This is so Random but I really want to know! Do you wear underwear to bed?
As a kid I was told by my stepmom to let it all breath, and be free from underwear.
By my mum I was told to wear underwear.. her view was simply if something happens in the night, you’re wearing underwear.(fire)
I seem to wash and put on clean underwear (briefs) nothing uncomfortable. Is it unhygienic to wear underwear to bed? I have on occasions not wore any but it’s such a habit now. I don’t wear my bra to bed. My mate thinks I’m bonkers wearing underwear to bed. Is it important to let our lady bits breath?

My (now) DH still laughs remembering our first night together. I had insisted we were sharing a bed because it was the only one available, not because we were going to dtd. I was however, concerned that I couldn’t keep my pants on because it was unhealthy to sleep in them, not because I was ‘up for sex’ Blush
He now knows me well enough to know it was what I believed, but at the time he was a bit Confused

And another a couple of weeks ago...

JustDanceAddict · 26/05/2018 18:20

I only wear knickers! Too hot for anything else. In the depths of winter I’ll wear a t shirt.

ilovepixie · 26/05/2018 18:22

I sleep naked but don't why would people wear knickers and pyjamas???

didsomeonesaybunny · 26/05/2018 18:24

I don’t like to wear anything in bed but I believe wearing underwear in bed can increase your risk of thrush.

Glumglowworm · 26/05/2018 18:24

As a child I wore pants to bed when I wore a nightie and not for pjs, which is still what I do now although I only wear a nightie once in a blue moon. I wear pants with a sanitary towel under my pjs when I have my period.

But as long as you’re comfortable it doesn’t really matter what anyone else does! If you were getting lots of thrush then trying the no pants thing at night might be a good idea, but otherwise it’s down to personal preference

GlassSuppers · 26/05/2018 18:29

I wear nothing to bed. At all.

I do keep clothes by my bed though in case I need to put some on quickly!

Mummyoflittledragon · 26/05/2018 18:38

I was forbidden from wearing knickers to bed as a child. I wanted to. As a result I find it uncomfortable as an adult. I wear cheap maxi dresses as nightwear. Can’t stand pj trousers either.

Undercoverbanana · 26/05/2018 18:38

I wear a pair if men’s boxers and a vest top.

I wear that most of the time round the house (now, in fact).

I am a bit of a comfort queen.

SexyManatee · 26/05/2018 18:42

DH and I sleep naked, so no.

LoniceraJaponica · 26/05/2018 18:52

"There's not much air circulating under your pyjamas"

Not everyone wears pyjamas Hmm

RavenLG · 26/05/2018 18:53

Of course you can use a tampon overnight
I think it's discouraged due to TSS. Longer time period increases the rick of contracting I believe (mooncup user so not really clued up on tampons anymore!)

I wear underwear, just because I don't like the feel of not wearing them. I always feel a bit exposed as well, I usually spread eagle (tmi) and I'm overweight too and hate the feel of my legs touching so underwear makes it feel less awkward. Or shorts (but no underwear) or trousers (with underwear as it feels weird, not sure why it doesn't with shorts. I'm weird).

MoodyTwo · 26/05/2018 19:00

I never wore anything until one night my smoke alarm went off I ran out of my house as fast as I could in November in only my dressing gown... luckily the poor firemen's me sit in the truck with there jackets till they put out the fire ... now I sleep in underwear and PJs lol

Lethaldrizzle · 26/05/2018 19:06

Women with heavy periods have to use tampons overnight

bsbabas · 26/05/2018 19:11

My fat bits rub so I do

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 26/05/2018 19:13

I have very heavy periods. I've never used a tampon.

pinkhorse · 26/05/2018 19:23

I wear knickers and a vest. Your bits can't air under a duvet anyway!

Angie169 · 26/05/2018 19:28

The only thing I wear I bed is my wedding ring !

If it's that time of the month and I am on heavy I my wear knickers for a few nights but I feel uncomfortable

LoniceraJaponica · 26/05/2018 19:29

"My fat bits rub so I do"

I don't understand how wearing a pair of knickers would make any difference.

Hoopaloop · 26/05/2018 19:32

Course I do, otherwise I'd get shitty fingernails from scratching my arse in my sleep (got a 3d arsehole cos of historic piles)

Ohyesiam · 26/05/2018 19:36

I think it’s a bit manky to wear pants to bed. Give it all a bit of air. It doesn’t need to be fresh air, as there isn’t much under the bedclothes, just all needs to be uncovered a bit.

Nothisispatrick · 26/05/2018 19:38

I do as I find it more comfortable, can't see what it's got to do with thrush Confused

Am I the only person who doesn't breathe through my vagina and butthole? I breathe through my nose and sometimes mouth.

EnglishRose13 · 26/05/2018 19:41

I do. If I don't, my husband thinks he's going to get some.

WinkysTeatowel · 26/05/2018 19:47

My pants are cotton, ergo breathable. Would feel odd not wearing them plus surely then you need to change PJs all the time.

I wear a soft bra (crop too) too otherwise am really uncomfortable.

RadioDorothy · 26/05/2018 19:48

I never did in my teens and twenties, but as I got older I've found I prefer to have something protecting my vulnerable parts. I've only had thrush from the erroneous wearing of a non-cotton gusset.

Anyway, I hesitate to be the first to mention it as no one else has, but...what about secretions? Especially those of us with mild nocturnal bladder leakage. Nothing worse than sloshing around in moisture all night.

If this is a troll thread, hope I haven't put you off your vinegar stroke.
