All they seem to represent us keeping the rich, rich and the poor, poor. There doesn't seem to be that many rich people so why do they get so many votes?

Precisely. “Oh Corbyn is so dreadful - it honestly has nothing to do with the fact I’m a selfish arse who couldn’t give less of a shit about the plight of the disabled and under-employed. Honest.”

People can keep on banging the unelectable drum but it barely worked last time and won’t work next time now that people know it’s bollocks.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 19/06/2018 15:09

Scaryteacher did you sleep through the1980s?

Ohmydayslove · 19/06/2018 15:21

I think the main problem is so many people are too young to remember the chaos of a left wing government of the 70s and the hideous tyranny of the right wing thatcher.

They don’t seem to understand that in politics both sides, all sides break promises and don’t deliver everything but a middle ground central admin is best for the country and the people.

That’s why Corbyn is so popular with the kids. They don’t understand and don’t remember.

Creambun2 · 19/06/2018 15:22

Anyone who votes tory should hand their heads in shame.

auntiebasil · 19/06/2018 15:23

"it barely worked last time".
Aside from the stupid decision to go to war- the consequences of which haunt us to this day - the last Labour government worked pretty well.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 19/06/2018 15:24

Plenty of older voters support Corbyn. Suggesting it’s naive young folk is patronising bollocks.

The80sweregreat · 19/06/2018 15:25

The Tories rose to power on the back of home ownership and everyone being an individual ( no such thing as society) they havent really changed at all over the decades.

BlueSapp · 19/06/2018 15:27

hideous tyranny of the right wing thatcher
We all remember the damage that spiteful excuse for a human did

siwel123 · 19/06/2018 15:30

I give a shit about disabled and people without jobs.
But I also don't want someone who has supported terrorists, been anti-Semitic leading my country.
I also don't want the incipient cabinet that Labour have turning my country, have you seen abbot? She couldn't run a piss up in a brewery

The80sweregreat · 19/06/2018 15:30

ghost, most older people i know don't support him at all. they all go on about the bad old days and the 3 day week, they have long memories when it suits them. they might be persuaded to change if labour had a different take on things, but they don't. My dad is 96 and never wavered from voting labour, he remembers too well what it was like in the 30s and 40s. The Tories just appeal to people - they seem to get it right and its a mystery to me how they do it. the press does help their cause of course.

siwel123 · 19/06/2018 15:31

Wow I can't spell Grin

GhostofFrankGrimes · 19/06/2018 15:35

Swivel I’ll trade you everything you said for islamophobia, the DUP and David Davies.

siwel123 · 19/06/2018 15:39

Theresa May has been islamaphobic has she? Boris has made some blunders yes but bloody abbot.

Regardless of what you say I don't support people living in poverty but what I support is someone with half a brain leading this country.

TammySwansonTwo · 19/06/2018 15:45

it barely worked last time

By this I meant the last election - the media tried really hard to to convince the country that Corbyn was unelectable and we still ended up in a hung parliament situation. People know better now.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 19/06/2018 15:45

Someone with a brain? Have you seen how much of a clusterfuck and national embarrassment the brexit negotiations have been?

siwel123 · 19/06/2018 15:46

Yes I've. Wouldn't of been better with Corbyn in charge. Who is anti EU but then couldn't even decide which side to support in the brexit vote Grin

TammySwansonTwo · 19/06/2018 15:46

She couldn't run a piss up in a brewery

But we are run by such a bunch of pros now? Pull the other one.

Corbyn is not a terrorist sympathiser FFS. Do we really have to do this again?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 19/06/2018 15:48

The mess started with Cameron in 2015. I’d have preferred a milliband government. The country would not be the laughing stock of Europe it is now.

Gottagetmoving · 19/06/2018 15:48

That’s why Corbyn is so popular with the kids. They don’t understand and don’t remember

The 'kids' Don't have to remember anything. They vote based on today's policies.
I get sick of people harping back to the 70s or even to Thatcher.
Look at what's happening NOW. Look at the policies and intentions of the parties.
I too find it hard to believe anyone could vote Tory based on the way they disregard the poor, the vulnerable and the sick. Their intolerance to gay people or anyone different and their focus on profit over people.
Tory philosophy is deep rooted. They do not want a welfare state and they don't care if people cannot afford to live.

Olddear · 19/06/2018 15:50

I vote Tory. Happily, I'm not an uneducated thick racist.

auntiebasil · 19/06/2018 15:53

"Their intolerance to gay people " - remind me again, which party introduced equal marriage.

Gottagetmoving · 19/06/2018 15:56

"Their intolerance to gay people " - remind me again, which party introduced equal marriage

Under pressure and years of left wing protests?
I don't think you will find too many Tories in government did much fighting for gay rights

Xenia · 19/06/2018 15:59

As ever we divided down the middle on the thread and in the UK. As a Conservative I am very glad Corbyn leads Labour. He is not wicked and instead like most politicians works very hard as does May for the good of the country but he is unlikely to lead labour to victory and is a very useful tool for the Tories so long may he stay at the Labour helm.

LookAtThatCritter · 19/06/2018 16:02

Because they want to? Maybe they wonder why anyone votes labour? It’s called a personal opinion.

topcat1980 · 19/06/2018 16:03

"also don't want the incipient cabinet that Labour have turning my country, have you seen abbot? "

Yet you have a cabinet that has Gove, Johnson and Hammond all of whom got their figures wrong in interviews and have shown varying levels of incompetence whilst in their jobs?

Hmmm, wonder why you would single out a black woman over something that lots of other people have done?
