Meghan's dress was lovely but lumpy looking,/ill fitting bra look

Anyone else notice how lumpy it looked at front like when you wear a bra that's two small and you have two cleavages lt spoiled it for me tbh though l think she looked stunning. I thought it might just be the light as it is quite shimmery but have noticed it in several shots /light now. A wardrobe malfunction?

I liked Pippa’s dress but it was unsuitable for a church / state occasion, IMO.

It goes back to what a Pp said about what we have become used to. Clingy, body hugging ‘sexy’ silhouettes, aka a bit tacky for tne occasion. MM showed she is a grown up, which give some of the nasty bitchy shallow stuff said about her (including here) was in her favour.

AntiqueSinger · 20/05/2018 17:13

What I did think a bit much was Meghan walking down the aisle in front of the Queen with an endless veil embroidered with all the flowers of the Commonwealth, whatever ambassadorial role she plans on taking Meghan will never be Queen of the Commonwealth

I hadn't considered that. Do you think it was a bit upstarty? I think M and H will have a big role in the commonwealth. But yeah I guess that was a bit Hmm

RoseWhiteTips · 20/05/2018 17:19

Agree about the presumption of using the Commonwealth as a motif. Last time I looked, the US was not in that grouping.

RoseWhiteTips · 20/05/2018 17:21

Pippa’s dress was not in the least bit unsuitable for church. As for state occasion, the wedding was not a state occasion. (Think slebs...)

Spiteful nonsense. It's clear from the engagements already undertaken by the couple that they are going to be heavily involved in commonwealth activities, and I thought the veil was a lovely tribute to that future role and to Harry, who already does so much for the commonwealth. This comment is typical of the sneery attitude that Meghan is somehow an upstart - and I'm sure that stems from the fact that she's a biracial American and not the 'English rose' a lot of you would have preferred to see Harry marrying.

herecomesthsun · 20/05/2018 17:33

I thought she looked gorgeous watching it through at the time. Lovely wedding, I hope they are very happy.

However, in the evening, we chanced on a programme showing highlights, I noticed that it looked as though she could have done with more support from her underpinnings, and with a more opaque bra.

I guess that even with a horde of advisors and stylists etc., you can't get every detail absolutely perfect and some little thing can be a bit awry on the day. She still looked stunning, and Harry still looked stunned, which is how it should be, and I hope they are both very happy.

Smudge100 · 20/05/2018 17:34

Looked as if the last fitting was a couple of weeks before and she’d lost weight. You’d think when the eyes of the world are upon you and the frock costs £200k the designer would do the last fitting the day before! But she scrubbed up well enough. Pity Harry didn’t bother to shave though.

Lweji · 20/05/2018 17:35

Spiteful nonsense.

This.

People will find the smallest excuses to be angry about.

PortiaCastis · 20/05/2018 17:38

She looked amazing end of

The80sweregreat · 20/05/2018 17:38

Harry looked a scruff / the uniforms looked too tight and too hot. I thought ( at one point) he was going to be ill or faint and looked tired. Probably nerves I know -

  • but he could have had a shave.
RoseWhiteTips · 20/05/2018 17:41

Oprah looked horrendous. People stayed up all night to produce that?

PortiaCastis · 20/05/2018 17:43

Ah well I doubt she's bitching on a forum

RoseWhiteTips · 20/05/2018 17:43

PH should not have had the beard but his grandmother apparently gave him permission so...

He should get a buzz cut because he is losing his hair fast and the texture is not great.

RoseWhiteTips · 20/05/2018 17:44

Well, obviously🙄

ALongHardWinter · 20/05/2018 17:44

Made a change from the shoulder-less,sleeveless wedding dresses that seem to be the norm for 95% of brides these days.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 20/05/2018 17:45

What people up all night? And fwiw Oprah look perfectly fine, what are you on about?

Pensionista · 20/05/2018 17:46

She looked elegant and stunning. He looke handsome and in love. I was proud to be British, no one does it like us. The scenery from the air was breathtaking. Great for business and future tourisim. It's so easy to critisize, but to me this was a lovely day in the UK.

Yorkshirebetty · 20/05/2018 17:48

Oprah had a beige outfit, but was worried it would look cream/white on the day and be a no no. So Stella Mccartney's team stayed up all night to make her a pink dress.

GalwayWayfarer · 20/05/2018 17:49

@RoseWhiteTips has anything ever come out of your mouth that wasn't pure nastiness? There is no other person on this forum as consistently horrible as you.

Ellyess · 20/05/2018 17:49

Bahhhhhumbug Agreed. I married 1969 (yup I do go on gransnet too but I'm also a mum) and made my own dress which was similar BUT it fitted properly on the bust. I thought, for a couture gown, hers was pretty bad. I mean, I had barely left school, made mine on an old Singer hand-turned sewing machine and it fitted me better! I wouldn't have accepted the fit of her dress if I were her! I'm glad you've said it. No one on Gransnet has said so and I don't dare because they eat you if you rock the boat. The GN boat says at the mo that her dress is "elegant" etc.

extinctspecies · 20/05/2018 17:52

I thought Oprah looked great. She has struggled with her weight over the years but certainly knows how to dress stylishly and in a way that compliments her.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 20/05/2018 17:54

I agree extinct, I thought she looked healthy and happy. It was nice to see her. I did think she should have been sat next to Doria!

RoseWhiteTips · 20/05/2018 17:55

Why did the dress have to cost 200 k? That sum would have gone a long way in the fight against poverty in Africa or wherever MM’s interests lie.
And no one can dispute that.

cardibach · 20/05/2018 17:56

she scrubbed up well enough
Smudge this makes you look ridiculous. She looked lovely. She had nothing to ‘scrub up’ from, what with not being a manual worker. Reveals a bit of a nasty attitude to her I think. I’m against royalty as a concept, but there’s no need to be mean and condescending to anyone.

abas · 20/05/2018 17:56

I thought it was lovely. The girl has had enough stress this week and obviously lost some weight - but, nonetheless, beautiful.
