There is a strange car parked in front of my house

Literally facing into my lounge, my private parking area not on street. I’ve no idea who it belongs too, must’ve arrived whilst I was putting the baby to bed so in the last 15 minutes. Doesn’t belong to any of my neighbours that I’m aware of (been here a long time, know most of them well). I think it’s cheeky to leave your car on a random parking spot or Aibu?

Needmore, yes they will have needed to mount the kerb to get in to it. It was originally landscaped but the previous owner took all the lovely plants leaving basically scrub land (thanks Mum). We had it dug out & will be covered in Yellowstone soon to be used as extra parking (very common around here) & also easy to maintain, looks tidy when not used as parking. Eventually we hope to have a fence along the top so only access would be via dropped kerb.

Funnily enough it’s not ‘illegal’ as in a police matter and if you block it in you are in the wrong because you are obstructing their right to use the highway. Under no circumstance break into their car as it is criminal damage.

Unfortunately sticking a parking ticket on it isn’t enforceable as you need to be licensed.

I’d just put a polite notice informing them they are trespassing on private property and if it happens again get the dreaded parking penguins

I really should not say this... but put vaseline on the car's door handles. It is a real deterrent .

Still no idea whose it it, we’re not really close to anything major, no airports or train stations. Outlying village of small town with not much going on. A pub 2 villages over is having a festival weekend which I can hear but it’s about a hour to walk to down country lanes. Plenty of on street parking too so not sure why they’d even need to park there.
