Meghan's dress was lovely but lumpy looking,/ill fitting bra look

Anyone else notice how lumpy it looked at front like when you wear a bra that's two small and you have two cleavages lt spoiled it for me tbh though l think she looked stunning. I thought it might just be the light as it is quite shimmery but have noticed it in several shots /light now. A wardrobe malfunction?

I noticed the little smile when children were mentioned, and I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of possibility that there will be a winter baby Grin

OlennasWimple · 20/05/2018 18:42

But why should anyone think that the Commonwealth flowers on the veil is some kind of insult, either, RoseWhiteTips? I'm genuinely confused by that - especially as the Queen gives her blessing to the dresses worn by royal brides, she doesn't just see them on the day like the rest of us

PortiaCastis · 20/05/2018 18:42

Im sure MM would've asked the Queen about the flowers when the discussion about the tiara took place

Ruffian · 20/05/2018 18:43

C'mon Galway, would all those people have been lining the streets if she was just an ordinary looking woman with the same personality? Her glamour is an essential part of the 'fairy-tale' that people were looking for.

Of course it's sexism, Harry can look as much of a heap as he likes but she will continue to be scrutinised and i'll bet the likes of the mail etc are just waiting for a chance to put the boot in.

SoupDragon · 20/05/2018 18:45

Re: Soup Dragon
I watched it live and both the Queen and Prince Philip were seated (last guests to arrive) 5 minutes before the bride arrived.
She did not walk down the aisle in front of the Queen - she walked halfway down on her own and the Prince Charles took her arm - they walked together up to the alter where Harry and best man William were waiting.

If you are going to post - do get the basics correct

Eh?

Kim1010 · 20/05/2018 18:45

I thought it was beautiful! she looked very elegant, & her lovely smile was the finishing touch, We were there through charity involvement and saw it in the flesh, must say it looked better than on camera ...

Lweji · 20/05/2018 18:47

Maybe she should have had the star spangled banner instead.

Cuppaoftea · 20/05/2018 18:47

Kate's wedding dress lace included the flowers of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, but I don't recall anyone wringing their hands about that

Because Kate is the future Queen Consort of the four countries of the UK so that symbolism on her wedding dress was appropriate.

Do all of you lot bitching about the veil think for one second that MM would have been allowed it if the queen found it upstarty or offensive?! Protocol will have governed every part of this wedding. No doubt the queen actually thought it was a lovely tribute to something that is so important to Harry.

Again it wasn't a state occasion and Harry and Meghan aren't bound by the same protocols as William and Kate.

Since leaving military service a playboy lifestyle has seemed more important to Harry up to now. Here's hoping that's changed.

Well actually yes, I think thousands would have turned out for Harry's wedding whoever the bride. But my point is, the people saying it's fair game to criticise her for her appearance because they see it as part of her job are pure misogynists. It's not her duty, it's not necessary for her role, it's not her moral responsibility to look any particular way.

Gottagetmoving · 20/05/2018 18:51

Meghan looked naturally beautiful and the dress was simple and classy. The whole effect was stunning and I can't understand why anyone would find cause to criticise it at all.
I bet most of you have never looked that attractive in a dress.

EdWinchester · 20/05/2018 18:53

I missed most of it yesterday and have caught up with it today.

Meghan looked absolutely beautiful.

The dress was exquisite and the evening dress was to die for.

Was there ever a more perfect bride? She was so self-assured and beaming with happiness.

I am a Republican, I think the whole royal family thing is rather ridiculous. But as a celeb wedding - it was a treat.

QueenoftheNights · 20/05/2018 18:55

I doubt very much that she is up the duff already Hmm (re looseness of frock.)

They were pushing boundaries somewhat already without adding a baby pre- marriage.

Can you imagine if she was suffering from morning sickness like Kate during the ceremony? I don't think either of them are that silly.

Dapplegrey · 20/05/2018 18:56

Why did the dress have to cost 200 k?

Rosewhite - and you know for certain that's how much the dress cost, or did you read that figure in the paper?

Icanttakemuchmore · 20/05/2018 18:57

I know I'm goung to get shot down in flames but I thought she looked rather plain, her hair was coming out of its style, a necklace would have been nice, and the dress was too plain and yes I noticed the lumps too. I did like the neckline though. For the money that was spent on the dress it could have had more detail and looked stunning. The train looked like net curtain, sorry! The best bit was the tiara tbh.

Gottagetmoving · 20/05/2018 18:57

Being pregnant is silly?! Why is anyone speculating about a pregnancy? FFS, give them a bloody chance to be married for now.

OlennasWimple · 20/05/2018 18:58

As I said upthread, it's been pretty widely reported that HMQ approves the wedding dress in advance. I reckon if she's OK with it we can assume no snub was intended or received...

Because Kate is the future Queen Consort of the four countries of the UK so that symbolism on her wedding dress was appropriate

If we're going down this ridiculous line of reasoning, Kate should have had all the Commonwealth countries represented on her dress instead of only the four UK countries, as she will one day be Queen Consort for the whole Commonwealth - HMQ herself is very clear that she is queen of the whole lot. As it is, Kate had the four countries, Meghan had the Commonwealth (plus California and a couple of other flowers that were important to her and Harry). There was no snub / upstartery / offence committed.

whywhywhywhywhyyy · 20/05/2018 19:00

Meghan's an apple shape and the dress didn't work on her.

Loved her makeup though.

SomethingOnce · 20/05/2018 19:02

I didn’t know she straightened her hair.

Not that it’s my business but I’d love to see her natural hair (I Googled, it’s gorgeous), since she does such a beautiful natural(ish) face.

SomethingOnce · 20/05/2018 19:06

Well Harry isn’t exactly one for boundaries, is he?

In for a penny, in for a pound, I say Smile

If that's the case then fair enough. Question answered.

itchyknees · 20/05/2018 19:13

I thought she looked radiant and Harry is clearly mad about her. It was such a lovely day. And I’d put money on a little Sussex already being a twinkle in his parents’ eye.

Cardiganqueen71 · 20/05/2018 19:19

Good heavens. She looked amazing and I am appalled that people are bitching. If you can’t say anything nice then just be quiet. I’m sure the people moaning all looked absolutely perfect on their wedding days, if they have had one. Her smile was the best thing and if I ever get married I can only hope to look half as stunning as her.

FreeMantle · 20/05/2018 19:20

IT really hacks me off that you aren't allowed to criticise anything about womens appearance or be called misogynistic, yet every person on here feels obliged to call her beautiful.
Why does it still matter how sodding pretty women are.
I don't mind judging her dress or her interviews but the fact she got lucky with her gene pool is neither here nor there.
Harry was allowed to wear a scruffy beard without causing ructions but Kate's loose hair ....madness.

Yorkshirebetty · 20/05/2018 19:23

They're booked in to do a tour of Australia, New Zealand and Fiji in October, so I'd be very surprised if there's a pregnancy before next year.

C8H10N4O2 · 20/05/2018 19:24

Anyone who thinks the Palace don't approve every aspect of the plans is kidding themselves. That includes the design of the wedding dress and any symbolism involved.

Kate, Sara Ferguson and Diana all included floral and symbolic motifs representing the UK and/or Commonwealth countries. Sophie Wessex did also but from memory to a lessor extent. Symbolism on the dress is standard practice for royal brides.
