To think most people wouldn't swap lives with a Royal?

I think the scrutiny would just be too much and would prefer to keep my anonymity.

Would you swap your life for a life as a major Royal (e.g. Kate Middleton)?

Absolutely not! Talk about living in a gilded cage!

HarrietKettleWasHere · 18/05/2018 20:13

No, because I'm socially anxious and on a bad day a complete misanthrope.

Her clothes though. And she'll never ever have to worry about her children not having their own bedroom.

NapQueen · 18/05/2018 20:13

Depends which Royal.

Kate? No.
Lady Sarah Chatto? Yes.

Euginie or Beatrice? No.
Zara? Yes.

Mannix · 18/05/2018 20:14

I absolutely would not. I can't imagine having to put on a dress, do my hair and go out for photos a couple of hours after giving birth Sad

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 18/05/2018 20:16

I'd be Mary of Guise.

She was pretty savvy.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 18/05/2018 20:17

Didn't Mary du Guise get bumped off?

camelfinger · 18/05/2018 20:17

No, I would feel too bad about the poverty that so many have to put up with while I lived in luxury.

Pengggwn · 18/05/2018 20:17

No way. Always having to be on best behaviour; having to be polite to David Cameron, Boris Johnson and associated twats; having to be perfectly groomed at all times; having people living in your house with you who hate you (footmen, butlers, nannies, valets). All sounds shit.

Bumpitybumper · 18/05/2018 20:19

NapQueen I was thinking it had to be a major Royal, otherwise I think the proposition would be more tempting. Lots of the privilege but less of the intrusion...

The only things I would like about their lives are the ability to keep popping out kids without having to consider how many you can afford, and having someone to pack and unpack for you when you go on a trip! Everything else they can keep!

Furano · 18/05/2018 20:21

I would not. No way.

SprayingMonsters · 18/05/2018 20:22

No way!

PositiveVibez · 18/05/2018 20:22

No I wouldnt. Nothing to do with gilded cage and no privacy though and more to do with the fact that I wish for a more equal and fair society.

Being part of the elitist, classist, archaic monarchy goes against everything I believe in.

NewYearNewMe18 · 18/05/2018 20:22

Not in a million years.

The down right lies told, and no right of reply. All this 'never complain, never explain' is all well and good, BUT if you're gonna be royal you want proper privileges like, say, chopping peoples heads off or it's pointless really.

raisedbyguineapigs · 18/05/2018 20:22

I'd be a minor royal in a heartbeat! Probably one of the big ones at a push too tbh. Their lives aren't that hard. The occasional stuff in the papers is a small price to pay. MM has had a load of shit this week but she's an 'outsider'. People forget the RF's dysfunction more easily than they do the people who marry them. See Camilla, Wallis Simpson, Fergie etc al

gamerwidow · 18/05/2018 20:24

Nope, the constant scruntiny, never being allowed an opinion, it’s not an attractive lifestyle at all.

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 18/05/2018 20:25

Harriet- no Mary of Guise died after a short illness.

immortalmarble · 18/05/2018 20:25

I would swap lives with anybody today to be honest so it might as well be a royal. Money and stuff.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 18/05/2018 20:25

Ah, I thought she was rumoured to be poisoned but I suppose no way to know.

MissusGeneHunt · 18/05/2018 20:26

Not for me. Minor royal like Zara deffo, but a major one nah.

BuggertheTabloids · 18/05/2018 20:27

Hell yes! I'm sure I'd cope Grin

halfwitpicker · 18/05/2018 20:27

Er, yes.

BitchQueen90 · 18/05/2018 20:28

I wouldn't swap places with anyone famous even for all the money they have. I'd absolutely hate to be in the papers and the news all the time, I value my privacy more than anything.

I'd love to be one of those anonymous millionaires. If I ever won lots of money I'd only tell close family and friends.

halfwitpicker · 18/05/2018 20:28

I'd be the black sheep, second cousin twice removed etc. Not a problem. Where's my estate? Oh it's that shed at the end? FINE.

Always having a protection officer (or two) within earshot? No thanks.
