There is a strange car parked in front of my house

Literally facing into my lounge, my private parking area not on street. I’ve no idea who it belongs too, must’ve arrived whilst I was putting the baby to bed so in the last 15 minutes. Doesn’t belong to any of my neighbours that I’m aware of (been here a long time, know most of them well). I think it’s cheeky to leave your car on a random parking spot or Aibu?

criminal damage could get you in trouble, but if you wedge a nail, sharp side up behind a tyre, when they reverse out, it will go right in.

I did this once Blush. Where I used to work shared a car park with an upholstery factory, there were always tacks left on the ground and a lot of our staff kept picking up punctures. You would know it had happened, as you'd drive out then hear the formidable clicking sound of a tack stuck in your tyre. Complaints went nowhere, and we came to the conclusion that until it happened to our big boss person, and he went round and spoke to them, it wouldn't change. So I made sure big boss person got a puncture and put a tack behind his tyre. Still can't believe I did it, but it worked, after that, the factory regularly swept the outside area to clear up the tacks.

RestingBitchFaced · 27/05/2018 10:41

Did you leave a note OP?

Greenkit · 27/05/2018 10:50

I like the idea of broken glass all behind his back tyres.

if he drives over it HE has damaged his own tyres.

CF as you had already said don't park there

SandAndSea · 27/05/2018 11:06

Invite the neighbours round for a 'stop the CF parking here bar-b' in the drive?

Ownerofalittlechimp · 27/05/2018 12:18

I did leave a note but he’d gone by the time we got back & left it crumpled on the drive. Going to buy planters later when dh home.

This man isn't just a CF - he's bullying. He's been asked not to do it but has come back and done it again. He's on a power trip I expect.

Supermagicsmile · 27/05/2018 13:35

What a CF he is!

BipolarSunset · 27/05/2018 14:03

Wow so rude!

Yamayo · 27/05/2018 14:15

Can you and your husband park your car at an angle so that he can't use the space if he tries again?
Leaving the note crumpled in the drive would have been the last straw for me... Angry

KeepServingTheDrinks · 27/05/2018 14:22

That is UNBELIEVABLY cheeky. Twice in one day!

You HAVE to be prepared for a third time, OP.

InspMorse · 27/05/2018 23:00

Are you planning any home improvemts OP?
It would be unfortunate if you were to drop a big box of nails on the ground...

ToPlanZ · 27/05/2018 23:26

Arghhh that is SO aggravating! You leave a polite note and he screws it up. This used to happen to me all the time. I got so sick of finding my polite post it notes on the floor that I invested in some high tack impossible to peel off stickers that just say 'no parking' on them. I like to stick a number of them to the windscreen to reflect my stress level that day, quite chilled out gets two or three stickers, up to my eyeballs in work tends to get more. My DH has the same issue with his private car park at work and prefers an A4 sized paper sticker right across the drivers side of the windscreen. Also non peelable. Checked with the local police, they said stickering is fine. On one occasion a car was left an hour past locking up time so DH rang the police for advice, they said go home and lock the car park up as normal, you're not committing an offence, so I don't think blocking in is a massive problem.

safariboot · 28/05/2018 00:15

Wow, what a cunt.

Unfortunately the law is on the cunts side now. He's trespassing but that's not a crime. If you clamp or tamper with the vehicle, or block it and refuse to let the driver drive it away, then you're the one breaking the law.

You could get it towed but that's risky - you'd be liable for any damage, and if someone's enough of a cunt to park on your driveway they're probably enough of a cunt to make up lies about damage. It would certainly send the cunt a strong message though.

GlitterRollerSkate · 30/05/2018 16:59

Drop a box of nails on the hardcore.

Has he been back yet? Cheeky fucker!

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 30/05/2018 17:18

I can imagine him arriving home and saying to his missus “Daves wife at number 24, OPs Street has gone a bit weird about me parking on his drive. So I just ignored her and carried on parking there while visiting Clive down the road”

“But Dave lives at number 26?!?” says the missus.

Greenkit · 03/06/2018 07:09

Did he leave, did he come back??

Ninabean17 · 03/06/2018 07:32

Cf! Did they ever come back? Did you put some heavy planters there?

StealthPolarBear · 03/06/2018 07:42

Surely he wouldn't come back a third time
