Booked a swim up room, there are four ground floor apartments in a row, all of us have booked swim up rooms and paid a supplement. Upstairs neighbours currently in our pool, shouting down from balcony, throwing inflatables from balcony. They have climbed over the wall at the end of the pool to get in.

Just tell her!
If she's not there when you get back she will think it's ok and be there later.

SevenStones · 02/06/2018 12:35

I guess CFs like this bank on the pool renters being as weak-willed as the OP and her DH are, so can use the pool happily without being confronted about it.

I never cease to be astounded that there are people around who would just let others do this and their solution to it being to go out and hope the CFs have gone when they get back! CFs themselves imo!!!

givemesteel · 02/06/2018 12:44

I would be politely saying this is our private pool that comes with our room. If they don't get out or there is a language barrier the contact reception. If they do it again then tell reception you either want them moved or you will move if they give you an upgrade (if there is a better room). Make it clear to reception you're annoyed so they ensure it doesn't happen again.

If your dh is too much of a wuss to deal with it then you'll have to otherwise it will ruin your holiday

extinctspecies · 02/06/2018 12:45

tell your DH to toughen up a bit!

Jenasaurus · 02/06/2018 12:51

I would be tempted to go out and say something like "oh I didn't realise anyone would use this pool, my son vomited, pooed in the pool earlier and we were waiting for it to be cleaned until we used it again" " hope you don't catch the bug" alternatively you can report it to the hotel.

LavenderDoll · 02/06/2018 12:54

You need to report it to reception and tell them to get out.
You are paying extra for the swim up room

ApolloandDaphne · 02/06/2018 12:57

Hells teeth OP. Their arses would have barely been in the water and I would have had them out and back over the wall!

pudcat · 02/06/2018 13:01

Depends where you are as to what the swim up pool means. This was on one hotel site. Swim up rooms are connected to the pools from the balcony. Ground floors are direct , first floors are connected with the steps from the balcony.
So there could be steps you haven't noticed.

bonnyshide · 02/06/2018 13:02

Nope

Tell them to get out your pool OP (it's like coming home and finding the neighbours using your bbq & trampoline in your back garden...would you leave them there and see if they left on their own?)

Noloudnoises · 02/06/2018 13:05

@JohnnyKarate OOOF! Where is that a picture of?

Figmentofimagination · 02/06/2018 13:09

I loved our private pool on our honeymoon 6 years ago in Rhodes.

Just looked up pool hammock. Just a fancy name for a lilo

It’s not quite the same as a lilo. The edges and pillow are inflatable and the centre is just mesh. A lilo is all inflatable.

KirstenRaymonde · 02/06/2018 13:10

@JohnnyKarate where is that picture from, I want to stay there

Figmentofimagination · 02/06/2018 13:10

This was our swim up pool in the Dominican Republic - didn't have to do the 7am sunbed dash, it was amazing!

SkaTastic · 02/06/2018 13:14

Go get her inflatable and beat her around the head with it while shouting "GET OUT OF OUR POOL YOU CHEEKY FUCKER".

LashingsOfHamAndGingerBeer · 02/06/2018 13:18

Seriously can't believe you didn't tell them before you left for brunch?! As it is, they've had several hours in your pool, paid for by you. Tell them OP!

OhDearMavis · 02/06/2018 13:18

Oh my.
Why why why didn't you challenge them?
Honestly, some people are so wet

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/06/2018 13:18

Soup
Ah it’s mesh. Wasn’t clear from the picture. But still similar to a lilo.

MiddleClassProblem · 02/06/2018 13:19

I have holiday envy

StopPOP · 02/06/2018 13:20

I'd love a private swim pool

maxthemartian · 02/06/2018 13:25

Me too Stop but not one that comes with a free cheeky fucker.

DarlingNikita · 02/06/2018 13:28

Your DH needs kicking into touch for starters.

But anyway, tell her politely 'This is our private pool'. If she kicks off, tell management.

StopPOP · 02/06/2018 13:33

@maxthemartian Ye Gads no. I'd be telling them in no uncertain terms to bugger off
