Meghan's dress was lovely but lumpy looking,/ill fitting bra look

Anyone else notice how lumpy it looked at front like when you wear a bra that's two small and you have two cleavages lt spoiled it for me tbh though l think she looked stunning. I thought it might just be the light as it is quite shimmery but have noticed it in several shots /light now. A wardrobe malfunction?

I found it difficult to see the dress for her dazzlingly beautiful smile and the happiness that shone out of her.

blueskypink · 20/05/2018 13:44

Well said Olly. I thought she looked magnificent. I'm sure most people were looking at the whole effect rather than staring at her chest.

I particularly like Sophie Wessex's outfit - very elegant and also not sprayed on.

Oh my, Princess Anne in that link.

This is funny metro.co.uk/2018/05/19/princess-anne-come-royal-wedding-dressed-hugh-hefner-7560369/

cherrytrees123 · 20/05/2018 14:38

Just googled Lady Charlotte's dress. It is stunning!

OlennasWimple · 20/05/2018 14:43

Nipple covers and funny bust FFS Hmm

Ironically Kate is one of the few women who could look really stunning in a strapless wedding dress, but of course it was never going to happen

user1485342611 · 20/05/2018 14:51

There is a distinctly bitchy tone to this thread - and it's not coming from the posters who didn't like Meghan's dress.

TooManyPaws · 20/05/2018 15:03

Just googled Lady Charlotte Wellesley and saw her wedding dress. Very plain fabric and seems to have copied Scarlett O'Hara in wearing the curtains. Very peculiar.

Talith · 20/05/2018 15:09

It was haute couture not an off the peg bloody Maggie Sottero. It was an intentionally softer sillouette, that's what makes it original. Lady Charlotte's was lovely but the only original thing about it was the shoulder flaps.

That1950sMum · 20/05/2018 15:11

I think she was hands down the most beautiful royal bride ever.

So classy, so stunning and she looked genuinely happy.

BlueAnchor · 20/05/2018 15:13

Megan's dress, classic, chique and very elegant. She is gorgeous and the dress allowed her to shine. Loved it.

However I do think her bra let her down as did her hair which was loose at the front and stray bits sticking out at the back.
Such a classic and plain dress demands clean lines especially with well fitting underwear. It was very unforgiving.

In a strange way it made me love the wedding more. I know my hair would let me down and I might just manage to wear a strapless bra that slips!

cherrytrees123 · 20/05/2018 15:16

Why was Ophrah at the wedding? Does anyone know?

Talith · 20/05/2018 15:24

Immaculate every-hair-plastered-back hair would have jarred with the softer lines of the dress. She looked absolutely wonderful. Original.

ForalltheSaints

...This is the worst country in the world for style, I think, and so only those without a fashion faux-pas or bad taste should be the first to criticise.

Oh do tell how you are going to arrange that, then.
You are wrong, in any case.

RoseWhiteTips · 20/05/2018 16:13

mydogisthebest

I think she wanted her hair to look as natural as possible, which it did...

NATURAL as possible? But her hair is straightened!!!

🤣

OlennasWimple · 20/05/2018 16:15

I thought her hair was escaping at the back, but I'm pretty certain it was the shadows from her veil as they disappeared when she moved her head. I quite liked the strands falling forward over the side of her face - a more relaxed, modern look than if she had gone at it with the Elnett

AskAuntLydia · 20/05/2018 16:18

Do people really think a royal bride wouldn't have a dress that properly fitted her?

There would have been expert tailors there ready to let it in or out right at the last minute if necessary.

This is the British royal family.

Cuppaoftea · 20/05/2018 16:29

Loved Kate and Pippa's dresses far more.

What I did think a bit much was Meghan walking down the aisle in front of the Queen with an endless veil embroidered with all the flowers of the Commonwealth, whatever ambassadorial role she plans on taking Meghan will never be Queen of the Commonwealth.

FreeMantle · 20/05/2018 16:29

I agree that brides do look better in less is more. But it's the one day you can wear a flipping fantastic dress.
Yes if you have a castle as a backdrop and a husband in uniform a simple white gown looks classy and perfect.

A field and a barn reception or a big golf club wedding and who cares if you look timeless. You want to look like you, happy and special.

( and they all date, the classic simple dress will define the 2020's until the trend for brights or trousers or something else kicks in the 2030's).

SomeAreMoreEqualThanOthers · 20/05/2018 16:31

But, it didn't look right, to me and lots of people. Seamstresses etc have commented on MN also that it wasn't fitted properly and for a very expensive couture gown they don't understand how that happened. Obviously it's all purely opinion (as are those saying it fitted perfectly etc)..but if people who work in that area think it wasn't right, then it does give pause for thought.

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 20/05/2018 16:37

Funny isn't it, it looked like the perfect fit to a lot of people, even seamstresses and designers who praised the dress and found it a beautiful and perfectly finished gown.

Oprah thanked the team who finished her own dress through the night, so I doubt that Meghan's dress was less than perfect. She cannot have lost that much weight in 72h for her dress to fit perfectly, and it looked perfect.

Shambu · 20/05/2018 16:39

I've seen many a dress fitted by 'seamstresses' though - a lot of them are dire.

Shambu · 20/05/2018 16:42

I think many people simply don't understand that, Kate's dress aside, couture for state occasions is not generally skin tight.

specialsubject · 20/05/2018 16:50

there is a side by side on the bbc website - same bouquet. kates dress shows huge lumps (bad lace) , Meghan's does not.

both with huge grins and not caked in makeup, so both look lovely.

specialsubject · 20/05/2018 16:51

oh, and no ghastly bridal helmet hair either!

SoupDragon · 20/05/2018 16:59

That makes no sense at all. Confused
