That Chris Ingham story is very odd have they said anymore about it? There was something on Twitter

HRHCatherinePrincessofWales · 11/07/2018 12:09

I take it you don't feel they could lead to her being bullied?

Possibly.

Personally, I wouldn't do that with my own children but again, it's missing the point. She didn't get paid to post those stories of her daughter. Her account isn't monetised as far as I can see? If that's how she wants to run her personal instagram account then that's up to her.

Where it becomes objectionable is when feeds monetise their accounts, using their children as leverage, and then target and solicit me (and others like me in the right demographic) to buy from them, or via them.

I might not make the same calls as her regarding how much I feature my children on my feed, but she's not exploiting her kid to try and flog me stuff, so...

HRHCatherinePrincessofWales · 11/07/2018 12:13

She states that Kirsty Allsop "hates the disabled" amongst other things. Where the hell has she got that from?

I can't comment specifically on the disabled thing, but if you've ever seen KA on the panel of Question Time, you'd discover she's actually quite right wing in some of her opinions.

Don't want to derail with politics though. I'm apolitical anyway. Like the FBI.

Furfugsache · 11/07/2018 12:17

KA is a Tory supporter whose policies do little to support disabled (or any disadvantaged groups tbh). I sincerely doubt she personally “hates the disabled” but I imagine this is more an extrapolation of her political alignment.

Sofialemon · 11/07/2018 12:18

@HRHCatherinePrincessofWales

I'd far rather see insta feeds with kids playing and being kids than being used to express an opinion on politics. It's not ok to teach children to call anyone "fat, pigs, ugly" etc. I'm quite appalled at that.

Re Kirsty being right wing, yeah she probably is, not sure how that means she hates the disabled or when she has said or done anything to imply that? To state that as a fact on a public insta account is pretty shocking.

Okay. But unless or until she monetises her child's appearance on her feed, it's completely irrelevant to the debate.

Well, given that the Tories' austerity programme has decimated living standards and support for disabled people, it's not a massive intellectual leap to infer that if you're a Tory you probably don't give that much of a shit about the disabled.

Sofialemon · 11/07/2018 12:32

@HRHCatherinePrincessofWales

I don't think it is irrelevant. She might not be using her child on insta to make money (although given her situation I'd be surprised if she'd turn down doing paid content) but she is using her to make political points. She has over 10000 followers and it's a public account.

I'm not getting into politics but to state by voting Tory it must mean you hate, or don't give a shit about the disabled is ridiculous.

Lotsofdigestives · 11/07/2018 12:37

I’m unclear, but I think, think cash thinks mod is talking about her on these threads. Happy to be corrected though.

Sofialemon · 11/07/2018 12:38

@Lotsofdigestives

Yeah she definitely does, no idea why though.

PeppaP · 11/07/2018 12:39

It seems that she does think that lotsofdigestives but it sounds like people sending her messages and just stirring the shit.

HRHCatherinePrincessofWales · 11/07/2018 12:45

But she’s not inciting anyone to do anything is she?

Furfugsache · 11/07/2018 12:46

No ideas at all Sofia?

allaboardtheallergybus · 11/07/2018 12:50

She’s clearly paranoid who thinks and behaves like that?

Furfugsache · 11/07/2018 12:54

I’ve reported that as a personal attack Allergy.

PeppaP · 11/07/2018 12:56

What is she thinking and behaving like to make you think that allergy ?

Sofialemon · 11/07/2018 12:56

@HRHCatherinePrincessofWales

Only very easily led people could be "incited" to buy stuff they don't like, want, need or afford. Which is why I have no issue with instagram. It is massively used to market products, both transparently and non transparently, as is various other media, but no one is forced to buy anything.

PeppaP · 11/07/2018 12:58

It’s not that simple Sofia . Everything needs to be advertised, it is being done in an underhanded way on IG. How can you not see that after being on and presumably reading all of these threads?

allaboardtheallergybus · 11/07/2018 13:01

She thinks that MOD is saying stuff about her on here? That’s pretty paranoid behaviour don’t you think?

Moonkissedlegs · 11/07/2018 13:02

Wow, I had never heard of Cashcarraway before this morning and just checked out her stories.

Woah! I have missed something somewhere big time!

Instagram seems to be eating itself!

I’m sure MOD is too busy buying wicker baskets to log onto mumsnet but you can’t go around calling people “paranoid” and not expect to get pulled up on it.

PeppaP · 11/07/2018 13:03

Not when MOD has talked about her before and has been blocked and still watching her stories. She really needs to read this thread herself though rather than just hearing about it and drawing conclusions that way.

Lotsofdigestives · 11/07/2018 13:05

You don’t get any of this on the cross stitch IG accounts

Lotsofdigestives · 11/07/2018 13:05

Maybe MOD has someone handle gas n air for her? And they watched it?
