I like Cash Carraway on the whole - she has a great sense of humour and shows people what real life is like for a large proportion of society.

I'm not a fan of the stories/stuff where she interviews her daughter. I hate the tories but i don't think an 8 year old (or however old the kid is) is going to add anything insightful. And just getting her to insult them isn't going to make people think 'oh she must be right!' in the same way that showing the reality of cuts to benefits and services.

Laura Hesketh is a lawyer. She doesn't need to have stuff gifted to her. She has a particular aesthetic and if she is sharing/tagging brands that's just because she wants her followers to know where she bought things.

She volunteered to help and paid her own way on a charity trip where she did actual concrete helpful work. MOD and FOD took a freebie to nebulously 'raise awareness' of insanitary water for a soap brand.

Fivelittleduckies · 11/07/2018 13:08

Those insta stories of her daughter made me uncomfortable. Yikes, I don’t know what’s worse - advertising your children or brain washing them with your political agenda.

I’m not in any way commenting on where she stands politically (in fact I applaud that) but I don’t think a seven year old child should be expressing those opinions with that language. It really felt wrong to watch.

I have a daughter the same age so perhaps felt more confronting due to that... Confused

jamoncrumpets · 11/07/2018 13:12

Looked in on Cash Carraway. Can't really get on board with her MOD bashing unless she substantiates her argument further, and explains exactly what her issue is. It can't be just that MOD has viewed her account/stories, there must be more to it.

Fivelittleduckies · 11/07/2018 13:13

On a completely unrelated note - were FOD’s holiday outfit posts (in his stories) him taking the piss or genuine?! I honestly couldn’t tell but they made me cringe a lot

allaboardtheallergybus · 11/07/2018 13:14

@MadameGrizzly

I think has hit the nail on the head who the hell knows what’s going on, Cash/Laura could be on this thread right now.

It feels a bit icky appologise for the paranoid comment happy to accept that if MNHQ want to remove it but Cash’s stories today show a much darker side to things I quote ‘You are not going to cope with the amount of trouble that’s coming your way’

That is really quite nasty and threatening

jamoncrumpets · 11/07/2018 13:16

Instagram isn't looking like the nicely filtered playground it once was, is it? Bubbles bursting all over the place...

kirinm · 11/07/2018 13:22

No it isn't @jamoncrumpets it's been totally ruined by brands and influencers.

lifeissweeeeeet · 11/07/2018 13:23

Allergy is quite obviously MOD. The style of writing and talking has several dead giveaways (not to mention the unfaltering defence of MOD). It's completely consistent with the narcissism evident on IG.

ivegotatheoryitcouldbebunnies1 · 11/07/2018 13:25

I’d deregistered from mumsnet because it can suck up valuable time of your day getting caught up in petty arguments. But....I’ve reregistered to say cash carraways account is a breath of fresh air on instagram. It doesn’t sit well with some of you because a lot of you are not used to the harsh reality of poverty, true poverty, not not being able to afford your next boden dress, but not being able to feed you child.

Yes she says things in a blunt way that people are really not used to, what with all the fawning and huns across the instamums accounts..... But her account is one of the most interesting that I follow. How many more midi-dresses, scamp & dude, chambers and beau accounts do we need? NONE. Hers is a true to life, daily struggle account, that highlights social inequality. I like her.

And we all know Cady and Sofia are either MOD or MODS minions.

And NO I’m not Cash. I don’t know her other than from her Instagram, never met her, never DM’d her.

Don’t get caught up in the instamums clique. Be better than that.

HRHCatherinePrincessofWales · 11/07/2018 13:30

Only very easily led people could be "incited" to buy stuff they don't like, want, need or afford

And those are exactly the types of consumers who need protecting from the unscrupulous ethics of influencers.

The ASA doesn't go far enough at the moment. Hence this debate.

Essentially you're victim blaming. I find your views on this abhorrent.

lifeissweeeeeet · 11/07/2018 13:31

I agree bunnies. As for what's so "weird" (HI MOD) about discussing politics with her daughter, politics which have directly affected their lives in the most distressing way, I don't know. Political enfranchisement can begin from an early age. It's a breath of fresh air to see.

allaboardtheallergybus · 11/07/2018 13:31

I’m not MOD or her minions i can’t speak for Candy or Sophia but I’ve been on these threads many times and have seen how things escalate very quickly. It’s so easy to get sucked into these threads and yes waste valuable time

Madame’s post has made me think again about Ig and Mumsnet it’s all a bit twisted so I’m out of commenting any more. I hope it all sorts itself out but the bubble is definitely bursting maybe for the good?

kirinm · 11/07/2018 13:33

I'm not a person who usually falls for advertising but put me into a situation where I might be feeling vulnerable - maybe just after having a baby - and I could see myself starting to feel bad about an inability to buy / do all the things the instamums can do. I'm heavily pregnant now and have unfollowed most of them.

lifeissweeeeeet · 11/07/2018 13:33

Quite right Allergy (MOD), you should be offline and enjoying your holiday after all.

CadyHeron · 11/07/2018 13:34

And we all know Cady and Sofia are either MOD or MODS minions

No, no really really not. Carry on with your paranoia though. It's quite funny.

CadyHeron · 11/07/2018 13:35

Hang on, hold your horses! Hold the phone. Allergies MOD now?! It was apparently me who was MOD on the other thread.
Honestly, it's laughable.

lifeissweeeeeet · 11/07/2018 13:39

You think one person can't run more than one username? That's laughable. I haven't read enough into your posts to speculate if you're MOD or not, but I'd bet that you're a friend. Which is also laughable.

CadyHeron · 11/07/2018 13:43

lifeissweeeet if you care to read back, I do not sock puppet, I changed back to cadyheron for this thread as had a name change a bit ago. Because somebody asked where I was and I answered.
So if you're insinuating I do sock puppet, that's off.
I've never met MOD in my life. I never even mentioned bloody MOD first, but now I'have no doubt it'll be accusations from some of OMG you're obsessed, you LUFFS her. Hmm

CadyHeron · 11/07/2018 13:48

This thread is fucking batshit.

PeppaP · 11/07/2018 13:53

I don’t understand why you can’t stay away cady , why you’re so invested. I don’t think you’re MOD but I do think you like to be the ‘defender’ and love stirring up. But what do you really get out of it to be so persistent?

EeebyMum · 11/07/2018 13:53

Hold up. Wtf. I thought NB was MODs mate, but she’s now on the side of Cash Carraway (who the fuck is that) who hates MOD and her girl gang, and now they’ve formed an opposing girl gang of 3rd tier influencers. Eh.

PeppaP · 11/07/2018 13:54

NB jumps on whatever bandwagon will give her the most exposure.

EeebyMum · 11/07/2018 13:54

Ugh just watched Cash Carraways stories. She’s just rude and now I feel grubby.

EeebyMum · 11/07/2018 13:55

True @peppap

PeppaP · 11/07/2018 13:55

But where are you seeing that she’s on Cash’s ‘side’?
