spag I'll do exactly as I like....hope that helps lovey!!

RunMummyRun68 · 10/07/2018 11:57

Thanks to this thread I've found MP. And I love her!

She's very relatable, unlike MODFOD where it's just cringe cringe cringe

Fluffyrainbows · 10/07/2018 12:00

@spagbolfortea44 chill. It's quite interesting really given the ethics and circumstances. It's so bizarre this weird protectiveness for people who are trying to make money out of others. Influencers are a business, a brand, a family brand. This one is very misleading. It's not bitchy to discuss these very valid points. And actually the fact she's deleted questions about there house and circumstances is in itself quite strange as there is nothing wrong with social housing and being grateful for the step in life it's given you. In fact they could do a lot of good with the truth of this situation.

3asAbird · 10/07/2018 12:04

Moon kissed legs agree there in lies part of her problem.

As viewers and grammers we accept vloggers advertise and get some freebies.
But we want some honesty about it and any reasonable questions answered without being accused of being a jealous troll and to jog on.

She shows serious lack of judgement at times.

Why link my sick baby is not sleeping with what's clearly an ad for gap.
I'm sure gap dont want to be linked to a negative post.

So are the dresses the 2 children wearing freebies from gap.
Is she being paid to share?
Or both its just not clear

The support pampers charity give money to midwifes as paid ad annoyed a few people.

I think if my baby was still poorly and not sleeping last thing on my mind would be ads and social media but guess she has deadlines and maybe they all close together so so many new things to rave about lately.

She knows certain topics provoke controversy or questions

Usually

Kids clubs
Term time holidays

So for her to expect no negativity about this is baffling.

The £300 a week manny must have been free.

She has to accept shes been on crazy amount of holidays in 2018 2 very close together and safiya has missed around 7 weeks of school this academic year regardless of fact scotland dont fine thats a lot of time missed.
They must have an educational welfare officer up there and I very much doubt the head is supportive.

Adding fact their children have been ill at resort and on plane and their reaction was to do a few vlogs moaning about it.
Doubt passengers on their planes were too happy either.

If they start moaning about safiya being unsettled at school or has poor behaviour but not accept they are part of the problem and maybe they need to travel less then poppy might settle and go to sleep.
Babies like routine and hers is all over the place.

I think all these inappropriate non disclosed ads will eventually damage her following.
She gained a few when she did slimming world a week the did a blog like she was a consultant/ expert or something.
Was all done for extra veiws.

Hence the many click bait titles

She's clearly running out content.
Each vlog is so samey.
Once she loses viewers trust shes done for.
She's always posing and wanting fan girls positive comments .
You look so fab. You such a great mum.
I do look at comments and wonder what makes so many women so obsessive about her wanting to know where she buys everything and seeing her a great role model with aspirational life style they aspire to.

Most if her followers would be made up to have a house as lovely as hers.

Shared ownership different to renting social housing shes not taking a house off a family off social housing list.
To buy shared ownership you have to have money and an income but it can be great way to get on housing ladder and get some equity.
Maybe they dont have mortgage and parents funded their share of house so they just paying low rent hence high disposable income.

stilldazed · 10/07/2018 12:16

Thing is, the Meldrums are fairly vacuous as a couple...he doesn't work, she has never had a job and once they stop having babies, really what is there to talk about...primark hauls, going for coffee and identikit package holidays where they don't leave the resort.

Surely this has a limited shelf life and that is why they exploit/use the children so much to advertise, they want to make money why they can

PeppaP · 10/07/2018 12:25

Can we really not come up with something less misogynistic than ‘bitch’ to get our points across?

nipersvest · 10/07/2018 12:32

There is no legitimate purpose for you to have this information

A description of pretty much every 'influencer' post on instagram Grin

LalaLeona · 10/07/2018 12:33

Alot of people with too much time on their hands on this thread.

PeppaP · 10/07/2018 12:36

PeppaP, Cash's stories suggest that the big instamums' followers had sent messages to Cash, not that the instamums themselves did. I think that's a fairly important difference. Cash decided to block MOD and MP herself, which is fine, her choice. I can't imagine MP setting anyone onto anyone else, the idea of that is laughable.

I think that’s part of it, there are some very loyal followers who feel the need to honour and defend. But why do they feel that way? It’s certainly not discouraged. Also it is the insta mums bringing their followers attention to Cash’s stories, they can’t innocently say they didn’t expect follow up.

nipersvest · 10/07/2018 12:40

Lalaleona, with all due respect, no-one needs your permission to share their opinion on a thread.

Furfugsache · 10/07/2018 12:40

PeppaP, it could quite easily have been fans of Blur that took exception to the stories Grin

Did the Instamums draw attention to Cash's stories? I didn't see that.

Furfugsache · 10/07/2018 12:41

I think Lalaleona may have been referring to Spagbol Wink

Fluffyrainbows · 10/07/2018 12:41

@LalaLeona a lot of people with too much time on their hands on mumsnet and Instagram.
Many influencers work by being relatable and by making followers feel like friends, it becomes completely normal to know huge amounts about these people's lives/work/children and I think that shows in posts on here. Just how much is shared and how misleading it is.

nipersvest · 10/07/2018 12:43

Furfugsache, fair enough, carry on... Wink Grin

RunMummyRun68 · 10/07/2018 12:48

Well I'm still no wiser as to what that big window at the rear of the property actually is!!

PeppaP · 10/07/2018 13:01

fur Grin I didn’t think it was very nice to call AJ a shit bassist but agreed with the whole thing about it being a smug feast fest. What she’s saying is that her stories were shared and tagged among some big insta mums but I didn’t see that as I no longer follow any. I can well imagine some of the messages she would’ve received though.

Furfugsache · 10/07/2018 13:12

Peppa, I thought she was implying they had shared them on private WhatsApp groups. I didn’t see any sharing (but I don’t follow all of them). I was only half listening to her though but that’s the impression I got

HebeMumsnet · 10/07/2018 13:14

Morning, everyone. Just a quick reminder that we're happy for people to have an ethical debate about this but we will have to delete any posts that tip over into personal comments and general nastiness. And if there's too much of it we will have to delete entire threads eventually, so please do keep the debate civil and pleasant.

We've also deleted what seems to be a link to a page that identifies an influencer's home. Regardless of whether it's possible to find that information on the internet, we think it's a bit much to post it on a thread here and isn't really a necessary part of the debate, so we think it's best to refrain from that sort of thing, please.

Thanks!

Moonkissedlegs · 10/07/2018 13:33

Yeah I agree that it's a bit much to posts links to their house.

But the fact that people are able to do that, and able to so easily identify where the Meldrums live is pretty horrifying in itself!

RunMummyRun68 · 10/07/2018 14:02

their youtube vids give all that info.....there was actually nothing new on the link

Spagbolfortea44 · 10/07/2018 14:20

@RunMummyRun68 It helps that Mumsnet has stepped in to curtail your bitchy take down of The Meldrums. It would seem doing 'exactly as you like' is not going well for you....to the point where you actually are not permitted to do after all. Smile.

3asAbird · 10/07/2018 14:29

Run mummy and moonkissed legs post valid points.

I dont know Scotland at all only been there once so I dont recognise any of places they visit or go to.

But i guess local Scottish viewers fans would have some idea.

They posted their p.o. box address last year so people could send them gifts.
They dont blur out easily identifiable things like car registration and people have commented before be more careful about protecting your privacy.

They done so many vlogs and posts about their house.

People are naturally nosy and if someone says they selling house many would browse right move.

A freind shows me link to her house sale after reading about it in another forum.
I really dont think she should have revealed shes selling until shes moved in order to protect their privacy but I guess she thinks makes interesting content.
As now its easy to find by anyone online.
Also it's revealed a key fact about shared ownership they never disclosed.
They done a few finance style vlogs lately giving people financial advice.
There's no shame in shared ownership but would have been more interesting if they had talked about this scheme and raised awareness.

Also when you go away police advise you don't post pics until you get back as you advertise the fact your property is in fact empty.

I get the fact they keen make as much as they can but they have compromised their privacy and quite possibly their safety by revealing too much.

There are other mummy/ family vloggers who are much more careful and don't reveal as much.

TheLadyhasarrived · 10/07/2018 14:52

I have wondered how sharing some of this could affect things like home insurance?

RunMummyRun68 · 10/07/2018 15:06

sorry to disappoint spag but I've already clicked on the link!!

so, yeah.....i did exactly as i liked! can't unsee it now.....but revealed nothing much new. Lee's drone footage reveals more!!!

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 10/07/2018 16:36

Aside the Meldrum house link @Spagbolfortea44, the nasty comments that were removed were about MOD/FOD actually.
