To think urinating in the shower isn't a bad thing?

It all gets washed away anyway and you can clean yourself straight after Confused how come some people see this on a par apparently with dirtiness Kim+Aggie would faint at?

Peeing in the shower is fine. Taking a dump can be problematic. I sometimes have to use DH's toothbrush to poke it down the plughole

ciderhouserules · 24/05/2018 17:32

Ye it falls vertically - down your leg. Unless you are a man, or standing wit legs wide apart, it will adhere to the surface of your leg - and get washed away. It doesn't splash. Or spray anywhere! Try it and you'll see Grin
Soap-infused pee? Surely everything gets rinsed off? I don't clean my bath-and-shower combo every day, not even every week. And there are 4 of us showering per day.
@claire90 - it doesn't splash! We are not racehorses. It trickles. Even if there's lots of it, unless you are bending over, forcing it out and up the walls, it will not splash or spray. Hmm

KittenBeast · 24/05/2018 17:35

The amount of people concerned about it 'splashing up walls' must have fucking weird urethras. You should probably see a doctor about that.

Believeitornot · 24/05/2018 17:37

I wee in the shower because it’s more environmentally friendly, saving water.

The foul water from the bathroom connects to the same sewer as the toilet anyway.

I also clean my bath regularly and never have a problem with wee solids (!), wee smells etc etc.

Candlelight123 · 24/05/2018 17:41

what if it gets splashed on to flannels or sponges? Or, as others have said, ends up staying on the walls? - whaaaat?? I guess if you do a handstand and pee that could happen ?!? 😂😂
Ffs it's just a tiny bit of pee washed down by gallons of soapy water!

user1471447863 · 24/05/2018 17:43

If you're going up about a little bit of pee in a shower, you don't want to know what your teenage will be doing in there. And your husband. And probably any male overnight visitor.

As for hotels, at least the showers are cleaned between guests - they are the least of your worries. You can bet some sweaty oaf has sat naked all over that room - never mind what bodily fluids have leaked onto the bed over the years.

KittenBeast · 24/05/2018 17:45

Candlelight because obviously we all shower stood on an assortment of flannels and sponges, right?!

SharpieHorder · 24/05/2018 17:46

Peeing in the shower certainly saves water and could only leave a smell if the shower is faulty and is not washing everything like bubbles and body sweat or dirt away. IMO everyone does it but some anally retentive types won't admit it. Same as peeing in the bath and they need to get over themselves. Just not with pee Grin

GallicosCats · 24/05/2018 17:46

This thread has reminded me to ask older DS to go out later and pee on the compost!

Apparently the compost-activator is only present in male wee. Well, that's what DH says.

Weeing in the shower is absolutely fine, I can’t even imagine being so uptight that I wouldn’t! Saves on water anyway, and time. Two birds one stone and all that.

pollymere · 24/05/2018 17:52

My toilet goes into a soil pipe, my shower goes into the drain. So you could end up with a house that stinks.

missbattenburg · 24/05/2018 17:59

I wee out on dogwalks and my dogs ALWAYS have to come and watch! It's disconcerting to be weeing in the long grass with a terrier eye-to-eye with you..

I do that! Last time I shouted at the dog that he was MEANT to be on look out duty and he promptly trotted up to the top of the hill and stood guard Grin

Mummyoflittledragon · 24/05/2018 18:00

Polly
A soil pipe is really only needed for soiling. Ie poo.

Luisa27 · 24/05/2018 18:04

QueenDoris ahahaha 😂

Ahahaha 😂

mostdays · 24/05/2018 18:12

I'm worried about those of you whose urine is so smelly that peeing in the shower and washing it away with gallons of soapy water would leave your house stinking.

GladAllOver · 24/05/2018 18:13

My toilet goes into a soil pipe, my shower goes into the drain. So you could end up with a house that stinks.

Only if you peed in the shower without running any water, and who would ever do that?

In the shower it takes me about 10 seconds to pee, and about 5 minutes of hot soapy water to wash hair and body. The pee is diluted to infinitesimal levels. The only smell will be the soap.

OJZJ · 24/05/2018 18:18

Only on 1st page and already writing....apologies if anyone else environmentally aware has already posted
VauxhallVectra before getting on your porcelain high horse about controlling yourself as an adult etc please read the BBC news thread re Go with the Flow campaign urging people to pee in the shower. If everyone in the UK did this it would save over 720million litres of water a year and they were advising students to pee in the shower at East Anglia Uni saying if everyone at the uni did it, the water saved wpuld fill god knows how many Olympic sized pools.
So OP and everyone else go with the flow Grin

OJZJ · 24/05/2018 18:19

Apologies for typo errors my Siamese was helping me type this

EdWinchester · 24/05/2018 18:23

🙄
Seriously surprised at how many posters don’t get the basics of a domestic drainage system.

Ladymadness · 24/05/2018 18:23

There are two types of people in this world
People who pee in the shower
And liars Grin

MaidofEyes · 24/05/2018 18:33

I'm guessing everyone in my house wees in the shower and I can assure you that our house does not 'stink' of wee.

Yet I clean the loos and wipe them down every day and still they carry the faint odour of piss.

TwitterQueen1 · 24/05/2018 18:40

Yes, Ladymadness Grin Grin

I figure that the ammonia in my wee also goes a little way to help dissolve some of the shampoo/conditioner/soap gunk that 3 DDs contribute to our drainage system.

OJZJ I didn't know that. What a great idea. Apparently we're all going to be told how much we should be using so capping can't be far away.

I spit my mouthwash out when I'm in the shower too...

Esspee · 24/05/2018 18:46

After childbirth I had an uncontrollable bladder when in water. I made a point of emptying it before having a bath, shower or going in the pool but it let me down every.single.time! Gave up swimming because peeing in a pool is completely unacceptable (the sea was different) but it took a couple of years to regain complete control (except sometimes when I sneeze Grin)
