To wonder why both Duchesses are so thin?

Talking about both the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex. And ok, I know IABU, but I thought I'd namechange and put it out there to see if other posters agreed. Putting my tin hat on, as I know I'll get lots of criticism for my gossipy thread. Oh well!

Both Catherine and Meghan are beautiful women with naturally lovely figures. But they are both so so extremely thin! Right now Kate is less thin, I assume because of her recent pregnancy and new baby, but no doubt she'll bounce back to her usual skinniness soon.

Kate was nowhere this thin before getting engaged and married into the RF. Meghan has always been very slim, but is now thinner than ever and I bet she won't gain the weight back. I remember even Diana lost loads of weight as soon as she got engaged and married! And she stayed very thin from then onwards.

Why does it seem like extreme thinness is a prerequisite to be a royal wife?

This thread had taken a horrible turn.

Meghan and Kate both have lovely, healthy looking figures.

Gwenhwyfar · 27/05/2018 23:24

"They're ridiculously underweight, who are people trying to kid. "

What's their weight and height then? We can't tell if they're underweight without knowing that.

categed · 27/05/2018 23:28

According to their online stats they are both have a healthy bmi, Meghans is just on healthy and Kate's is 19. Something. Very trim ladies. Kate's waist is 25" mine hasn't been that size since i was 17 😭😭

Jozxyqk · 27/05/2018 23:31

I agree, this thread is horrible. Morbidly voyeuristic. Society seems to have forgotten what a normal woman looks like. They are both slim, that's all.

littlegreyhare · 28/05/2018 08:35

Agree Pallisers being fit, strong and slim is a very good example to send to young women and as for the poster who said Kate looks skeletal I do rather wonder what you see? She's slim, totally different.

traciebanbanjo · 28/05/2018 08:41

I bet the people saying Kate is skeletal are huge and in denial about their own weight. She's healthy looking.

Verdad · 28/05/2018 08:51

Well I would kill to have Kate's figure, she looks incredible. Not keen on Meghan's tiny legs but she doesn't look underweight to me, just slim.

C0untDucku1a · 28/05/2018 08:54

What stopgap said.

Im a size 8-10 depending on how snacky my evenings are. The first place i lose weight is my face. So i often have rude people comment i look gaunt when ive got wobbly tum, bum and thighs because i’ll be wearing a forgiving dress.

formerbabe · 28/05/2018 08:57

I bet the people saying Kate is skeletal are huge and in denial about their own weight

Awww, that's a sweet comment.

IncyWincyMouseRat · 28/05/2018 09:02

They both have small frames and slim figures, I wouldn’t say they were unhealthily small though. I do think that there has been a trend over the last 15 or so years to normalise being what is considered by medics as ‘overweight’ to such an extent that anyone who is on the slimmer side of normal is considered ‘too thin’ now.

SerenDippitty · 28/05/2018 09:02

I bet the people saying Kate is skeletal are huge and in denial about their own weight. She's healthy looking.

I bet the people saying Kate is normal and healthy looking are underweight and in denial about their own weight.

How did that feel?

harshbuttrue1980 · 28/05/2018 09:07

Interesting how the decorative duchess Kate is so skinny, whereas the blood royals who either do lots of royal duties (the Queen, Anne, the late Queen Mum) or have paid jobs (Zara, Eugenie, Beatrice) are all of a normal size. I think it points to different priorities. Rather than public service, Kate seems to see her main role as being a fashion icon and celebrity. Therefore, I'm sure she spends more time than the others on hair, shopping, diet and exercise. Zara, who is self-supporting and also has no nanny, just won't have time to spend on faffing about with her appearance.

SerenDippitty · 28/05/2018 09:08

I don’t agree that they have small frames. They both have big hands and feet and their hands are quite veiny. Kate’s head looks too big for her body.

traciebanbanjo · 28/05/2018 09:41

have paid jobs (Zara, Eugenie, Beatrice)

What exactly do the last two do? They seem to have "jobs" with family friends that don't involve much work and lots and lots of holidays. They were wanting royal duties but thankfully the queen said no.

greenvalleys · 28/05/2018 09:49

Definitely not small frames. They both have wide shoulders.

whatyadoing · 28/05/2018 09:53

"They both have big hands and feet"Grin

Next you'll be saying they've hands like shovels... I've visions of Shrek here... Lol

Sevendown · 28/05/2018 09:58

Kate’s bmi of 19 is only .5 above anorexic level.

dontbesillyhenry · 28/05/2018 10:00

Lol you have to be huge to think someone who is quite clearly very thin is thin 🤣

Sevendown · 28/05/2018 10:02

According to the nhs website she is only 2lbs above being clinically underweight.

People who can’t see that probably have some kind of body dysmorphic disorder and/or eating disorder themselves.

dontbesillyhenry · 28/05/2018 10:05

Like I say seven parallel universe. Nobody I know in real life thinks that is a normal look

dontbesillyhenry · 28/05/2018 10:05

We must all clearly be fat fucks though obvs

bananafish81 · 28/05/2018 10:05

Kate’s bmi of 19 is only .5 above anorexic level.

That is bollocks

The lower limit of healthy range is 18.5

BMI associated with anorexia is well below 17

19 is absolutely fine

EdWinchester · 28/05/2018 10:21

How on earth do we know Kate's bmi? It's all conjecture.

And if it is 19, that is a healthy weight.

Nothing about either of these women's figures suggests they are anything but healthy. They don't look drawn or sallow or bony - quite the opposite. Meghan's toned and muscular arms and shoulders in her wedding evening dress had me in BodyPump the next day!

whatyadoing · 28/05/2018 10:24

All I know is that if I looked in the mirror and saw their reflection, I'd be quite content!

PoorYorick · 28/05/2018 10:26

This reminds me a of a joke:

Two men meet up and one announces that he is a psychologist. To prove it, he asks the other man, "Do you have a cat?"

"Yes."

"Aha! You're married, with children, and a garden."

"Incredible. How do you know?"

"Well, women like cats so you would have to be married. They make a good environment for families, so you must have children. And cats need gardens, as do children. That's how I know."

"Incredible!" the second man says. "I must try that."

He goes on to meet another man, stops him and asks, "Excuse me, sir, do you have a cat?"

"No."

"Aha! You're gay!"
