To wonder how many of you are ready for hard Brexit, after today's Common's vote?

Because that's what's now happening, very soon.

PS According to the civil servants I know, it will be utter chaos - there has been literally basically no preparation for this at all. Because the bloody politicians can't make up their minds for what they want/expect to happen. So there are no contingency plans whatsoever.

Hope you're happy and looking forward to the chaos if you voted for Leave.

The absolute and only bottom line is, is my democratically elected government acting in our counties best interests for the safety, and health and prosperity of its citizens.

The eu fails on safety straight away.it does not act in safety of citizens or anything else.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 13/06/2018 21:56

I think everything will be ok in the end. But we might have to go through several decades of shit to get there. 😔

I agree that many people voted Leave as an act of defiance against governments who seemed to be ignoring their needs. It's just a shame that leaving the EU will give even more power to those politicians, not less.

I wish bloody Boris and Gove hadn't run such an (accidentally) convincing Leave campaign. Their faces on the day of the result were two masks of shock and terror - like they couldn't believe they'd actually won.

I wish Cameron hadn't waltzed off, leaving us all in the shit.

I do think it'll be ok. Somehow. Sometime. Hopefully. But perhaps not in ways we could have expected. And not without a LOT of upheaval.

Paid trolls!

Really!!

Whenever I have dipped into these threads the main poster I remember was banned.. A rabid remainer who was vicious... Spewed out crap in huge amounts.

Then another suspiciously prolific poster who is surprise surprise on this thread!!

flibbertyfive · 13/06/2018 21:59

Havanananana - fab comment, love it!

Bullshit, anyone can take a case to the ECJ as the UK has over air pollution.
UK likes to think it has super high animal farm standards, not always true. but regardless, Farming is about 1% GDP, pig farming would be absolutely tiny portion of this and most of this is super intensive pig farming as the consumer (us) demands cheap meat.

But i do agree that the UK has some of the lowest death rates per 100k employees in the EU... are you complaining about that?

Ohsuchaperfectday · 13/06/2018 22:01

No.

People have endured a massive uncaulable amount of shit since the eu. Thier lives and standard of living have plummeted. Things can't get worse.

That's why so many voted leave.

You know what gets me is I can see both sides. I can see benefits of the eu.. If you you asked me to argue for either side I could put up a good fight. Which is why it concerns me some people cannot see for a moment why anyone would vote leave.

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 13/06/2018 22:02

If renainers wanted new vote why didn't they flock to lib de.s

Because as said above Lib Dems didn't stand a chance in many constituencies. UKIP got more votes in mine, sadly. I wanted the Tories out more.

flibbertyfive · 13/06/2018 22:02

Ohsuchaperfectday - name and shame.

Do you mean watchingwithinterest , who seems to have gone off his shift now? He has been pretty offensive throughout this thread, eg calling other posters thick etc.

Ohsuchaperfectday · 13/06/2018 22:04

Jas I'm sorry but you Google eu pig farming standards etc.

The eu can have all the rules it wants everyone knows it has no teeth and no actual standards.

The UK has much better standards!! In many many things.

flibbertyfive · 13/06/2018 22:06

"People have endured a massive uncaulable amount of shit since the eu. Thier lives and standard of living have plummeted. Things can't get worse. "

You must be quite young to post this. You obviously don't remember that in the early 70s, prior to joining the EU, Britain was known as 'the sick man of Europe', our economy was so bad.

Joining the EU saved us. Just as it has Greece - hence why despite everything, Greeks voted by a large majority to stay in the EU.

No-one else in Europe is copying us. No-one else is that stupid. The rest of Europe just stares at us in bafflement and wonders why we're committing this massive act of national self-harm.

siwel123 · 13/06/2018 22:06

I was just commenting that it is usually the remain voters here on droves and today it's leave voters don't shoot Grin

I agree I think as a remained myself and other remain voters have to accept brexit will happen and we eksve and we know need to push our government to egg us the best deal.

Dapplegrey · 13/06/2018 22:07

funny, I sense more paid trolls than MN usually attracts.
Op are you saying that all the paid trolls are leavers? None from remain?

time4chocolate · 13/06/2018 22:08

But s/he did fuck off literally the day of the referendum, job done no she didn’t Smile

Ohsuchaperfectday · 13/06/2018 22:08

Ah yes joining the eu saved us... Saved us.

And... What at that exact point did we join!

What was the arrangement and agreement.... Ever closer political union??? Social union? Or something to do with business and economics...

Buteo · 13/06/2018 22:10

flibbertyfive claig (in their many guises) dropped Brexit as soon as the vote was in and switched to working the Trump vote. He/she/they eventually imploded one night quite spectacularly.

siwel123 · 13/06/2018 22:10

We also need to mention before we joined the EU was a very different time to know. That was in the 70s and we're a bit past that now Grin

Ohsuchaperfectday · 13/06/2018 22:12

Massive act of self-harm.

Like staying out of the euro.
Etc etc

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 13/06/2018 22:12

Ohsuch, and what will be better now that we are leaving?

Ohsuchaperfectday · 13/06/2018 22:16

They built... You should know this why don't you.

I could argue for each side but leave wins. Why haven't you informed me yourself of both sides as well?

time4chocolate · 13/06/2018 22:16

flibbertyfive claig (in their many guises) dropped Brexit as soon as the vote was in and switched to working the Trump vote.

She called that right too Smile

Ohsuchaperfectday · 13/06/2018 22:18

Time 4, do you remember name of nasty poster who was banned?

Buteo · 13/06/2018 22:21

She called that right too

I think claig was just following instructions.

HateIsNotGood · 13/06/2018 22:24

Oh boohoo OP - I call foul. This thread has found common agreements between Leavers and Remainers (mostly wine-based) which is a good starting point for negotiations - just add some sun and cheese [and bread] and we're all good for a chat.

But no, the likes of you come wading in to our very decent discussions calling troll. ODFOD and HTH for your own thread.
