Booked a swim up room, there are four ground floor apartments in a row, all of us have booked swim up rooms and paid a supplement. Upstairs neighbours currently in our pool, shouting down from balcony, throwing inflatables from balcony. They have climbed over the wall at the end of the pool to get in.

What? Why wouldn’t you say something? What would your DH say if she was in your room??? You’ve paid for the pool, tell her to hop it!

Alwayslumpyporridge · 02/06/2018 10:34

Buxbaum I haven’t said anything as DH thinks we shouldn’t but I am going to.

Just explain to her the pool is for your use only, it comes as part of your apartment. If she doesn't leave contact reception.

MoonsAndJunes · 02/06/2018 10:35

Shout 'GO ON GET OUTA HERE!' and SHOOO loudly. Lots of hand gestures too. CF. YANBU.

GuntyMcGee · 02/06/2018 10:36

OP why did you go out and leave them there?!?!

Why didn't you go tell them to get out or phone reception and tell them to make three get out?

I'm not one for confrontation but if I'd paid a premium for a particular special feature and someone else was helping themselves to it, I'd have been out there telling them to jog on, cheeky swines!

Grow a pair and sort it out. It's ruined a day of your holiday because you're rowing about it, when actually all you had to do was phone reception and let them sort it.

NewPapaGuinea · 02/06/2018 10:36

There’s ine thing more annoying than CFs. People who let them get away with it! Get out there and explain the pool is private and to go the main pool. Puncture the inflatable if they give you any gip.

Notevilstepmother · 02/06/2018 10:37

I think we need a diagram Grin

Seriously just ask the receptionist to get it sorted. You paid extra for a peaceful swim up room. Why do people like your DH get themselves so wound up and refuse to take the straightforward option?

MoonsAndJunes · 02/06/2018 10:37

Oops wrong link Grin

Find a pin and burst the inflatables

Branleuse · 02/06/2018 10:38

why on earth haven't you told them it's a private pool?

Zaphodsotherhead · 02/06/2018 10:39

How peaceful can it be to have a lovely pool right outside your door but that's overlooked by the balcony of the upstairs rooms?

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 02/06/2018 10:40

^ this! AngryGrin

LighthouseSouth · 02/06/2018 10:44

I had to look up swim up room
It's a roomwith own pool
Why wouldn't they just call it that?!

metalmum15 · 02/06/2018 10:45

My dh would have been on the phone to reception before I'd even booted my phone up to log onto mumsnet.

metalmum15 · 02/06/2018 10:47

Perhaps offer them the use of your shower when they're done to wash the chlorine off?

Starlight2345 · 02/06/2018 10:49

I never understand threads like these..

Why don't you say " excuse me this is a private pool " ?

I have just got back from holiday. We left our inflatable by pool while we went out came back it was on someone's balcony ..So we simply took it back ( obviously ours due to plaster repair before anyone asks)

I have no idea why you need to spend longer posting a thread than actually simply speaking to people.

Then complain to management if she keeps returning.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 02/06/2018 10:50

Thanks for the explanation of what a 'swim up' pool is, PP. I was imagining some sort of arrangement where you slide out of bed and doggy-paddle out of the doors into your pool... Grin

OP - if you don't sort this now then it's going to be harder when it becomes established and this lady and her child are still in your pool later.

Agree that it doesn't need to be a confrontation, just don't be a doormat.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 02/06/2018 10:50

And the use of your towels, obviously.

PussGirl · 02/06/2018 10:51

Tell them to clear off. I would.

toomanyeastereggsurghh · 02/06/2018 10:51

Why on earth would your DH not want to say anything????!! Would he do anything if they walked into your apartment and started using the loo? I just don’t get this Confused

Chattymummyhere · 02/06/2018 10:52

My mum books swim up apartments. She would go nuts if someone else used her pool. Call reception and make them deal with it or tell them to bugger off.

Motoko · 02/06/2018 10:52

Good god, your husband is such a limp lettuce! And so immature to be sulking.

Can't believe that you went out without telling them to fuck off, despite your husband thinking you should let them carry on. In this sort of situation, you would be quite right to disregard his opinion because he's wrong.

AlbertaSimmons · 02/06/2018 10:52

Why does your DH think you should let it go? Is he like this at hime, does he let strangers drive his car, sit in your garden etc? What's the matter with him? Just tell them to eff off Hmm.

JohnnyKarate · 02/06/2018 10:53

@LighthouseSouth most swim up rooms are attached to a main pool and think that's where the name originally came from. They work better in adult only resorts when attached to the main pool though, I speak from experience waking up with a couple of 6 year olds enjoying milkshakes on my balcony 😂

StableGenius · 02/06/2018 10:55

Good grief, doesn't your DH know that the only thing necessary for the triumph of cheeky fuckers is for reasonable mumsnetters to do nothing?
