries ills.

But it is refereshing to see that a brexiteer is admitting this

Which specific points about immigration concern you?

TammySwansonTwo · 20/06/2018 15:04

puzzled - here’s one:
www.thenational.scot/news/14899602.Coroner_says_DWP_assessment_is_to_blame_for_suicide/

Took me 10 seconds on google. Any reason you couldn’t be arsed go look yourself?

Ebeneser · 20/06/2018 15:09

New Labour were the Tories in disguise anyway. Thankfully I was in University before they decided to introduce tuition fees, make grants practically non-existent and dilute the worth of a decent trade. Everyone should be able to go to University? Seriously? There are people who should never have gone to Uni, and would have been better off doing a trade.

I wouldn't vote Labour if my life depended on it, and I'm from a poor working class background. Under the Tories my mum (she is disabled) had her benefits cut and mobility car stopped. She has appealed and will be getting this reinstated. It was not great, but I still wouldn't vote Labour. The current lot couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.
