In that the press were not allowed to report on the original grooming trial and the secondary trial of his for contempt of court.

Surely these press bans should only be used for issues of national security like terrorism.

@Iwouldwalk I agree with you, except for the last part, 'what terrifies me is the lack of understanding are able to sit on juries', wind ya neck in, for all you know a law of intelligence could pass and you wouldn't quite make the grade, your voice and thoughts would be irrelevant? (couldn't happen to you though right? you are too clever haha). Every human has a voice, every voice should be heard, even if you cant quite grasp why they think like they do!

UpstartCrow · 01/06/2018 21:52

Dont make the mistake of confusing learning with intelligence. I'd prefer juries to be well informed, not just have strong opinions.

AndIWouldWalk500Yards · 01/06/2018 21:54

He's a criminal with a string of convictions. Violence and fraud. Don't remember him protesting outside the trial of Barry Bennell or any other white paedophile who groomed children for years. Funny that...

SilverHairedCat · 01/06/2018 21:57

FFS, does no-one who witters about this understand that the non reporting order of the grooming trial was to protect the victims as well as the alleged offenders?????

Raven88 · 01/06/2018 21:57

Media blackouts are to aid a fair trial. TR has no respect for the law and I think he is just a thug. I was happy to see him and arrested. This is his record.

To think what happened to Tommy Robinson was wrong
tryharderrepeat · 01/06/2018 22:09

TR pleaded guilty ffs. TR knew he was in the wrong - why can't his merry army of halfwits think for themselves for a moment?!

Oh wait - they can't because he's a cult leader who can do no wrong even when HE FUCKING SAYS SO HIMSELF

SparklyUnicornPoo · 01/06/2018 22:09

Because of an idiot journalist the bastard who groomed and raped me was able to drag the hearing out for an extra 3 days. That is only 3 days to most people but when you are scared and waiting around the court to be called up it might as well be 3 years. Going to court and reliving that kind of abuse is a horrible experience. Mine was a local journalist and a badly thought out article, change of jury fixed it, national attention like this could be so much worse. Tommy Robinson achieved nothing standing outside that court room, what he did was jeopardise a number of cases and risk dragging the victims through all of that again, for what? a badly thought out and inaccurate rant and a bit of attention?

DioneTheDiabolist · 01/06/2018 22:10

Yep, YABU OP. For all the reasons given on this thread. He broke the law, he's in the pokey. Thems the laws.

daddypigsnoexpert · 01/06/2018 22:11

I like how juries are randomly picked. Juries that represent a notion of 'intelligence' would not represent the nation. We are not equal, although we all deserve human rights. Apart from the catholic church, (people with power) name any 'type of people' that have targeted young white/black/ non muslim/mixed race girls...working class girls, and trafficked them up and down the country for at least 30 years? A FUCKING HIGHLY ORGANISED NETWORK. From taxi drivers, to chicken shop owners, to off licences....do the middle class own these establishments? obviously not. Keep pretending this is about race. Its not. What this is about is throwing a load of poor people with different cultures together because it benefits the capitalist economy, and ignoring that |slam and British culture do not mix! fucks sake, keep observing shit from afar and having a judgemental opinion. I'm alright jack. Meanwhile in working class towns....this shit is still happening

kalapattar · 01/06/2018 22:13

I'm wondering if this is a first post or a name change?

There were quite few new posters on the last TR thread.

AndIWouldWalk500Yards · 01/06/2018 22:14

daddy I said the hard of understaning, which equates to people who state that TR was treated unfairly and are provided with very detailed responses as to how he was potentially giving the grooming gang a get out of jail free card and utterly disregarding the victims who respond with it being a cover up and how TR was right to do what he did.

And yes, every voice should be heard but if they are talking utter bollocks and propagating incorrect information they should be called out on it. Social media is great but if you talk bollocks and spread untruths be prepared for someone who knows better to correct you.

Doesn't the utter lack of education and comprehension demonstrated by the TR supporters worry you at all?

daddypigsnoexpert · 01/06/2018 22:23

who decides who is right or wrong? like I said Tommy Robinson deserved to be arrested and go to jail. I believe he has done it for effect. I do believe there are people pulling his strings. I don't think he's a bad person though, or far right. He just seen around him what was happening, thought it was wrong and took a stand, made a bad choice

AndIWouldWalk500Yards · 01/06/2018 22:27

daddy your last post changes nothing. TR is jeopardising criminal trials of grooming gangs where they might go free because of his actions. They are on trial because they have been arrested. The police have not ignored it.

And read the post by Sparkly above. That's what TR risked for every victim in the Leeds trials he tried to derail. I'll let you explain why that is a good thing.

corythatwas · 01/06/2018 22:29

"He just seen around him what was happening, thought it was wrong and took a stand, made a bad choice"

so his string of criminal convictions are a case of taking a stand because he sees something is wrong?

football hooliganism, common assault, mortgage fraud- all part of his principled stand?

AndIWouldWalk500Yards · 01/06/2018 22:32

The law decides who is right or wrong. It is clear. Black and white. There are no grey areas. And yes, he might well have been badly advised but he was risking the victims getting justice more than he was punishing the accused.

ilovesooty · 01/06/2018 22:32

Anyone who can read that string of convictions and still feels able to defend him really doesn't seem capable of informed reasoning.

daddypigsnoexpert · 01/06/2018 22:35

I said he was wrong for being there, he deserved to go to jail. He knew. Otherwise, I agree with what he stands for.

daddypigsnoexpert · 01/06/2018 22:37

@ilovesooty mind your halo doesn't choke you. Must be lovely being perfect

AndIWouldWalk500Yards · 01/06/2018 22:38

Agree ilovesooty Sadly we had a small congregation of TR fans protesting in Leeds today. We just ignored them and carried on.

kalapattar · 01/06/2018 22:44

Otherwise, I agree with what he stands for

Which is?

ilovesooty · 01/06/2018 22:46

I agree with what he stands for
I think that bears out what I said.

Justanotherlurker · 01/06/2018 22:47

He was wrong for being there, he admitted it himself.

I think it's been jumped on because generally within europe and elsewhere we are becoming a bit of a laughing stock and it's not just because of brexit. So soon after the Nazi pug guy getting dragged through the courts (who is now apparently alt-right), the only alt-right person with a hammer and sickle tattoo and a documented left wing protesting background that is.

I do not like TR, he deserved to be sent down, but I think some on here do need to see his speech at the oxford uni as there is a lot of misinformed crap as usual in these types of threads with regards to his background and why the edl was born

birdsdestiny · 01/06/2018 22:48

I presume that I love sooty doesn't have a string of convictions for assault and fraud, if that is what is required for a halo then I claim mine too. Ilovesooty, sorry for making assumptions, if you do have an array of convictions I do apologise.

ilovesooty · 01/06/2018 22:49

daddypigsnoexpert · 01/06/2018 22:52

@Andiwould yeah keep ignoring the working class, take their votes, they are clearly uninformed, and not as intelligent and civilised as you, keep them away from you, muslims are the same as us, those slags from the working class should know better. Marx and Engles predicted a proletariat revolution. Except there are not two classes, there are three, and there's more on the lower level, bit like a pyramid. Goodnight all. If there will ever be a revolution in the UK it wont be from the left
