To ask why all the 'you may also be interested in' photos I see are of very light skinned humans (except Milton Keynes)?

It just felt very weird. Is there a reason or is it just me being oversensitive?

KindergartenKop · 25/05/2018 21:42

You're oversensitive.
Not sure what about though...

Sparklingbrook · 25/05/2018 21:42

Erm...

Moonkissedlegs · 25/05/2018 21:42

Wha?

CandleWithHair · 25/05/2018 21:44

Milton Keynes.....is this a person? Or the city?

Either way, YABU!

RunMummyRun68 · 25/05/2018 21:45

is this going to be a racist post?

KindergartenKop · 25/05/2018 21:46

Is it something to do with Facebook?

Catabogus · 25/05/2018 21:47

I agree with you. I noticed the same thing.

monkeysox · 25/05/2018 21:47

Just because UK is only approx 10% non white.
Many adverts depict white people.

checkingforballoons · 25/05/2018 21:49

I’m really confused by this thread title. Gin may have been stronger than I thought.

DextroDependant · 25/05/2018 21:49

I never scroll that far, took me a minute to find what you were talking about.

RunMummyRun68 · 25/05/2018 21:52

no 2 is slightly yellow.....

Ethylred · 25/05/2018 21:52

Hold on everyone, this might turn into a classic.

KindergartenKop · 25/05/2018 21:54

Haha, yes the jaundiced baby is slightly yellow.
I lack interest in Milton Keynes.
Scroll down everyone.

Gazelda · 25/05/2018 22:00

I don't see anything Confused

coffeebreak38572 · 25/05/2018 22:04

Am I missing something what is everyone seeing?

RunMummyRun68 · 25/05/2018 22:09

I've got sony expedia and danish hygee now

PearlyG8 · 28/05/2018 06:05

Thanks for replying, I'm sorry if I was being cryptic. At the bottom of my screen is 'This may also interest you' with 6 sections. I don't know how many potential different pictures might come up there but the ones I have are not at all diverse.

When you say 10 % non white monkeysox does that include everyone who is mixed race? I'm sure I should know this. Do you happen to remember the origin of your statistic? I'd be interested to look it up.

It probably is BU but I am more aware of being in a mixed race family these days and finding it a little scary.

Perhaps some huge us the best remedy Wink

Buggered · 28/05/2018 06:12

Valid points OP.

Buggered · 28/05/2018 06:15

I'm tee total and this tgread makes me feel like I've had 10 gins. what?!

There is a section on your screen titled THIS MAY ALSO INTEREST YOU. On my iPad it’s on the right. None of the photos have pictures of non white people.

drearydeardre · 28/05/2018 06:21

The 2011 Census found that, in England and Wales:

the total population was 56.1 million
of the 5 broad categories, White is the largest, with 48.2 million people (86%)
Asian/Asian British is the second largest group, at 4.2 million (7.5%), followed by Black/African/Caribbean/Black British at 1.9 million (3.3%), Mixed/Multiple ethnic groups at 1.2 million (2.2%), and Other ethnic groups at 564,000 (1%)

I could ask AIBU to think that the ads on TV do not accurately reflect this breakdown. Just IMO of course.

araiwa · 28/05/2018 06:28

Is it the same model used for all shots?
