Neither Miller nor Yearwood have got times that would be remotely remarkable for boys (200th and 443rd respectively) but they are smashing the girls' records out of the park as now they identify as girls, they're allowed to race them instead.

Watch the face of the girl who comes third. That's pretty much her best ever 100m race. But she didn't win.

It is not just two girls they have displaced.

a whole column of girls has been bumped down the list one place in their respective schools. a girl has missed out on winning their school competition, she displaced the second girl who displaced the thrid into a non medal position. then another girl did not get on the team and is in the juior team. there more girls are dispalced. one who should be on the junior team does not get picked at all.

repeat in the other boys school.

perhaps there are district championships where more girls miss out on going to state.

then at state championships, everyone gets bumped down two places.

there are many more girls effected by this than boys, but it is the boys who get priority. How is that fair?

For adult vocal tone and pitch, birth sex very much does make a difference. There are some interesting case studies around on Howe transition in either direction affects the singing voice. So for pre-puberty voices, there would be little difference if any between boy, girl, trans boy or trans girl voices, but for adults that's not the case at all.

A trans woman singing in an all female choir at competition or a trans man in an all male choir could be considered as a fairness issue in a similar vein to sports.

I an ideal world, that discussion could take place without deliberately misgendering named individuals, as that's one of the lines drawn in the sand by MNHQ. It's a shame to see so much of it happening on this thread, especially since the people being discussed are children.
