to feel like something isn't right? 19weeks pg and feeling a bit weird...

Not sure if this is my maternal 'need to protect' instinct kicking in. Had morning sickness for a few weeks in the beginning. Almost gone completely now. Had a lovely lazy weekend but haven't felt right since yesterday.

Feeling very sick, but not like morning sickness, nor like a bug. Just very nauseous. I also have a headache (I'm well hydrated and don't get headaches - ever!). Feeling quite dizzy, and just want to sit and do nothing. I don't know why but I just have this strong gut instinct that something isn't right.

AIBU to feel like this? AIB silly to want to get checked out with my gp? I rarely go to the docs but just feel... weird!

Thinking of you OP. you're right to go and get seen

crispysausagerolls · 11/06/2018 13:14

OP I hope everything goes well, and I think getting everything checked is sensible. Just to reassure you a bit, I had severe headaches for 2 very random weeks mid-pregnancy. I was sleeping and drinking enough so no idea why, just happens I guess due to hormones! Good luck

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 11/06/2018 13:21

Hi op, really glad you are going to and get checked out.

I don’t know anything about Stafford I’m afraid but maybe get a taxi? I know hospital car parking fees can be huge!

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 11/06/2018 13:23

If you do drive and end up being admitted I’m sure if you speak to the ward sister they’ll be able to help with parking fees as per singlebutmarried’s experience x

Clubcuts · 11/06/2018 13:26
Thanks
MamaNenwa · 11/06/2018 13:48

Thanks all. I'm 40 mins away from the nearest hospital so a taxi would likely cost more than parking anyway! Here now, waiting to be seen. Fingers crossed!

Blood pressure 110 over 65. Phew! Being sent to ambulatory care for more tests.

Hope you are okay. 💐

mommybear1 · 11/06/2018 14:21

Glad you are getting checked OP. Re parking I agree with the other posters the ward sister should know if you are kept in - we are all still here if you need a chat to keep occupied while you are waiting Cake

MamaNenwa · 11/06/2018 14:24

Thanks everyone. They think it might be my gallbladder. If not, they have no idea. Just so glad preeclampsia is ruled out as was getting quite worried. They're getting someone more senior to do an examination so hopefully I'll know soon.

JELLYFISHANDCHIPS · 11/06/2018 14:26

Glad you have gone to be checked. When my daughter had to stay in hospital overnight after what should have been a check up, someone on the ward called the parking attendant and they noted my reg number and I wasn't charged when my ticket ran out.
Let us know how you get on

MamaNenwa · 11/06/2018 14:39

Had bloods done and have to wait an hour for them to come back (super quick!). Just a waiting game now... feeling sick!

So glad you’ve been seen xx

Chewedupcucumber · 11/06/2018 14:53

I had this in my last pregnancy on and off. I eventually got preeclampsia at 31 weeks, but felt ill for ages beforehand. I think it was my body not working properly before the proper symptoms showed

WyldDucks · 11/06/2018 14:54

Call your midwife but that sounds like my pregnancy,my blood pressure is naturally low and in pregnancy I got vertigo like dizzy spells which are apparently perfectly normal, I also felt very blue for the whole period of pregnancy. Essentially nothing very wrong but enough for me not to enjoy it (but I got through it twice!).

MamaNenwa · 11/06/2018 14:55

I'm at the hospital wyld - getting checked over as we speak!

Good luck OP.

Anyone ever managed to pee in a urine sample pot without getting it all over your hand? Grin

TriedToLikeOlives · 11/06/2018 15:16

I really really don’t want to be alarmist at all.

They thought it was my gallbladder but it turned out to be my liver - it was swollen to twice it’s normal size. I had HELLP syndrome.

I was discharged before having to turn the car around.

Please make sure they are sure - it took them a week to diagnose me.

Good luck & really hope everything is ok 💐

* no never!!

Hope everything is ok OP

By the way, Stafford A&E - bloody brilliant! Triaged, seen and had bloods and examination done within an hour! So they tend to see pregnant people more quickly? Never experienced anything like it. Fab!

Motoko · 11/06/2018 16:02

When I've had to give a urine sample in hospital, they've always given me one of those cardboard bedpans to pee in, then they pour it into the pot. It's much easier, so perhaps you could ask for that.

Karigan198 · 11/06/2018 16:06

Hey high progesterone can cause both nausea and headaches so it’s probably nothing to worry about however there is nothing wrong with seeing your midwife to get heartbeat checked for reassurance :)

Wishing you and your little one all the best

LittleMissB83 · 11/06/2018 16:06

Headaches and nausea always worth checking out from the second trimester of pregnancy, HELLP syndrome and pre-eclampsia are the most dangerous possibilities as some people have already said. It's unlikely to be that but I had similar symptoms at 20 weeks pregnant and they did some blood work which threw up useful information about liver function. And you do get the Ritz treatment in later pregnancy! From 20 weeks onwards you should be able to go to an antenatal assessment unit for specialist care.
