Meghan's dress was lovely but lumpy looking,/ill fitting bra look

Anyone else notice how lumpy it looked at front like when you wear a bra that's two small and you have two cleavages lt spoiled it for me tbh though l think she looked stunning. I thought it might just be the light as it is quite shimmery but have noticed it in several shots /light now. A wardrobe malfunction?

It’s altar

Yorkshirebetty · 20/05/2018 18:19

I thought she looked stunning and the fit was fine. Not skin tight, not sprayed on, but elegant and chic. Best of all she looked very very happy. As did he!

GalwayWayfarer · 20/05/2018 18:19

@RoseWhiteTips perhaps, unlike you, MM doesn't judge PH purely by his rank in the succession chart?

Abra1de · 20/05/2018 18:20

Don’t forget Princess Anne, of the blood royal. Camilla and Kate have to curtesy to her if their husbands aren’t in the room.

OlennasWimple · 20/05/2018 18:22

Bumpy fitting... I reckon some people need to get to Spec Savers!

Harry and Meghan asked for donations to charity in lieu of presents, including a charity in India which makes affordable sanitary protection

Dickorydockwhatthe · 20/05/2018 18:22

The dress wasn't to my taste but I thought it was simple and romantic and completely suited her. To be honest I just thought she looked so naturally beautiful she could wear a bin liner and still look stunning.
Kate's dress was lemon and she looked equally beautiful. She has worn the outfit serverall times. Kate seems very lovely and I hate these comparisons between the two women I doubt very much that kate is trying to compete or outshine Meghan!! She will be our future queen Fgs!! Both seem lovely, both have their own style and both are beautiful but they are there own women.

Ruffian · 20/05/2018 18:23

And finally, it's not her duty to look good. Regardless of the fact that most people think she did look beautiful, no woman owes it to the world to be pretty regardless of their role

It is going to be an essential part of her 'duty' to look good and be critiqued on every aspect of her appearance.

AntiqueSinger · 20/05/2018 18:24

Oh for goodness sake! I am black and questioned if it was upstarty in the context of the Queen being the head of the commonwealth and the implications of rank and so on. I don't need a lesson on dog whistle racism, I experience it all the time, thank you very much! Stop assuming the cultural background of people posting on MN!

What I resent is the implication that I can't say something critical about another black person equally as I can say something nice about them.

Her 2nd dress was great. And I thought the first was great but not as well fitted as it could have been. The veil was beautiful. I am not sure regarding the protocol of the commonwealth flowers on the veil however.

Glitterbugg · 20/05/2018 18:24

I thought it was a nice understated glamour type dress. I did think, it looked quite thick and thought she must be boiling.

Abra1de · 20/05/2018 18:25

Why did the dress have to cost 200 k? That sum would have gone a long way in the fight against poverty in Africa or wherever MM’s interests lie.
And no one can dispute that.

I do.

I thought she looked elegant and classy, better than squeezing plump and over-fake-baked bodies into low-cut sleeveless dresses and painting on gallons of make-up.

Iseveryusernametaken · 20/05/2018 18:26

An absolutely beautiful woman in an elegant and sophisticated dress and all everyone wants to say is 'it's badly fitted' 'you can see her nipples' 'she must be pregnant / bulimic'.

Another stunning woman, who gave birth 3 weeks ago, in a beautiful primrose yellow outfit, who would not really have known what size she would need until a few days ago and again everyone wants to berate and criticise her choices.

I'm starting to understand why bullying is so prevalent in schools and the workplace if these are the views of 'mums'. Neither am I surprised by the rise in eating disorders. Why can't people just be nice?

Incidentally, she paid for her own dress and the wedding was funded by proceeds of the crown estate. The tax payer only paid for security which was also in the public interest due to the thousands that attended and lined the streets.

Katherine2626 · 20/05/2018 18:27

It was beautifully fitted! Had it been any tighter it would have spoiled the line. Apart from which if you have skin tight clothes they ride up - not a good look.

LineyGrantDuff · 20/05/2018 18:28

I bet her husband is fitter than yours Grin

Cuppaoftea · 20/05/2018 18:31

For those interested in dog whistle racism, it's worth thinking about the implications of words like "upstart".

Within our Royal Family rank matters. It's just the way hereditary monarchy works and no Hollywood style PR is going to change that.

The years of service the Queen has given matter too, just as she's stepping down as Head of the Commonwealth for Charles to succeed her Meghan choosing the flowers of the Commonwealth did seem disrespectful to me. She is not assuming Queen Elizabeth's position.

RoseWhiteTips · 20/05/2018 18:31

Of course they do. As they do to Bea and Eugenie who are also of Royal blood.

GalwayWayfarer · 20/05/2018 18:31

If this is true, it shouldn't be. It's pure sexism to insist that a woman has to be beautiful to be an ambassador. We shouldn't be happy to accept this misogyny as the norm.

Even if Meghan weren't beautiful and stylish (which she is), her intelligence and warmth and enthusiasm are the qualities that will actually be relevant to her role.

OlennasWimple · 20/05/2018 18:32

Don't worry - there is nothing precluding anyone wearing Commonwealth flowers on anything, including MM wearing them on her wedding veil

Kate's wedding dress lace included the flowers of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, but I don't recall anyone wringing their hands about that

Angielester1 · 20/05/2018 18:34

OMG how mean people are being.

Meghan, I thought, looked stunning. The train nodding to the commonwealth, the tiara that was sparkly and delicate, the dress which was perfect for her and the make up that was very natural.
Who needs a huge dress when you you are so lo lovely and glowing because you’re in love?
I believe she paid for own dress, the wedding was paid for out of the crown funds and only the security paid for by the public.
Hats off to them, I hope they live long and prosper.

MRSsqueak · 20/05/2018 18:34

she looked beautiful but i did think it looked a little loose on top in the waist and bust. thought maybe it was to conceal that she is possibly pregnant?? then when there was a referance to bringing children into marriage a tiny smile showed on both of their faces. not saying she is pregnant but made me a little suspicious but it would be lovely. william has said more than once how much his children adore harry and how he thinks he will make a great dad :)

RoseWhiteTips · 20/05/2018 18:34

AntiqueSinger, exactly so.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 20/05/2018 18:34

The dress can't be too tight, it will ride up and she wouldn't have been be able to move and sit in it. It would have creased horribly after the service.

It was fitted, but not tight, she wasn't going for a Kim K. type of dress.

She looked stunning.

GalwayWayfarer · 20/05/2018 18:35

Do all of you lot bitching about the veil think for one second that MM would have been allowed it if the queen found it upstarty or offensive?! Protocol will have governed every part of this wedding. No doubt the queen actually thought it was a lovely tribute to something that is so important to Harry.

RoseWhiteTips · 20/05/2018 18:38

OlennasWimple

Of course not. Who should they? Kate is the wife of a future king and is the mother of a future king. The kingdom is still united - just.

SundayGirls · 20/05/2018 18:39

For me, it's not the fit of the dress in terms of loose or tight etc - that looks fine. It's not meant to be tightly fitted.

However in a great proportion of the pictures, it seems to be pulling from the left waist to the right bust, resulting in a diagonal crease.

AskAuntLydia · 20/05/2018 18:40

LOLOLOL at the commonwealth flowers being disrespectful.

I bet the queen's really regretting lending her that tiara to keep that disrespectful veil in place!

Hmm
