To think the Irish Abortion Referendum outcome will be a close call?

Polling day is within touching distance and from what I’ve seen on my social media channels, the vast majority seem to be swaying towards voting to Repeal. Do we think this is a true reflection of the majority or are the No side just less likely to be vocal on their social media channels? Whatever the outcome, I think it will be close.

What are everyone else’s thoughts?

Everything crossed here.

Oh Ireland I hope that poll is right. Will be so happy for you.

traciebanbanjo · 25/05/2018 22:44

There is next to no chance it's wrong! Start celebrating!!!

Eve · 25/05/2018 22:46

Northern Ireland now needs to be forced to consider its laws!!

ricardoshillyshally · 25/05/2018 22:48

Fantastic!

ThatEscalatedQuickly · 25/05/2018 22:48

I agree Eve but at least in the meantime women in NI will be able to travel south to access terminations rather than heading to England/Wales/Scotland.

MissMilo · 25/05/2018 22:49

Great news. Well done to all the yes campaigners.

AngeloMysterioso · 25/05/2018 22:50

@ThatEscalatedQuickly who’s the No spokesman?

Eve · 25/05/2018 22:53

Will def be easier for Northern Irish women - would be great if the NI politicians were embarrassed by their beligerent position - but sadly they won’t be! - quite the opposite!

BackInTime · 25/05/2018 23:00

I think what got overlooked is that older voters are the ones who would have suffered or known someone close who had suffered as a result of the inhumane stance that was taken.

I think this is so true, these older women have seen so much suffering and shame and they do not want other women to suffer like this. It is those in their 30’s & 40’s who have surprised me most with their ‘no’ stance as I would have expected the opposite.

Butterymuffin · 25/05/2018 23:01

That's amazing! I was unsure of how much trust to put in the exit poll but I don't think one has ever been wrong by that much. Fantastic news!

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 25/05/2018 23:05

When are the actual results due in...is it tomorrow

Fingers crossed!

C8H10N4O2 · 25/05/2018 23:07

I really hope those exit polls are correct, but am a bit hesitant to celebrate just yet

This is how I feel - the messages I'm getting are so hopeful but I have no idea how reliable those polls are. The percentages seem too high to be true, here's hoping they are not!

Actual results will be revealed tomorrow from 9am as each consitituency is counted. We will have an overall tally by the early evening.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 25/05/2018 23:09

Thank you that

PaulDacreRimsGeese · 25/05/2018 23:12

I could see them being an overestimate but even if it was out by 10%, which is unprecedented, that's still a win.

Returnofthesmileybar · 25/05/2018 23:19

Here comes the RTE poll .......

PaulDacreRimsGeese · 25/05/2018 23:19

Next up, Northern Ireland.

chartreuse · 25/05/2018 23:19

Even better

ThatEscalatedQuickly · 25/05/2018 23:20

69.4% Yes!

CoolCarrie · 25/05/2018 23:21
