To wear underwear to bed?

This is so Random but I really want to know! Do you wear underwear to bed?
As a kid I was told by my stepmom to let it all breath, and be free from underwear.
By my mum I was told to wear underwear.. her view was simply if something happens in the night, you’re wearing underwear.(fire)
I seem to wash and put on clean underwear (briefs) nothing uncomfortable. Is it unhygienic to wear underwear to bed? I have on occasions not wore any but it’s such a habit now. I don’t wear my bra to bed. My mate thinks I’m bonkers wearing underwear to bed. Is it important to let our lady bits breath?

I come from a long line of "no pants under PJs" females, Mum and Gran both being strongly of that persuasion, and when I stopped wearing PJs around age 10, the pants stayed off too!

Only time I wear underwear to bed is if it's my time of the month. Other than that I just wear pjs with nothing underneath

I wear knickers to bed and also clean pyjamas every night. Which I will stop doing now as reading this has made me realise that you can get more than one nights wear out of pj bottoms . Always have to wear knickers though, too uncomfortable without. Agree with pp about the seams on the pj bottoms.

Women have natural discharge, I think it is grotty, disgusting and unhygienic to not wear undies to bed, tbh.

I have always worn undies to bed with no issues. Otherwise I would have to wash my pj's every day if my bum was slithering around in them during the night. This way I'm only washing 5 sets of PJ's a fortnight rather than 14. I don't buy expensive undies for the purpose, just bulk pack cheapo cottons.
