Booked a swim up room, there are four ground floor apartments in a row, all of us have booked swim up rooms and paid a supplement. Upstairs neighbours currently in our pool, shouting down from balcony, throwing inflatables from balcony. They have climbed over the wall at the end of the pool to get in.

OMG! Is it at least children who don't know better?! Reception now! Complain immediately!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 02/06/2018 10:02

Have you not been out there and told them to get out??

PolkerrisBeach · 02/06/2018 10:04

We stayed somewhere like this in Crete - the ground level apartments had a small private pool (maybe 10m by 5m) which they could use if they didn't want to use the main pool. Upstairs apartments did not have access to the pool. We were upstairs. Never crossed my mind to climb a fence and invade someone else's space.

Are these people British or of a nationality which would understand "fuck off out of my pool"? If they're not, I;m sure there are people on MN who could help you out with similar phrases in German / Lithuanian / Russian.

I'll start. In Spanish - "Fuera, cabrones".

KitKat1985 · 02/06/2018 10:07

"Bugger off and good day to you" is the appropriate Mumsnet response here.

Although you may need to translate it to the appropriate language if they are not English speakers. Grin

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 02/06/2018 10:07

Cheek! Ring reception!

MoonfaceAndSilky · 02/06/2018 10:07

Ha, this happened to us last year. It was the kids from upstairs and they didn't speak English. They left after a lot of hand gestures and pointing.
I suppose they think it's theirs as well because they overlook it.

Buxbaum · 02/06/2018 10:08

Phone call to front desk to complain, then go out there and tell them to get out of your private pool!

Yes call reception to get the CFs out.

Where are you staying?, is it nice, I have always fancied a swim up room.

Heroo · 02/06/2018 10:10

Open your patio doors and shout “out, what do you think you’re doing??? Get out of here - this is a private pool!”

ChasedByBees · 02/06/2018 10:12

Have you got them out yet?

Chapterandverse · 02/06/2018 10:14

What is a swim up room? Second time this week I've seen it mentioned on here.

We usually go SC Blush

Flyme21 · 02/06/2018 10:18

Unbelievable. Why would you sit and watch that happen? Just get off your tablet and tell them to go away.

PolkerrisBeach · 02/06/2018 10:19

What is a swim up room

It's just a room with a pool directly outside. Couple of steps from the patio doors usually. Small "plunge pool" type rather than a large main pool.

snewname · 02/06/2018 10:20

Get them out one way or another.

Cornishclio · 02/06/2018 10:21

We went to a resort in Crete with a swim up pool. I think probably people could access them by climbing over the low wall at the end of the pool but it is pretty obvious that is not a resort pool but private to the suite.

You have paid extra for a PRIVATE pool so tell them to leave politely and see what their response is. Any problems tell the management.

Cornishclio · 02/06/2018 10:22

Surely if you walk out on to your patio it will be obvious the pool is part of your suite?

TimeIhadaNameChange · 02/06/2018 10:24

Strip off and start shagging your DP in the foom that opens onto the pool. That'll get rid if them soon (you'd hope!)!

Alwayslumpyporridge · 02/06/2018 10:28

Gone out for brunch, will update on return. It’s a woman and child. They have a giant inflatable.

If they are still there when we get back I will say something, DH is sulking as he thinks we shouldn’t say anything so this CF has really pissed me off, if she hadnt got into our pool we would be having a lovely chatty brunch and looking forward to going back to relax!

We booked the swim up room For the first time, for numerous reasons and it’s been great so far.

Why do I read these threads? They drive me mad.

Stand up for yourself and tell them to get out of your pool. Or ask the hotel manager to get out of your pool. They will. Job done.

Ffs.

PrimalLass · 02/06/2018 10:29

Why didn't you chuck her out? She'll do it every day now.

Buxbaum · 02/06/2018 10:30

WTAF??? Why on earth didn't you tell them to get out?

Muchtoomuchtodo · 02/06/2018 10:30

I hope by now that you've told them in no uncertain terms that they shouldn't be there and followed up with a call to reception?

For those of you who fancy a swim up room, we went to this hotel in Mexico www.grandrivieraprincess.com/family_club.asp which had loads of swim up rooms (not private pools though). If you book a family room then you get access to a separate family area which always had sunbeds available and was great for meeting other families with kids. We booked with TUI.

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/06/2018 10:32

Christ you’ve paid thousands of pounds more for a private pool. Go and get the inflatables. Chuck them over the side and the owners out. Complain to management. And while you’re at it, ask for compensation from the hotel.

x2boys · 02/06/2018 10:32

Quite Franny.
