Parking one - a CF in BOTH our spaces

So we have two allocated parking spaces, we pay a premium for them. Someone has parked over both spaces, literally in the middle. I've blocked them in Grin

Waiting for the doorbell to ring. I might go out.

i have been dying for someone to park on my drive, we have a weird set up, a walled area, 5 houses, plus a new one, and insufficient parking at the back on the communal drive, so we made another personal use only on a corner of our lawn, gardens have allocated space, with access only

and only twice in all that time (20 years almost) have I ever had anyone park On MY Drive....once was a carpet guy who had just parked to ask a neighbour where he could park and he apologised profusely as I pulled up behind him, and a delivery guy with a parcel for me.

It would make my year to be able to block someone in. :o

Myotherusernameisbest · 30/05/2018 11:55

You say 'oh yes thats my car blocking you in as you needed to park but hubby has gone out with the keys accidently. He'll be back from dubai next weekend. Leave your number, I'll call you when I can move my car. And shut door.

ChuckyMonkey · 30/05/2018 11:55

Oooh hope it is an extremely busy Estate Agent with lots of places he needs to be!

MrTumblesSpottyHag · 30/05/2018 11:55

This thread is my new happy place 😊
Tell them it's not your car.

Jaxhog · 30/05/2018 11:56

Pass the popcorn!

Clubcuts · 30/05/2018 11:56

🍿

MsHomeSlice · 30/05/2018 11:56

what do you say??

you say, in your best Hyacinth Bouquet tones "I'm sorry, I don't speak English" and shut the door.

that's my plan for sure!!

drearydeardre · 30/05/2018 11:57

so an EA drives a KA and he can't park it in one space Shock - a KA is miniscule. Sorry that is not really the point of the cheekiness.

Babynut1 · 30/05/2018 11:57

When they knock on your door and ask you to move, tell them “oh I’m sorry, I don’t know who’s car that is” and shut your door haha!!

Tuckingfypo · 30/05/2018 11:57

Just marking my place to find out what happens with the CF Grin

Rocinante1 · 30/05/2018 11:57

So glad you parked them in! So many of these threads end with the OP not doing any proactive! Well done!

noctu · 30/05/2018 11:57

Aww yeah! Definitely agree with the 'husband taken the car keys' comment! settles in

Glumglowworm · 30/05/2018 11:58

How unfortunately that not only has some cheeky bugger parked in both your spaces at once but a completely different and definitely not you cheeky bugger has blocked them in. Wonder loudly about karma and whether two wrongs make a right and say you hope the second cheeky bugger gets back soon but you thought you heard them taking about going to the airport in a taxi for a nice month in the sun.

DailyMailClickbait · 30/05/2018 12:00

Is that a parking thread klaxon I heard?!

If they come outside and it is an EA then act very nonchalant and tell them that they must surely appreciate how important it is to know that parking is all sorted when you view a property that has allocated spaces. That it must be very off-putting to view somewhere and spot that there are people constantly blocking the property's drive or space...

Felyne · 30/05/2018 12:01

Pointedly ask how they knew to knock on your door about moving the car. "Oh because it clearly says the house number the space belongs to? Why ever did you park there in the first place?"

LartenCrepsley · 30/05/2018 12:01

Any of the suggested responses would be great, OP, but don’t forget the all important Tinkly Little Laugh.

HighwayDragon1 · 30/05/2018 12:02

I'm MAD AF.

My EA just rang me (he's V reasonable) apparently the ea looking after nd called my EA Angry

I've been told me not to go anywhere Grin until the woman comes and asks me directly. Our EA is so lovely, his dad owns the house and he always sends DD a fiver on her birthday. He's totally with me.

She's Bangor around next door.

Photograph your car (and theirs,) OP, in case they try the bazillion point turn and damage it.

viques · 30/05/2018 12:04

OP, can you snuggle up a bit closer? I used to have a KA and they are very good at turning in confined spaces.

In the meantime if anyone fancies a bowl I have a pot of homemade carrot and coriander soup on the go, and half a garlic baguette -but on second thoughts I'm not sharing the baguette.

ilikefastcars · 30/05/2018 12:04

Don't answer the door! Settle down to watch the fun from an upstairs window! Brilliant!

o0o0 · 30/05/2018 12:04

100% pretend you're not in, for HOURS. Let them have to explain to their boss why they can't get back to the office

Myotherusernameisbest · 30/05/2018 12:04

OMG, so they didnt even knock on your door! They rang your estate agent! Bloody hell.

Don't move it! Inconvenience the hell out of them, that really takes the piss even for an estate agent.

jayho · 30/05/2018 12:04

the typos are adding to the total quality of this thread Grin

PuppetOnAString · 30/05/2018 12:05

I’d just sat down with a cuppa as well, excellent timing!

picklemepopcorn · 30/05/2018 12:05

When she knocks, stand very still, look her right in the eye, pause and state 'you don't want to do that again, in case I mislay my keys.'
