All they seem to represent us keeping the rich, rich and the poor, poor. There doesn't seem to be that many rich people so why do they get so many votes?

Actually that’s where you’re wrong because, regardless of your hostility, and do and will continue to defend your rights.

Thanks I am good despite what many think the working class and Are able to demand change see brexit it’s just when we do you don’t really want to listen

It’s like that comdey sketch were the do folder try’s to help the blind lady across the road and turns out she’s not actually blind and causes more chaos and actually patronises

I don’t want my working class black son to think The world owes him

He’s not entitled to anything he has to work for it
And though he doesn’t have anything he wants he has everything he needs
He is not a victim because he is black or working class or lives on an estate
Labour teaches the complete opposite to that
No thanks

TammySwansonTwo · 19/06/2018 20:22

No, it doesn’t teach the opposite to that at all.

And here you go, perhaps this will explain it whichever PP was quibbling
www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2017-40237833

They had a significant majority over every other party, since Labour made gains from other parties in addition. They ended up with 2% more of the vote than labour - not what I’d call a victory despite their best efforts.

Ohmydayslove · 19/06/2018 20:22

The reason may didn’t get the majority she wanted was because the electorate were pissed off with her having another election so close to Brexit.

The reason labour did better than expected was a protest vote for that reason and a demand to get on with Brexit and stop pissing around.

Outside of the Westminster bubble no one cares about Brexit. It’s a done deal and in 10 years Britain will be fine and more countries will have left. People care very little about Brussels.

They do care about the economy and jobs.

NHS and schools less so. People wax lyrical about both but don’t want to pay more tax. The rich including both front benches use private so not a priority.

If labour pesist with this idiot in 10 years we will have a permanent right wing government.

People’s choice.

Tammy

Your vote counts use it wisely or all the ‘throwing disabled children under buses’ will be your doing.

Vote a credible opposition leader.

"Outside of the Westminster bubble no one cares about Brexit."
Disagree.

Justanotherlurker · 19/06/2018 20:59

Doesn't matter, throwing away a majority and still leading the country doesn't somehow equate to Labour winning in anyone's vocabulary other than those of Momentum.

The fact the current shit show are still polling above labour and Corbyn comes behind "don't know" in who would make a better PM should highlight how much Labour is gaining ground.

If there was an election tomorrow the Corbyn will have to properly come out on his stance on brexit, despite he has already mentioned his intention to end FOM etc will hurt him, if as some of the momentum lot are alluding to and wait until the shitshow of brexit, then the same tactics of trying to paint Self ID, PFI etc as Tory policies will be used against him with regards to the 3 line whip and said ending FOM, brexit will bring down both sides of the political system if it turns to shit.

Any credible opposition would walk the last election and would be well ahead in the polls, the fact they aren't is not because of Murdoch or whatever strawman you will no doubt use. It starts with Corbyn himself and who he has surrounded himself with.

Vicky1990 · 19/06/2018 21:13

Diane Abbot used to go on about how good state schools are, then sent her son to a private school.
I really don't know how she could be so stupid with only one head.

LeahJack · 19/06/2018 21:15

I agree metoo, your posts are spot on.

There was something in the Spectator this week about a Tory who runs an organisation getting black kids into the best universities and is very successful.

Labour would be telling those same kids they needed to stay where they are being bitter and blaming it on other people.

Identity politics so beloved of Labour are classic divide and conquer. Telling people to hate and blame their neighbours for their problems rather than taking responsibility for their own lives.

TammySwansonTwo · 19/06/2018 21:18

Did I say they won? Would have been very difficult for them to win under the circumstances, but the increase in labour votes and the proportions of votes speak for themselves.

Anyway, I see I’m the only lefty still standing in this nice little echo chamber you’ve got going on here so I’ll leave you to it.

TammySwansonTwo · 19/06/2018 21:20

Labour would be telling those same kids they needed to stay where they are being bitter and blaming it on other people.

Quite the revisionist crap you’re peddling there - look at university admittance rates under the last labour Government. You think the elitist tories want fair and equal access to further education?

There’s no reasoning with such nonsense. I’m out.

littlebillie · 19/06/2018 21:22

Yawn troll

Ohmydayslove · 19/06/2018 21:43

auntiebasil

I probably put that wrong but I think most people know Brexit is a done deal and just want it sorted. They do care but not about the result or having another vote but just getting on and moving on.

Ohmydayslove · 19/06/2018 21:48

Tammy

Unfortunately unlike tigger you arnt the only one.

Wish you were.

another brain washed anti socialist Grin

Bed time yawn

IslaBoots · 19/06/2018 22:38

The UK would be much better off if everyone gave some thought as to how they would provide for their offspring before creating a single parent family.

How much public funding is taken from the NHS to provide funding for those who thinks the world owes them a living because they have several children with no father figure to support them?

I'm sick to death of the many posts about social housing. Those expecting people to move because they need their house to bring up the multiple children they have to multiple father's who have no intention of supporting their offspring.....Never mind the taxpayer will stump up!

This is why people won't vote for Labour. Anyone who votes labour these days is because they are expecting something for nothing.

Those days are long gone.. Thank goodness! Nobody wants to work 40 hours a day to provide income for the feckless. It is the new "I demand" parents who will be the ruin of the benefit system...

The amount of people demanding benefits now is simply not sustainable.....

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 19/06/2018 22:48

No you are right I don’t want to work 40 hours a day Shock

Even if I am and always have been a single parent family I feel there is no need to extend the day by 16 hours to support the feckless like myself

LeahJack · 19/06/2018 23:05

Quite the revisionist crap you’re peddling there - look at university admittance rates under the last labour Government. You think the elitist tories want fair and equal access to further education?

Have a look at this:

www.telegraph.co.uk/education/educationnews/7191924/University-admissions-Labours-student-drive-that-backfired.html

The numbers going to uni actually dropped 1% under Labour when EU attendees are stripped out.

Plus Labour abolished the grant and introduced tuition fees.

Tell me again how great they are at encouraging ethnic minorities into FE?

And the charity concerned gets them into good universities, Russell Group ones. Not the shit qualifications at shit universities so many students ended up with under Labour which were practically worthless.

IslaBoots · 20/06/2018 00:42

No you are right I don’t want to work 40 hours a day

Obviously a typo - typical of a labour supporter to pounce on a misdemeanor 🙄

I don't expect you would want to work 40 hours a week either...

Kursk · 20/06/2018 03:50

Bloody hell another brainwashed anti-socialist

No just a regular one

SweetSummerchild · 20/06/2018 06:48

Spend a bit of time in support groups for PIP claimants and then come back and spout your apologist bullshit.

I have actually. I’m disabled and in receipt of PIP. I’ve spent a lot of time on PIP support groups. Yes, there are genuine claimants that have been wrongly assessed (just as there were under DLA). There are also a hell of a lot of unsuccessful claimants who just aren’t entitled to it.

I don’t see what Labour plan to do differently - other than introduce a ‘holistic’ approach to disability assessment. What does that mean?

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 20/06/2018 07:31

I would rather work less than 40 hours a week

But rarely does that happen

Still I have a mortgage and bills to pay

siwel123 · 20/06/2018 07:43

Had that answered your question OP?
