Yes, I'm not sure what to make of it either fluffy. It leaves a nasty taste to be honest. Just the vast level of "spending" that they show off about. Their lavish lifestyle doesn't really fit with the purpose of those types of homes, which are to help those on low incomes. Fair enough, their situation may have been different when they bought it. I have no idea when she started blogging actually.

nipersvest · 10/07/2018 09:44

the mofod's on holiday, I hope the villa owners aren't on instagram, some of the posts make it look like they are trashing that villa.

And fod's post throwing one of the twins in the air, I really dislike anyone using 'cardiac arrest' to make a joke.

As someone who has survived a serious heart issue, and who knows the survival rate of a cardiac arrest is only about 8%, it's just not funny.

3asAbird · 10/07/2018 09:45

It was me who posted link but got mumsnet to delete as had their address although lots viewers pointed out they slack with security ie car number plates clearly on show all the time and lots of local viewers clearly know where they live.
I think its quite rural and remote as they seem drive a lot and they live next to a busy road as always noisy in the garden.
I guess they brought when eldest was younger as shes year 1 now and age 6.
It's definatly there house listed in their council's website as has inside pics.
Not sure how much they paid as value increased so they may have some equity.
Basically they own half the house and council own the other half its my understanding that they have mortgage for half they own then pay rent.
I'm surprised they been allowed to get rid of garage and convert to snug.
Not sure house prices round there way but 171k would only buy a 2 bed in the South West.
Also our area has these schemes but they very sought after and no way as big or as nice as theirs so maybe they dont realise how lucky they are have house so big.
Lee said other week utility room is essential with 3 kids.
I have never seen a 4 bed one ours are 2 /3 bed shoe boxes on big new estates with small gardens.
There is income limits her listing says you have to earn 59k to buy their property so maybe it's like mortgage calculations on affordability.
I have no idea why they never disclosed this fact.
A few viewers asked and they deleted the comments.
It just doesn't fit with affluent middle class image she tries to portray.
Have been baffled how they save hard when they spend so much.
Working on rigs I assume pay was high but not to match current rate of spending.
It might be tricky and longer to sell theirs if theres specific conditions attached to buying with this scheme its not like open market.

I really feel they should have kept quiet about house move in order to protect their location and privacy.

She was always sharing right move links to her parents mansion for sale.
Or their holiday let flat on air b&b in the royal mile.
Maybe they downsized and will buy them a new house to live in.

Really intrigued what she hopes to move to that would be better than what she's got.

Lots people said her earnings are not that high.
Maybe she has creative accountant who keeps their income low therefore worse off if Lee goes back to work.

I dont understand why lees not bored at home.

The freebies help I guess but they dont pay utility bills or the food.

She really seems to have no shame she would go to opening of an envelope for a freebie.
She's not selective.

I'm not being a troll. Making personal digs about her marriage or her looks.
What annoys me and most others is her lack of transparency.
Deleting comments or questions
Getting defensive and abusive when people ask about safiya missing so much school.
She must have know that manny pic would garner so critical comments surely?
She took a break for all of 24 hours whilst Lee went on about how unfair it all was.

She's recently posted vlog about online shopping with old blond hair people say shes posted an old vlog as she had to advertise quidco.
Other you tubers been talking about quidco but clearly labelled it an ad.

Her vlog seems be advertising quidco and sainsburys.

I dont think channel mum do pay much think 200 a month something like that.
But of other vloggers have mentioned they given gift cards to do hauls and all the channel mum's seem to do content and same hauls at the same time which makes me wonder does she pay for her hauls.
Does she return a lot to Primark when filmed.
Does she just wear for a photo then spend rest of day in joules?
She spends a lot on Amazon and Asos.

Her doing anything with Iceland is hilarious as clearly she hates that brand.
She only cooks when its an hello fresh week.

When she did a home tour saying she was moving house I thourght i wonder how much is gifted.

As I think it was made who were gifting sofas.
She has a made her.
She got free mattress other week God that was boring the as a mum we all realise the importance of a good nights sleep.
She tries weave advertising into vlogs but they still come across as boring advert.
Other you tubers do it better.
In their utility their washing machine and drier look identical like identical brand made me wonder if they gifted.
We just dont know as she never declares as a gift is not classified as an ad.

@nipersvest I have a funny feeling the holiday the MOFOD's are on is the one they planned and paid for, for quite sometime. I agree they are showing some fairly strange footage for a holiday rental, I'm pretty sure he was posting about the twins pooing in the pool? Although as he made such a big deal of toilet training them months ago, I can only now assume he had run out of ideas that week and thought it would be funny and relatable but actually the twins are not toilet trained at all.
I have only followed the Meldrums a relatively short time since just before Lee gave up work, and it's a very odd set up. He's praised Bec for making a business out of IG/YouTube and gets to golf and go to a heck of a lot of baby head wetting. But she doesn't seem to deal with any questions she doesn't like (common theme with influencers... we can try and get you to buy things you don't need and make money out of you,but you mustn't query us) and they get quite unpleasant when questioned. Yet actually they could have done this very differently.

Bumpitybumper · 10/07/2018 10:04

I watch Mrs Meldrum loads and I am really quite surprised the holiday was gifted. I just assumed she loved Nielsen holidays due the lack of #ad and the fact they were there with friends but now I feel a bit duped to be honest. Doesn't she realise how damaging this kind of thing is to her relationship with her audience? I'm now left with a serious distrust of anything she recommends or appears to love and quite frankly would probably now think negatively of any brand associated with her.

The whole sickness bug thing was also Shock and their complete disregard for other people in the resort/on the plane was pretty shocking. I had so much sympathy for them when I thought Florrie had been struck down with the bug on the holiday they had probably saved for (ha!) as it's pretty much every parent's fear, but then the way they seemed to make no effort to actually contain the sickness just made me angry. That selfishness could have ruined so many other families' holidays who had spent their own money.

The shared ownership thing also surprises me and I don't know why. Maybe it's because they try so hard to be aspirational and they appear to have so many material possessions that it's just hard to imagine that they needed assistance to buy a house. Obviously that must have been in the past and their circumstances have changed beyond recognition, but it just seems incongruent with the image and I guess dream that they try to project.

Furfugsache · 10/07/2018 10:06

PeppaP, Cash's stories suggest that the big instamums' followers had sent messages to Cash, not that the instamums themselves did. I think that's a fairly important difference. Cash decided to block MOD and MP herself, which is fine, her choice. I can't imagine MP setting anyone onto anyone else, the idea of that is laughable.

Moonkissedlegs · 10/07/2018 10:11

MOFODs stories are making me feel a bit sad. They have gone for a lovely meal with the two eldest girls, it feels like is should be some nice quality intimate time together without the twins. And they have spent it taking photos to share with millions of people.

I agree with people who say that those girls will look back on their childhood photos and not be able to tell if it was an authentic memory being captured, or something staged for likes.

Clemmie took that time out to 'reflect on things' but nothing has changed has it? In fact the older girls seem to be featuring more again at the moment.

steamboatwilly123 · 10/07/2018 10:14

The Meldrums house is on Aberdeenshire council website, stating the income threshold to apply is £59,000. I live in a shared ownership property (which would fit in their extensionHmm) and there are strict rules on what we can and can't do with our property. We can extend etc, but the council had to approve plans first and we have to use one of their approved contractors to do the work, which are normally the highest priced too, so I'm surprised they managed to do that garage conversion. I would have thought the council would have frowned on taking the garage away?

steamboatwilly123 · 10/07/2018 10:16

I used to be a big fan of Mrs Meldrum when Lee was still offshore, she seemed quite down to earth back then. I've unfollowed recently due to the persistent holidaying, then coming home bemoaning Safiya isn't settling at school, it's no wonder really is it? Also the claim they are educating the kids by taking them away so often, only to dump them in the holiday club and swan off on a jet ski. Hmm I feel sorry for the kids really.

nipersvest · 10/07/2018 10:17

@fluffyrainbows yes, I think they've paid for this too. If I had a villa, I wouldn't want them as guests, yes they could promote it but at the cost of looking like its being trashed.

nipersvest · 10/07/2018 10:23

MOD taking time out was nothing more than a distraction technique/her chucking her toys out her pram at being caught out via dm's.

Would not surprise me one bit if she was one of the bigger grammers currently being talked about for bitching.

Still laughing at the irony of the whole mumsnet/instagram thing, the gram infighting is far worse.

Moonkissedlegs · 10/07/2018 10:35

Mrs Meldrums latest post.

'My baby is sick and not sleeping, screaming all night, its awful...... Aaaaaaaaaanyway here is a picture of her in a lovely Gap dress and here is an advert for Gap competition for which I am being paid'.

It's kind of sick really.

eggandspoonrace · 10/07/2018 10:41

I can't believe how many fluff their hair and pout down the camera whilst stroking their new dress to show off whilst their baby is crying in the background - talk about priorities!

eggandspoonrace · 10/07/2018 10:43

There's a you tuber banging on about her child's anxiety yet seems completely oblivious to the fact that her you tube channel and the fact he's now known to everyone may be playing a part. She could put her camera down and spend more 1:1 time with him - again, shitty priorities

RunMummyRun68 · 10/07/2018 11:29

Can anyone pm merge link? I can't find their ad on council website

RunMummyRun68 · 10/07/2018 11:30

*pm me the link!!!

Spagbolfortea44 · 10/07/2018 11:40

If the information you are seeking is not easily accessible within the public domain I respectfully suggest you mind your own business. Viewing the listing is nothing whatsoever to do with #ad and or IG influencer explotation of children.

RunMummyRun68 · 10/07/2018 11:43

spag so what?

Information Is all very accessible @spag.

Spagbolfortea44 · 10/07/2018 11:50

Bitch klaxon! There is no legitimate purpose for you to have this information - which would be viewing and or considering purchase. You want this information purely to bitch about The Meldrums. Grow up!

Furfugsache · 10/07/2018 11:51

Spagbol, the thread is about ethics in general.

Fluffyrainbows · 10/07/2018 11:55

The swimming costume/bikini stuff is odd. I don't have the greatest figure. In fact I probably would not put a bikini on even in front of family as my wobbly white bits in my opinion look better covered by a swimming costume. This week has seen MP and unmumsy and MOD all share photos in swimwear which I wouldn't share on social media. It doesn't empower me or make me think 'yeh let's just share swimsuit photos' I just think, why? Fair play wear it but why share you are wearing it? Attention? Daring people to say something controversial so you can have an argument? Clemmie's was shared by Boden on Instagram because it was a Boden costume. I generally rate MP highly and find her trying on clothes stories very relatable and funny but something about all this body power misses the point with me.
