Disappointing to see Meghan morphing into Kate?

I've just seen the pictures of the Royal Family on the balcony for the Trooping of the Colour parade and it really seems like Meghan is being turned into a Kate clone, with the slightly odd old fashioned clothes and badly curled hair? I had hoped they palace would let her be herself.

I think she looks great. I’d love to look that awesome. I’m envious!

Firstly, I wear my up daily and let it down for special events.
Also, nobody would be telling me how to wear my hair!!!!! Clothes maybe, but hair - Nope!

I do wonder why people feel the need to have a go. If I looked anywhere near as good as either of them, I'd be happy. Whatever I was wearing.

Making a statement that Kate looks unhappy from a photo or brief tv footage is daft. She may look a bit unhappy at this event but maybe she could do without it seeing as she's a new mum , doesn't mean she's unhappy constantly.

Ok this is off topic but this is a thread about the Royal Family at a military event. My question is:
The army swear allegiance to the Queen so if the government and the Royal Family came to blows, as it were, which side would the army take?

I don5 think she looks unhappy, she just has a bit of a stern resting face, whereas Meghan is probably more conscious of her look being an actress.

Both women, although not beautiful can look attractive. Just goes to show what big money can do for the average woman. I think most of us could look good if we had the same advantages that they have.

I think they both look very nice - deliberately and excessively demure - and entirely appropriate for the pomp, formality and media coverage of the occasion. The royals always paint the portrait of themselves that they want us to see at such state events. Perhaps the hats afford them some modicum of privacy?

very much wife to the future monarch I totally agree with this. I can't help but admire Kate for the grace with which she conducts herself and her role.

Somehow, to me, Meghan looks slightly 'pretty and wholesome Californian girl next door' but maybe that's my projection.

Anyway, they both seem like decent human beings and if I have to endure the perpetual Royal Family Parade embodying and exemplifying the iniquitous class system, I don't mind that it's them.

I think that they look perfectly fine for the occasion they're at. They married into royalty, they took on a job, so to speak. I have to dress a certain way for work, so do they!

I don't think Kate looks sad, she just looks thoughtful. She knows Megan is going to take the limelight for a while. I think she's secure enough let her and not outshine her and not worry. She had plenty of smiley photos at the wedding and garden party. I think people and the media almost seem to want another Fergie/Diana comparison, which did neither of them any good at the time.

I read a copy of Paris Match this week. They were talking about how Megan has ditched her low cut necklines and short skirts for her new royal highness role. They described her as wearing a very British hat at the garden party for Charles. It was likely this one. I found it quite funny!

I just wonder why MM holds up her left hand to display her wedding ring and engagement ring in nearly EVERY photo? It seems to say 'look everyone I'm MARRIED'.

She probably does it subconsciously, because she only just got married and it's all new to her and on her mind. The same way that pregnant women cradle their bumps even if there isn't much to cradle yet.

I always wonder where Andrew and Beatrice's bulging eyes came from. I mean Beatrice's came from Andrew, but what about him. Are there any bulging eyed monarchs a few generations back?

I think Kate must just treat this like 'work' - not that it's work like what the rest of us do. But goes through the motions and wears boring (albeit hers are v expensive) clothes. Hence she looks like she could do without it (of course this is what she entered into. But I would have been bored today)

Did Henry V111 have bulging eyes? It's not a good look is it.. I can't stand Andrew, an appalling man, seriously dodgy too.

I liked Meghan's dress. She looks very nice.
Kate has changed her style like in last 5-6 months I guess. She is a new mum and I dont think it is easy for her with 3 kids but she is lucky she has a very good family.

Maybe it's subconscious. For years Kate used to push her hair behind her ears using her left hand, this showing her rings too. So what?

I swear to god I don't know what some people expect them to wear. Imagine if one day they just couldn't be arsed and appeared on the balcony in leggings and vest tops!

I don't know about that but he's certainly updated his wardrobe since meeting her. No more dad jeans for Harry!
