To wonder how many children you’d have, in an ideal world?

I’ve just had one and I can’t decide whether I’m done, or I want 20! 😁

If you didn’t have to worry about health, money, job, the pesky practicalities... How many children would you have (/had)? Why?

One. That's what I have.

Hope to one day feel as lucky as you, @MissCherryCakeyBun. We've only had a little pressure but it's upsetting to hear anything when you're already struggling.

I have 4 and feel very blessed. It's a good number.

I have 3 but if money was nonissue that I could have a housekeeper,cook, gardener and what I like to call a floating nanny to stay while some are napping etc I’d have 4 or 5!

Even forgetting the £ aspect I have no time for more than 3

6 but I have 5. I’m pretty sure there’s a woman at one of our schools who’s just had her 8th.

For me personally? One.

My OH always wanted siblings though, so it's a maximum of two.

Hoping for a boy and a girl.

4 and I’ve been very fortunate to have 4. 1 boy & 3 girls...

I have 3 and am happy with that, it’s a nice number but if money were no object, I could have a cleaner and my insides weren’t a mess after 3 sections I would have had 6.

I have 2, a 16 month old and a 7 week old...I am well and truly done...no desire for a 3rd at all.

1. But I have 2 and I think we’ll stick to two. Finances/space/ASD daughter makes things difficult, she’s coped well with one sibling, I don’t know if she would cope with another.

Two. I always wanted two, don't care if they were boys or girls.

After having DS I'm not doing it again - found pregnancy and birth traumatic and for the sake of my mental health I decided not to do it again.

In an ideal world I would have continued with all 5 of my pregnancies and had 5 kids. As it is I have 3.

None!

I have 2, really wanted 3 but we could not afford to have another.

If the world had endless resources and so did I, I’d probably want 5. Also, in this scenario, obviously, these 5 pregnancies would take zero toll on my body and the children would all get on like a house on fire always .

Irl, i have two dcs, which I somehow justify to myself, as dh and I are only replacing ourselves. My body, wallet and mh probably would be pushed too far by any more babies. So we’re sticking with two.

If i didnt have to do the housework and work and money wasnt an issue and i had a mansion i would have about 20! We have 3 and would like 1 more. That would be us finished.

1. 1 boy 1 girl. 5-6 years between them.

I have 2 boys and 2 girls so am pretty happy with that. But i would have another I think but that’s probaly just because I’m in my 40s now and very unlikely too so just want what I can’t have.

More money and better medical services with third pg and birth - like we had with first two pg - we'd have had 4.

More money and more support -not sure but more and probably related to how much of both.

We have three and are happy with that - be easier with more money and support so glad we stopped there.

If I was loaded and had a cleaner the 4. In my real world I'd like 3.

But I've never been pregnant and through labour yet, so that number might be brought down to 2 or 1.
