to feel like something isn't right? 19weeks pg and feeling a bit weird...

Not sure if this is my maternal 'need to protect' instinct kicking in. Had morning sickness for a few weeks in the beginning. Almost gone completely now. Had a lovely lazy weekend but haven't felt right since yesterday.

Feeling very sick, but not like morning sickness, nor like a bug. Just very nauseous. I also have a headache (I'm well hydrated and don't get headaches - ever!). Feeling quite dizzy, and just want to sit and do nothing. I don't know why but I just have this strong gut instinct that something isn't right.

AIBU to feel like this? AIB silly to want to get checked out with my gp? I rarely go to the docs but just feel... weird!

Sad

Spoken to 111 who told me to contact my gp and see them within two hours (as predicted). Will try and find a number for midwifes!

There is something called hellp syndrome that has right upper quadrant pain

MamaNenwa · 11/06/2018 11:24

where I did see this but mine is right by my belly button and HELLP/preeclampsia both seem to cause pain higher up. Going to try not to speculate and worry myself too much and hopefully when I do get to see someone they'll be able to rule anything too nasty out!

I hope you get seen today and everything's okay.

BuntyCollocks · 11/06/2018 11:43

I think your best bet would possibly be labour ward if you can’t get your midwife. She may be on a day off. They should be able to point you in the direction of day bed/antenatal, who will at least see you, and if required, will be able to get a doctor to review you as well.

MamaNenwa · 11/06/2018 11:50

Hi bunty - waiting for my doc to call me back now. Fingers crossed! Pain is getting worse. I have a suspicion it might be my gallbladder, but hey I'm no doctor! I'm hoping it's something minor anyway...

Hope you're ok op Thanks

MamaNenwa · 11/06/2018 11:55

Can I just say, mn is bloody amazing! Thank you all for sharing your advice and appearing to genuinely care about a complete stranger. It means the world and has made me feel slightly less alone Thanks

Op you have all the symptoms I had in my last pregnancy. I was also 19 weeks. I had a constant pain to the right of my belly button, fairly sharp. Felt sick, a bit shakey and just generally not right.

I spent all day in the EPU and the only thing wrong with me was a UTI.

Definitely keep contacting someone and get in to be checked but don't panic, it's probably nothing x

AdelesBeard · 11/06/2018 12:03

Without alarming you I'd ask for a blood glucose test. If you are peeing every 20 minutes and drinking like a fish you could have gestational diabetes, or even Type 1. The other symptoms you mention can be the result of very high blood sugar readings. Do get checked out asap.

MamaNenwa · 11/06/2018 12:06

Thanks both,

I am due a GTT later on but weirdly only 10 weeks before my due date. I would've thought they'd want to check earlier. Sure they know that they're doing though!

I've been told to go to a&e however no trains where I am (I'm in the sticks) so going to have to drive with Thea banging headache. What a pain! Off we go...

OP posts:
MamaNenwa · 11/06/2018 12:39

If I drive to a&e and get admitted will I end up paying a shit load for parking?

OP posts:
Gunpowder · 11/06/2018 12:40

Glad you are getting seen OP and hope all is well.

Bambamber · 11/06/2018 12:42

Yes parking will cost a fortune, is there no one that would be willing to give you a lift?

Gunpowder · 11/06/2018 12:42

Where I live you can top up parking on your phone so I did that until 6 when it became free. Is there an option to do that? Or is it worth parking a bit further and getting a taxi/uber?

MamaNenwa · 11/06/2018 12:44

Literally nobody in the area. I live a long way away from the hospital and DP is working away. Mum and Dad are both 200 miles away. We moved here because his daughters mum moved here so we don't know anyone as we have only been here a few weeks. I'm going to have to drive (very slowly) and find somewhere to park nearby.

BrutusMcDogface · 11/06/2018 12:47

Thinking of you love, drive safely and hope you get seen soon Flowers

Sallystyle · 11/06/2018 12:49

Thinking of you Thanks

Annabelle4 · 11/06/2018 12:52

Thinking of you OP.

These things are usually nothing to worry about, but always worth getting checked out during pregnancy Flowers

MamaNenwa · 11/06/2018 12:52

Thanks everyone. Does anyone by any lucky chance know if there's anywhere to park near Stafford County Hospital that's free?

Singlebutmarried · 11/06/2018 13:00

Re parking: I’ve been admitted after driving myself before and spoke to the ward sister who gave me the number of the parking man and they gave me a weeks pass x

Badbadtromance · 11/06/2018 13:03

Thinking of you op. Got everything crossed

currentcosleeper · 11/06/2018 13:07

How about a taxi? If head doesn't feel too good maybe driving is a bad idea. Hope you're ok Thanks
