In that the press were not allowed to report on the original grooming trial and the secondary trial of his for contempt of court.

Surely these press bans should only be used for issues of national security like terrorism.

Thanks for sharing Medusa. Powerful stuff. I hope you continue to move forward in a positive way. Yes indeed, there are cultural problems that need to be confronted.

grimereaper · 02/06/2018 18:57

I haven't watched it all. I wasn't groomed but knew lots who were. I did have the particular group of older male friends who asked me out and showed interest and offered me what seemed lovely at the time. I introduced them to my friends instead of me... some of those men are now in jail.

I was also taken to the guest house mentioned by my social worker. As were other girls.

I was allowed to be collected from SS offices by older men, no questions.

I was allowed to sign older men in to my children's home and staff hung around for friendly chats.

I was so incredibly lucky but others were obviously not.

I'm wondering if this guy has a point. I haven't watched it all, it's fairly long but he has made me think

mustbemad17 · 02/06/2018 19:19

If we all chip in for the plane tickets can we send TR over to the liberal haven that apparently is the US? Whilst we're at it, take Katie Hopkins too...apparently she'll fit right in too

bastardkitty · 02/06/2018 19:23

@DaphneFanshaw - yes - it's gone completely down the toilet!

NotACleverName · 02/06/2018 19:56

It was men with the same patriotic spirit as Tommy who fought in the wars to keep you safe.

Oh, fuck off. They fought to protect us from people like Yaxley-Lennon.

Tommy is sound I've met him a couple of times

itchyknees · 03/06/2018 23:35

Thankyou for that insightful précis, Daddypig. Clearly well informed and balanced, and based on experience and education, obviously.Hmm

Gilead · 04/06/2018 00:16

Loopy was that at a Buckingham Palace Garden Party? He's a racist, a football hooligan and he beats up women. Which bit of that is sound.

Daddypig School is back tomorrow. Do try harder dear, your English Teacher needs to sort out further homework. Hmm

qwertyflirty · 04/06/2018 00:21

Why are people defending a neo-Nazi?

Can't face RTT.

ilovesooty · 04/06/2018 00:46

Well sound is certainly an interesting description...

AlisonCHaynes · 04/06/2018 01:52

I thought there was some confusion about his real name? When his was convicted for passport fraud one of passports he held was under the name of Paul Harris, and the judge said 'I am going to sentence you under the name of Stephen Lennon, although I suspect this is not your true name'.

ReginaBlitzkreig · 04/06/2018 06:35

TR's politics are not the reason he is currently in prison. His actions are. He accosted defendants going into court with questions about charges that had been discontinued ( and which, therefore, the jury would not have known about). He livestreamed all this, catching jurors in the footage. He knows the law on this, thanks to his earlier conviction. He had a summary trial for contempt at which an experienced barrister represented him. No injustice, and no surprise. So, why did he do it? Interested to know what posters, especially the newer ones, will come up with here.
And no, I don't believe it was to draw our attention to a 'secret' trial. The reporting restriction was temporary, the trial was still in public and the local newspaper was all over it with a reporter in court throughout (as was the BBC before the RRO was imposed).
Any US oysters can forebear to lecture me about their First Amendment as it is irrelevant and I don't give a monkey's toss about it anyway.

ReginaBlitzkreig · 04/06/2018 06:35

Oysters? Posters, that should say!

ScrubTheDecks · 04/06/2018 08:17

Exactly, ReginaBlitzkrieg.

TR is not in prison for championing free speech to expose grooming gangs.

He is in prison because his actions could have jeopardised the trial of grooming gangs and enabled them to get off free.

This is not a free speech issue. It is an issue of respecting the justice system in this country, which depends on everyone getting a full and fair hearing.

To champion him on spurious free speech terms is to drink the Kool Aid.

sashh · 04/06/2018 08:26

Surely these press bans should only be used for issues of national security like terrorism.

If your child was gang raped would you want their name and details of the rape in the papers? Yes rape victims are given life long anonymity but sometimes identifying the perpetrators also identifies the child.

Tommy Robinson broke the law, pleaded guilty and was sent to prison.

Newspapers/TV were not allowed to report it at the time but have done since.

Bibesia · 04/06/2018 08:32

It was men with the same patriotic spirit as Tommy who fought in the wars to keep you safe.

TR has no patriotic spirit. He has no pride in the reality of the country he purports to support.

And how dare you claim that people like my father who fought in WW2 has the same "patriotic spirit" as TR? My father took people as they came, and did not have a racist bone in his body. He fought for tolerance and was utterly appalled at Nazism and everything it represented. TR, by contrast, would have felt very much at home in Germany in the 1930s.

mostdays · 04/06/2018 17:22

It was men with the same patriotic spirit as Tommy who fought in the wars to keep you safe.

My grampa wouldn't have wasted spit on scum like Tommy Robinson. He fought in WW2, was at the liberation of Belsen and saw with his own eyes what hatred on the base of race and religion lead to.

sashh · 04/06/2018 17:29

It was men with the same patriotic spirit as Tommy who fought in the wars to keep you safe.

I think you need to look at the number of soldiers from India, Pakistan, Jamaica and many many other countries who put on British forces uniforms.

Wearelocal · 04/06/2018 17:40

Daphnefanshaw. I think this is sock puppeting. The other thread about this slayed the OP.

AndIWouldWalk500Yards · 04/06/2018 22:57

It was men with the same patriotic spirit as Tommy who fought in the wars to keep you safe.

Are you fucking serious?? Do you seriously believe this shit?

None of my relatives - Great-Grand Fathers, Great Uncles, Second Cousins, Grand Fathers, Uncles etc who fought in both wars would have anything to do with the scumbag 'Tommy Robinson'.

They were better men and more honourable men. Yaxley-Lennon is anything but honourable. He would let the paedophiles go free for publicity without a minutes care for the victims. He should rot in jail for that.

And maybe educate yourself about contempt of court before you reply. It might save you and me some time. It gets really boring repeating the law over and over again just because the hard of understanding just don't get it.

And jut because you don't get it or don't like it doesn't change the law.

Whattheactualfuckmate · 06/06/2018 10:12

I’ve just watched a march on line staged in Manchester in support of TR. it worries me. I live in Manchester.

I do think some of you live in a bubble. The way the government has handled the Pakistani grooming gangs was/is dreadful. Normal every day people feel disgusted/scared and unheard and are leaning towards men like TR.

Your a fool if you think only a minority feel like this. Look at what happened at brexit. All the titters, snidy remarks accusations of bigotry/racism/dumb/thick only proved to have an inverted effect. And the majority won. Fuck me NF was spear heading it! And they still won!

I don’t want to live in a country where my neighbours are spat at for not being white but the way a large portion of society have their fingers stuck in their ears singing la la songs is causing that.

It’s not racism to acknowledge a portion of Pakistani men targeted and rapes young vulnerable white girls. Do gooders refusing to accept this and have a sensible discussion on it is causing the biggest problem.

this actually couldn’t have worked out better for TR

user1457017537 · 06/06/2018 10:19

ordinary people are powerless and not valued by the great and the good. Their concerns are dismissed and trivialised by the politically correct and accused of being racist if they dare to speak out.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 06/06/2018 10:20

It may be true that the government has mishandled the issue of Pakistani grooming gangs - but 'tackling' this by breaking the law in a way that could mean that a trial against such men actually collapses, benefits no-one and does nothing to improve the government's actions.

All it does is harm the victims and the cause of justice. I do not see how anyone can justify this or approve of it.

AlisonCHaynes · 06/06/2018 10:38

You really don't think it is people who already hate/fear 'foreigners ' who are using this as an excuse for justified outrage, along with advance for about community singing/chanting/fighting.I

And there will be people there who feel ignored and social excluded, but the majority are just nasty cunts.
