Meghan's dress was lovely but lumpy looking,/ill fitting bra look

Anyone else notice how lumpy it looked at front like when you wear a bra that's two small and you have two cleavages lt spoiled it for me tbh though l think she looked stunning. I thought it might just be the light as it is quite shimmery but have noticed it in several shots /light now. A wardrobe malfunction?

I hope Megan is too busy being happy and in love with her groom to read a lot if this shite!. She looked beautiful. Both dresses were stunning. One of the reasons I'm pretty sure I will unsubscribe from mumsnet is the vile people who post nothing but criticism and vitriol about anything and everything anyone posts.

She looked amazing and the dress was “her”. She was glowing. I think anything more would have been too much. She’s such a natural beauty, she could have worn whatever and still would have looked gorgeous. She looked gorgeous and calm despite having millions of people watching her. Love that Harry picked the flowers of her bouquet. Her second dress was even more stunning!! I bet if it were possible that dress would sell out in less than an hour.

She would have had criticism regardless of what she wore. If she would have worn something with more bling, some would have said yep.. gold digger or a bit risqué .. trashy, glam.. typical Hollywood actress. Some people just like to nitpick Just say it’s not your taste and leave it at that. Besides, she impressed who she loves most and that’s what really matters.

I agree with

adorkableme · 20/05/2018 19:39

I agree with other posters, she looked brilliant!

Wouldn’t let it get to you but if it’s all too much...

'hope Megan is too busy being happy and in love with her groom to read a lot if this shite!. '
I think we can safely say she has far more entertaining things to be doing then going on chat forums to see what people thought of her £100k dress.

Ellyess · 20/05/2018 19:48

FreeMantle Agreed! There is this obligatory "The bride was beautiful" chant required and we are really in trouble if we don't join in. I do think she looked lovely. I don't think I should feel obliged to have to say so without any criticism. I do think that the dress, considering it was made by a top couture, at a huge price, had bad ill-fitting lumpiness in the fabric around the bust. This wasn't the Bride's fault, it was the Couturier's fault. I believe I have the right to my opinion and I should be allowed to point out the less-than-perfect fit of the bridal gown. We all know the story of the Emperor's clothes. Are we supposed to sing that song at this wedding? (and the rest?)

PasstheStarmix · 20/05/2018 19:48

Meghan really suited her dress. She wore the dress and the dress didn’t wear her meaning her natural beauty shone. You can’t say that for a lot of brides who wear over the top blingy overly embroidered monstrousities. As for her bust I really think OP is being pedantic as Megan has a figure to die for.

Yamayo · 20/05/2018 19:51

FFS how is it vitriol to say the dress looked ill-fitting?
It was a beautiful classic design. Close up the neckline/tiara/veil/makeup was beautiful and she was glowing.
However from a distance there was a bulge on the boobs and a crease at the waist and I think she was a bit short for that style.

Still she looked radiant and Harry was clearly impressed.
All some of us are a saying is that for that amount of money the dress didn't look as good as it should have.

Are we not allowed to talk dress at a wedding?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/05/2018 19:52

About the flowers on the veil - hasn't the Queen made Harry a Commonwealth Youth Ambassador?

I just thought the design might be a reflection of that ...

PasstheStarmix · 20/05/2018 19:55

She needs to have room to move, the fit was fine.

Yamayo · 20/05/2018 19:57

Imagine if she'd worn this one
...Grin

Meghan's dress was lovely but lumpy looking,/ill fitting bra look
tootruetoyou · 20/05/2018 19:57

She did look lovely but I think a lot of young women wearing a dress that cost that much and an army of the best hairdressers, stylists, make up artists etc. available to them would look pretty good.

If the couple were really the modern, right on, progressive, socially conscious people they say they are they could have had a much more low key affair and our taxes could have been spent on good causes instead.

SomethingOnce · 20/05/2018 19:58

Gosh.

TheFatkinsDiet · 20/05/2018 20:07

Wowsers @yamayo. I mean, she’s got a stunning figure, so I guess if you’ve got it, etc, etc. I would look like a rolled joint of pork in that. The guests would run screaming, Grin or just... boohoo Wink.

Plumbuddle · 20/05/2018 20:16

But Harry is going to be the next head of commonwealth after Charles, according to the Queen.

Teacher22 · 20/05/2018 20:19

Blimey, I thought she looked radiant and the dress was lovely.

traciebanbanjo · 20/05/2018 20:19

I was expecting alot more, starting off their marriage modesty and making some kind of social stance. But no.

All the charity work is just for status it looks like.

PolarBearkshire · 20/05/2018 20:22

Personally I think it was a fabulous dress on a fabulous woman. If you want to find issues - it is always easy.

Buteo · 20/05/2018 20:23

I thought the Commonwealth flowers were to represent Harry's (and by extension Meghan's) new job as Commonwealth youth ambassador? That's what the BBC said on the commentary.

Lweji · 20/05/2018 20:23

What kind of social stance?

Recycled dress?
Homeless guests?

itchyknees · 20/05/2018 20:25

Traciebanjo are you kidding me??? She dressed modestly whilst simultaneously promoting a British designer, and her chap has free access to loads of castles and diamonds!

And how much more to the economy do you think the whole thing brought? Tons and tons and tons!

But perhaps she should have had pie mash and liquor?

itchyknees · 20/05/2018 20:27

The queen and prince Charles stood shoulder to shoulder with a divorced black foreign social worker with locks! They had an episcopalian firebrand preach at the head of the Church of England, in her home! Traciebanjo I’m laughing!

Cuppaoftea · 20/05/2018 20:30

But Harry is going to be the next head of commonwealth after Charles, according to the Queen.

No he isn't, he's a youth ambassador. Lets see how much time he makes for that inbetween hanging out with Hollywood pals.

Charles is taking over as Head of the Commonwealth after being nominated by the Queen and all the other countries agreeing.

The position isn't hereditary though and apparently there were some who thought it should rotate between countries. I imagine that is likely to happen in the future (if the Commonwealth stays together which is far from certain of course).

Plumbuddle · 20/05/2018 20:36

Oh sorry, thanks for clarifying. I agree with your post. I have not paid that much attention to the royal aspect, been more interested in the family dramas backstage so watched the show to see if some bad fairy would burst into the ceremony. I thought the Royal Family made a poor show of appearing to be supportive of MM's mum. At one point she even appeared to be consigned to a footman to be ushered somewhere. So what the veil would suggest (apart from being very beautiful and a good contrast to a plain gown) would be a bid for the role in due course several decades down the line.

I've been a bit worried by the counter accusations of bitching. I don't go on MN frequently but it seems to me to be one of those terms which is used against people who disagree with you. This whole thread appears to be dedicated mainly to discussions about couture and fertility, hardly a bitch fest compared to other sites.

FriendlyOcelot · 20/05/2018 20:37

My dress was £300 but better fitting. Grin

It wasn’t as nice though, I’ll give you that. And I would have traded it in for her 20k number in a heartbeat, ill-fitting or not, because the design of her dress was utterly divine Grin. Although all I could think was that my armpits would have sweated like a pig’s in those long weighty sleeves.

I do get what some say about it looking like the prototype rather than the finished product.
