Yeah, an expensive freebie which obviously doesn't work as mr m went and got an injection from a private clinic to prevent hayfever!

Fluffyrainbows · 09/07/2018 17:41

@poppytosh oh good grief. Missed that.

poppytosh · 09/07/2018 17:46

That's the thing, I do still watch their vlogs when I should really stop as they irritate me now however it does mean I notice these things which makes me even less inclined to take their recommendations/ads seriously. I surely can not be alone in this so what are the companies getting out of it? Do you think people have seriously wen out and spent £400 on an air purifier on their say so?

3asAbird · 09/07/2018 22:23

The meldrums are the worst for not declaring freebies.

I think within the last month based on you tube and insta.

They got free readymeals and baby food from sainsburys.
Garden furniture from Asda

We know their regular food shops are Aldi/ Tesco

Free holiday Neilson x 1 or 2 who knows?
I did wonder who goes away with freinds was theirs free too.
Also most holidays you pay in advance before holiday not settle the bill after unless it's a hotel or b&b so probably was room service as ppor Lee was stuck in room sick and think one vlog mentioned room service as she said she was going out with her mate leaving sick husband and child at holiday apartment whixh I thourght was dire as worse thing about being sick adult is looking after a sick child.

Free cooler system
Maybe a free fridge with camera in it.
Free pram
Free baby activity centre

Free baby plate I suspect laser boutique gifted as wooden bunny plate cost £22.
She likes tagging small businesses as I think she gets lots if freebies from them.
She did when she had poppy.
Even when poppy was in nicu she was advertising her p.o. box and got sent so much from fans and small businesses.

She's inconsistent never keeps things up.

Cutting back/ budgeting laughable as they appear to keep buying.
They failing to disclose their quidco add recently.
Don't get me started in Cleo spending app where she pocketed £5 for each person that signed up..

They saving hard for new build.
But then I discover their current house for sale is shared ownership with her local social housing provider on market for £171k. It's huge and lovely baffled why as never seen anything like it in England.
Easy to save I guess when getting lots freebies.
She's been asked about it on insta and you tube but deleted the comments.

Clearly she likes to be perceived as wealthy/ affluent.
Her parents clearly are.

Jazzersize did not last.

I find it odd how active and sporty she is at neilson yet doesnt do much at home bot even taking her to kids to swim at kippie lodge health club.

Slimming world was short lived probably done to gain viewers.
She needs to stop saying shes tiny and size 6 she clearly has issues then preaches about body positivity.

I wish she stop banging on about gin.
Also use normal voice with the baby.

She's advertised ellas kitchen and sainsburys baby food shes hardly fussy.
Least no multi vitamins lately.

theladylovescupcakes · 09/07/2018 22:32

@3asAbird shared ownership? Really? You've literally said most of what I was thinking re Mrs MGrin

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 09/07/2018 22:57

I think I did hear one of them say the ASDA garden furniture was a gift, or sent to them to test out (which is surely the same idea).

Furfugsache · 09/07/2018 23:09

Neilson are family sporty holidays so to advertise it effectively you have to show off the activities. It’s nonsensical that the Neilson spamfest wasn’t declared as an advert.

Gifted is a massive loophole that needs to be closed.

I’d like to know what the deal is with Bicester Village. I can’t understand why bloggers shlep all the way up there so often. There must be some incentive in place but I’ve never seen anyone disclose anything.

BeautyBox · 10/07/2018 06:15

Changing the subject slightly, how long does a response from the ASA usually take? I submitted a complaint just under a month ago and have yet to hear anything back. Is that fairly normal? The acknowledgement email said they aim to respond within 10 working days or something similar

SmittenApril · 10/07/2018 07:02

3asABird am shocked to see the Meldrums house is shared ownership with the council. So that's obviously the way to do it, keep your actual income low enough to qualify for this scheme while living a life of freebie holidays!

stilldazed · 10/07/2018 07:45

meldrums shared ownership???? so someone genuinely in need misses out...nice.

And what was all that bollox about "stepping back"

RunMummyRun68 · 10/07/2018 08:15

Shared ownership? I'm not familiar with that

Is it social housing of some sort? The Meldrum??

SmittenApril · 10/07/2018 08:28

Yeah a type of social housing where you own a percentage and the council own a percentage and you pay rent on the part you don't own.

It's a good way for low income families to purchase property. When it's sold you only make the profit on the % you own and the council make the rest.

Fluffyrainbows · 10/07/2018 08:34

There was a link on here yesterday to the property, but it's gone. Lovely house for social housing, but how weird. Not really how they present themselves and why would they be selling after such a short time?

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 10/07/2018 08:42

Wow. It's all such a farce. Low income family, eh. What a joke!

Cashcarraway’s stories today talk about how she has been bullied by the big insta mums & blocked them. Surprised she included MP, thought she was one of the good uns. Seems there’s a lot of sinister shit going on via PMs etc

wheezing · 10/07/2018 09:07

So I know Next do affiliate links because Feathering the Empty Nest is always doing them (and disclosed as such, so no issue).
Giovanna Fletcher is always linking to Next clothes via her stories too (she does it a LOT) but never disclosed as affiliate. Maybe they’re not? But why would you devote so many stories to the outfits and link them if you were getting nothing in return?
She seems completely lovely .. but I notice it time and time again on her Instagram.

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 10/07/2018 09:10

Where's the Daily Mail klaxon. Can see it now. "Wealthy Media family in Social Housing Shock!"

Three foreign holidays and counting this year... And of course, as far as we're all led to believe by them, they pay for everything 🤑

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 10/07/2018 09:12

Giovanni Fletcher is a (paid for) children's clothes ambassador or something like that for Next. She has mentioned it a few times. But there probably should be something with every mention/link really.

RunMummyRun68 · 10/07/2018 09:19

So you can make extensions to social housing? The meldrum recently added a new room..... and painted all the wood frames white!

wheezing · 10/07/2018 09:24

It definitely should. The way that the stories are put out are “oh I’ve been getting so many DMs about the boys shoes so here they are” as if there is no affiliation, when obviously there is.
It was the same as the Avon thing. Talking about her great Avon nail polish or whatever BEFORE announcing that she was working for Avon. Nothing is ever, ever marked #Ad.
I have unfollowed before but then I go back and follow again because her stories and family life seem genuinely happy.

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 10/07/2018 09:26

I had to double check as I couldn't actually believe it was runmummy but found their house fairly quickly with a bit of googling. I didn't see the link yesterday. It is definitely a shared ownership as listed on their local council's website. They've mentioned the village they stay in a lot and there's not that many of them on the market there.

Odd that they've spent so much on it in the past year though. Or have they? Have all the materials and services been gifted?! Hmm

Fluffyrainbows · 10/07/2018 09:30

@spongebob the post yesterday said that they can make money off the property and the profit is split with the council each receiving the percentage of what the own. So I guess they've had a low enough income to get the property, quickly increase the value and sell it on?
Not sure how I feel about it or then after that to be honest. I know plenty of families in social housing and we've been on lists for years but no one is in a position similar to them.

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 10/07/2018 09:33

I though Giovanni Fletcher had improved her transparency actually. She got a bit of flack for adverts a while back and seemed to take note. I wonder if they know they've mentioned that it's a sponsored post a few times they don't have to keep doing it, but I'm sure not all their followers see every story or remember. I certainly don't.

I noticed Louise Pentland had about 10 stories yesterday on benefit make up. Total overkill but each one was headed up with the official "paid partnership with..." header. That's all that's needed.

Fluffyrainbows · 10/07/2018 09:36

I still have the link on my phone to the property details. How the heck did they get that. No wonder they can waste so much money doing hauls in primark.
