To wonder why both Duchesses are so thin?

Talking about both the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex. And ok, I know IABU, but I thought I'd namechange and put it out there to see if other posters agreed. Putting my tin hat on, as I know I'll get lots of criticism for my gossipy thread. Oh well!

Both Catherine and Meghan are beautiful women with naturally lovely figures. But they are both so so extremely thin! Right now Kate is less thin, I assume because of her recent pregnancy and new baby, but no doubt she'll bounce back to her usual skinniness soon.

Kate was nowhere this thin before getting engaged and married into the RF. Meghan has always been very slim, but is now thinner than ever and I bet she won't gain the weight back. I remember even Diana lost loads of weight as soon as she got engaged and married! And she stayed very thin from then onwards.

Why does it seem like extreme thinness is a prerequisite to be a royal wife?

Remember this is the forum where a whole lot of posters went all gooey when it looked a bit as if Catherine had left dry shampoo in her hair at an event when George was a baby. “Oh, look. Bless her. She didn’t even have time to wash her hair. Just like us, she is. A busy mum. Just like us......”

formerbabe · 25/05/2018 13:39

I know BertrandRussell. Makes me cringe so bad!

expatinscotland · 25/05/2018 13:59

Oh, yes, Bertrand, and all the 'She'll have two under two!' threads. But then there were the bonkers threads 'Kate looked miserable at Harry's wedding, maybe she's jealous she married William.'

Hotfootit · 27/05/2018 09:25

Haven't RTFT (because I'm not interested in the RF) so I expect someone has already said this but.......
......it's probably because people spend their time discussing their weight in the internet and in newspapers

DameDoom · 27/05/2018 12:46

I do not think for one minute that Kate and Meghan are 'just like us' . They aren't. But I don't get the slagging off either.
One of my closest friends was/is a well-known model before she moved to Yorkshire and got into wellies and muck. At 47, she is still a raving beauty, very slim and gorgeous-looking. There are people we know who actively dislike her for this which is odd because she is a lovely woman.
She is naturally thin and eats well with some junk for treats. I cannot eat what she does otherwise I'd be massive. I also have the legs of a northern pit pony. I low-carb and she doesn't have to. We are lucky in different ways.

Myheartbelongsto · 27/05/2018 12:57

Meghan has the worst legs I've ever seen.

DameDoom · 27/05/2018 13:11

Myheartbelongsto compared to mine they are bloody lush. Yours must be amazing.

chavtasticfirebanger · 27/05/2018 13:31

^ youve not seen mine
Id love to look like either of them!

DameDoom · 27/05/2018 13:37

It's a proper game of two halves on here - we have people who are quite happy to remark and compliment other women's attractiveness and some who delight in denigrating others.

VogueVVague · 27/05/2018 13:41

@Myheartbelongsto
Jealous much?

I think both the duchesses are extremely good looking, slender women.

Its possible that despite the "fuller figure" crusade the truth is that actually a lot of men do prefer a slim woman.

That may be why theyre both slender.

Plus media presence, chefs, personal trainers etc

Myheartbelongsto · 27/05/2018 14:19

Gosh no not jealous at all.

littlegreyhare · 27/05/2018 15:19

I agree Dame I am more than happy to say both women are completely stunning and find it shocking and depressing when people tear them apart for their 'knuckles' or whatever, I mean wtf?? Or that the dress wasn't quite a perfect fit. I would so love to see their wedding photos Confused

Are they “thin” or healthy? I bet their BMI is normal, but our perception of what is normal has changed.

whatyadoing · 27/05/2018 15:59

People don't realise that you can be fit, healthy and thin. I am guessing they work out a lot, probably Pilates, Yoga, gym and eat healthily. Neither of them look unhealthy - quite the opposite. Probably 10 times healthier than your average Susan.

whatyadoing · 27/05/2018 16:01

For reference, I am of a similar figure, but I work hard in the gym, eat a lot of protein, veg, and ahem - chocolate. I am as fit as a fiddle, but I work hard. Believe me, I'd love to sit on my arse. But I want to be healthy. I enjoy being fit, strong and looking good. It is hard work, but it pays off.

whatyadoing · 27/05/2018 16:06

As for attraction, I am not at all attracted to overweight men.

I know that studies have proven that men feel similar.

whatyadoing · 27/05/2018 16:07

Sort your arse out and get up off it if you want to look and feel better.

VogueVVague · 27/05/2018 16:14

@Openup41
My legs are the same as meghans except longer.

Men (at least the men ive had) love them.

I eat well and also exercise. My legs are genetically like that and some women (always women) express faux concern from time to time.

I feel and look good and i bet MM does too.

Im sorry if this is a hard thing for some posters to accept.

Stillwishihadabs · 27/05/2018 16:23

I was slimmer in my 30's than in my early 20's. I was generally just more health conscious, drank less and was busier (including having 2 dcs) I didn't realise it was so unusual (or Royal even!) like many people I think I was at one of my thinnest on my wedding day ( the usual stres + I got gastric flu a week before). Was going to post some pics but didn't have the bottle Angry ( embarrassed)

Summersnake · 27/05/2018 16:25

Obesity is actually associated with being poor..you have little money so buy carbs and fatty foods...to fill you up..with money comes plentyfull fruit and veg and a chef to count calories, plus a gym membership to tone up...ofcourse they will be thin...it's laughable to say otherwise

chavtasticfirebanger · 27/05/2018 17:51

I dont think many men fancy overweight women. Not something id diet for though. Good job im happy single!
