To wonder why nobody seems to hang pants on the washing line

I seem to be the only one who does...
Not being a creeper, just something I've noticed in the last few weeks while hanging the washing out that genuinely baffles me (shared garden, can see numerous other gardens from it.)
There's nothing better than a fresh pair of line dried pants.
I'd understand not hanging out a really scabby old pair...
Do people want to give the impression they don't wear any?

I do, but I put them in the middle of the rotary line, even though our garden isn't overlooked.

I don't even own a washing line anymore.

Used to have a rotary line but decided it spoilt the look of the garden, once we had it landscaped, so got rid of it.

Everything goes in the tumble dryer or if they can't, because of fabric, I just use a small airier.

Mine go out as does DPS. NDN put theirs out too. I do hang mine by the crotch though, not sure why.

Mine are blowing like bunting on the line right now!

I don't because tiny things dry in a very short time indoors so it's not worth hanging it up and then taking it down . I have an indoor drying rack by a sunny spot indoors for socks, bras and pants. Everything else goes outside .

I don't hang mine out, they're pretty ugly looking! I hang DS's out though, on a octopus thing!

Rotary drier, pants etc in middle and other stuff surrounding. Secret smalls drying. Unless someone is peering out of a top floor window of course!

PollyCotton- I do but I use a rotary dryer & always hang pants in the middle so they're hidden by all the other clothes.

A good blow in the wind and sun does make bedding especially feel so fresh.Very strong South Westerly winds have seen our washing blown into a neighbour's rosebush...got stronger pegs now!

All ours go out. I don’t care who sees them we all wear underwear.

Hate the winter when I can’t dry my clothes in the garden. All goes out there, catch alls, thongs, every colour you can imagine. Much prefer the smell of garden dried washing to fabric conditioner. That is unless the NDNs start charring flesh in their fire pit.

I never hang underwear or socks on the line. Nothing to do with not wanting the neighbours to see them - our garden is not overlooked. I’m just lazy and can’t be arsed standing there for ages pegging out small items, I use the drier all year round. I do hang out clothes and bedding if suitable drying weather but not towels....they go like cardboard!

I hang pants out. Even my extra giant “these house several maternity pads and most of my belly” pants.

I agree- there is nothing better than a pair of line dried, fresh, soft pants. Your neighbours are weird

This reminds me of a story my friend told me recently of her mum massively bollocking her when she was a teenager for absent- mindedly pegging out unwashed washing, including several pairs of very skiddy pants.

I have a rotart dryer i just hang pants on the inside nobody sees them.

Actually this has given me an idea. My lingerie sets are the most beautiful, and expensive part of my attire. The rest of me is always second hand. I love a bargain. I'm from Yorkshire, tha knows.

I usually pop my smalls over the clothes horse in the house. However, I do feel that it's a shame that nobody gets to see my lovely matching sets. So, next wash and ..... out on the line they'll go

I don't hang any of our underwear outside 😄, I know it's daft though.

Dd 1 used to hang her underwear over her radiator she wouldn't let me hang them out
