another CF holiday situation

Booked a swim up room, there are four ground floor apartments in a row, all of us have booked swim up rooms and paid a supplement. Upstairs neighbours currently in our pool, shouting down from balcony, throwing inflatables from balcony. They have climbed over the wall at the end of the pool to get in.

Sorry, but your DH is strange. I would be at the reception desk the minute they entered my pool. It is not your job to confront them - hotel management will do it. Leaving them to enjoy it will make them think that it is ok. Before you know they will say that they did it yesterday, so what is the problem now.

If you don’t speak to them they will be there every day!

You have gone out and left them in your pool??

Grow up and chuck them out. I’d probably ditch your dh while you’re at it for being such a wet lettuce.

We left our inflatable by pool while we went out came back it was on someone's balcony

One time on holiday had a woman walk up and lift our pool hammock from right next to our lounger. She was seriously pissed off and swore at me because I took it off her. Some people are downright brazen.

OP, no way would I go to brunch and leave them in your pool. If they want a swim up room tell them to go pay for an upgrade.

You and your DH are both total drips.

They’ll use it the whole time if you say nothing, especially if they think it’s a public pool or belongs to their apartment too. I get that you might feel bad embarrassing them but you can explain politely and get reception to deal with any problems. Unless you want to share the pool for the rest of your holiday?!

The minute i’d have seen the inflatable being chucked down from their balcony i’d have dashed out and thrown it out of the pool.

If they somehow did some damage surely you might be liable as it is supposed to be for your use only? Definitely tell them to get out. What if they fancy a 3am swim?!

Strange thing to post on MN just deal with it by contacting hotel reception or just tell them it is a private pool and please leave.

Is it a swim up room (ie a main pool with a kind of stream that goes to an area outside your door) or is it a separate pool?

If it’s a swim up joined to the main pool then you may have a problem. You have paid for the ability to swim from your door to the main pool rather than your own private pool so the management may just confirm that it’s not your pool and the neighbors are entitled to be there.

I know this won’t be a popular post but thought I would warn you that the management may say tough.
Having said that, they will probably make a goodwill jesture including recompensing you for the additional price you paid for the room.

cblue that makes sense, if it’s a channel going past lots of rooms to join the main pool I guess you couldn’t keep that exclusively private.

So you turn a blind eye and go off for your lunch, then you have zero legs to stand on if they're still there when you get back because you gave them the nod by letting them stay and not saying anything. Get them out ffs!

It's just a room with a pool directly outside. Couple of steps from the patio doors usually. Small "plunge pool" type rather than a large main pool.

I don't think a swim up room is a small plunge pool. I think it's where you can get into the pool directly from the patio of your room, like in the attached pic.

Lacuracha - yep. That’s what a swim up room normally is, and nope it’s not normally a private pool.
Still worth complaining to the management though especially if they are throwing things down from the balcony and making a noise.
